  1. Hi, I have a gilded altar but don't spend much time in my house at the moment in my never ending hunt for a lumberjack top... Can others use it when I'm not there? How can I enable them or is that impossible? Thanks!
  2. very frustrating to see and not get to play - definitely hoping for a new quest
  3. what an awesome guide! Just completed my 500th and didn't get any treasure trail items but did get 3 dragon spears as the rarest item.
  4. last 2 points = fail cheapest possible u make ur own vials you dont buy them Also manul decanting = fail, go to the heblore guy at ge and use the decant option he does it all for you I agree with Paw Claw on decanting - you'd be crazy to do manual decanting since the guy at the GE started doing it with his very nice right click option. I disagree with him on making the vials - against a 5pg ea cost that's a waste of crafting xp (should craft glass objects which get more xp per item). The only cost effective ways of getting herbs are: 1. Intensive Herb Farming (all five patches - don't bother with non-Herb patches) 2. Combat (Chaos Druids in Yanille Dungeon are good or Aberant Specs for higher lvl herbs) 3. Managing Thy Kingdom used to be not too bad from a cost perspective but i haven't compared cost of it to herbs for a while... 4. Go for Sinister Keys for light relief (or higher lvl herbs) if you have the agility for it. 5. Use Macaws as your familiar of choice. Buying all seconds and vials as well will mean you more or less break even. I did (1), (2) and (3) in combination to 83. Only buy herbs if you're willing to spend for xp.
  5. Not a challenge persay, more of a... skillcape? any skillcape is a challenge, even the "easy" ones - you have to show discipline, endurance, patience and that's not what everyone wants to spend their time on...
  6. Slayer tower probably your best bet then.
  7. It's not that you need it per se - but it's an interesting challenge as much as any aspect of the game. Actually strike that - it's not interesting at all but it is not a bad thing to challenge oneself with something that takes effort every now and again.
  8. I agree about the location but for melee slayer mutated have a higher def than regular bloodvelds so if you want pure speed of xp, they seem faster to me. The room through the mutated is the quietest place to find normal bloodvelds - almost no competition at all and lots more to slay than in the tower.
  9. I know I don't quite optimise for speed as I bank between each run using glory/duel ring and then sceptre but doesn't cost too much time and much quicker than contact as you instantly tele to the mummy. This way it's also cash generative rather than losing cash. I use 1 super anti does per round and a few fish but admittedly have never got round to using a bunyip - maybe I should try :) In terms of the individual round: my rule of thumb (that I read in some guide many years ago) go to your penultimate room and loot there (without checking for snakes) as fast as possible until your timer is down to half and then go to your final room and loot all (again without checking for snakes). If you're feeling lucky you can do the sarcophagi but really not sure it's worth it for the lost thieving xp.
  10. As long as you stand near italy or the other side with numerous safe spots you won't lose much health at all. I got to Jad in full void with 1 and half brews left. The only time you should take damage are the 90 and 360 rounds. Agreed. I use both Italy and the one opposite Italy depending on what's standing where. Having guthans and the enhanced exc. just meant I didn't need to both with brews at all until Jad and also that I didn't need to be too careful other than on the 360s - makes pre-Jad rounds basically stressfree.
  11. Thieving is super fast and makes money without being too stressful. Hunting is fast (but not as fast) and also super remunerative but takes more concentration.
  12. i disagree. Range with guthans and enhanced Excallibur for healing made it quite easy to get to Jad whereas it would have been a little more stressful if I had to be more health careful in the normal waves - then you just have to get used to how to do Jad.
  13. I only got on at the end of last night and didn't have too many bugs to contend with - I must be the lucky one :) From my perspective then I found a series of great little improvements (1) at last having an in house mini-obelisk now conveniently located as near the portal and teleports as I could manage! (2) a relatively low cost way to free up more bank space which is always welcome (3) a way to easily feed pets (4) the summoning button toggle is a big improvement (5) the improved servant interface and I haven't even tried the summoning combat improvement that everyone is so excited about or the MA stuff. Whilst I didn't have to struggle through the early bugs that others did, the negative reaction seems perhaps a tad overdone relative to the breadth of improvements in construction and summoning.
  14. it's worth saying the key is NEVER to burthorpe a task. You want to get to the 50th task as the points multiplier is awesome. There's also a lot to be said for doing the easiest slayer masters (e.g. Vannaka) for tasks 1-9 and then do the highest slayer master you can handle for every tenth task (then repeat) as the multiplier applies to the LAST task you did, not the average over the last 10 etc. That way you increase the frequency of the 10x slayer points multipliers (as Vannaka's tasks are very quick) which gets you the most points the most quickly. Once you have your slayer helm then can do tasks as you would normally do them.
  15. ...and the variety makes pp more interesting too.
  16. i agree about polniv dungeon - it's awesome for slayer. If you haven't done the quest to unlock it and then got the slayer helm then you're really missing out.
  17. I never got the hang of blackjacking but have always quite liked pyramid plunder...go buy a golden sceptre in the GE and it's great xp
  18. thanks, that's helpful.
  19. Range void, presumably...where do you stand to do that? (apologies for hijacking question)...
  20. admittedly it's a while since I have spent much time trying to get the keys but 1 in 9 or 10 seems a bit optimistic to me...just an opinion :)

Yyes, you do have to pay runes for each time you access the bank.
  22. My view is to switch depending on what you're doing: Ring of Wealth : PvM (i would always rather increase probability of a good rare drop over incr a small increase in att/str) Warrior/Berserker : PvP (which i never do lol) Ring of Life : Combat heavy quests Explorer Ring : Penguin Hunting or non-combat heavy quests also rcing Archer : Fight Caves But then each to their own, this debate will NEVER be resolved!
  23. re (1): at your lvl, do the veteran boat and either find a good pc clan or (and this is what I did) just go along to World 144 (I think it was this one) where most of the lvl 100+ people seemed to go. You have to be a bit flexible: sometimes it just works really well as everyone knows what they're doing and you get a good streak of wins but othertimes if you want to make it work you have to switch from attacking portals to defence... There is an argument that you can do the intermediate boat faster and therefore gather more points but that wasn't my experience in practice. re (2): no idea but if you want to tank with void, given it has poor defence presumably you're planning on praying? In that case I'd take unholy book.
  24. Note you can do Mith plates from lvl 68 but for Addy plates you need lvl 88... I'm pretty sure there isn't any addy item (apart from Addy plate) which has more xp than mith plate.
  25. ...or climb onto the roofs of the town buildings. there are a few archer monkeys up there you can kill.
