  1. I never understood what the big deal is with lvl 3 skillers. A 99 or 200m is an achievment no matter what, however I don't see how no combat makes 200m cooking or woodcutting or firemaking etc any more difficult. It may look cool but thats about it. I understand some may simply not enjoy combat, but I am under the impression that a good portion of lvl 3 skillers don't choose that path for that reason. 99/120/200m dg could be a little more impressive assuming the lvl 3 is not leeching. Before I get flamed, understand I am not intentionally downplaying anyones achievemtns or stats. A 99 or 200m is still impressive either way.
  2. you say it like it's a bad thing that they are trying to get more people to buy members. Besides, it is still a choice.
  3. Not going to argue with someone with 82 mage and 69 sum.
  4. Used to have alot of notes and data, was lost on old computer and has been lost on any forum I had posted it on, as it was posted 2008/2009. People typically do not notice, as most npcs camped for charms drop primarily one type, fiends and crimsons for example. For an npc such as rock lobsters, which do not drop primarily one type of charm (although yes they do drop alot of crimsons), it does have a positive effect. Anyway, this is hearsay as I have no data any longer to back it up and all I can do is recommend people try it. However I personally did about 20m mage xp at lobs myself, and the data I had was also collected from others.
  5. Row increases crims and blues and decreases golds and greens at rock lobs, having a more positive effect then the mage bonus of seers ring. I don't know if seers (i) would be better then row, however I would guess not. And yea, gano is pointless. So is pray gear for luring. Prayer renewals are most likely also a waste.
  6. I did not die once there personally. I can't recall exactly how long I could stay, as it's been a few years, but well over 2 hours.. That spot is the best spot to lure to. If a lob spawns there and attacks, and if I remember correctly you will only get attacked by one lob, it's not a big deal. You do not even have to pray. Luring all the way to the ladder adds a significant amount of time. about the ROW, ROW has a very positive effect on charm drops. It increases blue slightly, increases crimson, decreases gold and green. Although I would not recommend you wear one at things like waterfiends, which pretty much only drop crimson. For rock lobs it is a very positive effect. I used to have hard data comparing ROW vs no ROW, but have since lost it. At the time of the video there was no mobilising armies, so I am not sure if seers (i) would be better now or not.
  7. gear= max mage (I'd probably go with void elite also after you use hati) invo= runes for barrage/burst + blood burst/barrage p pots for all other slots. do not take pray gear to swap into for luring, waste of space. As you see in the video below, you pray for just a few seconds per lure. Vid is old, but just update gear for current max mage. Not sure how void elite would compare to virtus, you'd have to test it. edit- guy above even recommends pray gear for lures and a sgs, but it's a waste of space and time. Pray gear will not save what 3-4 p pots can provide unless you absolutley suck at luring. As you can see in the vid, I don't even start praying until i get nearly all 9 lobs on me.
  8. if you want 200m all, or at least 200m slayer/combats, it'd be a waste to make ext range.
  9. you are assuming Season goal, or any high level player for that matter, is to "buy a new car".
  10. While I agree, armadyl for melee is not exactly a great choice, I have to laugh at two things. The first being a person with 2300 total and barely 300m xp making fun of Season. The second being making fun of a player who does not even aim to play "efficiently" in the first place. Being a high ranked player does not mean you must meet everyone elses standards of fun game play.
  11. 200meters, I'll never max.
  12. Artemis1330 replied to Ren's topic in Rants
Been hearing this type of thing since I started playing in 04/05.
  13. why in the hell would you prefer half the drop rate just to hoard them? If anything, slayer drop rates should be uneffected, you can bank 5 max and if you have 2,3,4 the drop rate doesnt go down (so you dont have to leave combat to open) and cave crawlers/mumies should be nerfed (and maybe tds/glacors, but debatable.)
  14. 90% of rs "flips" (or they like to think they do). People always hated when a merchant did not tell his items, and now you can see why. Furthermore, there are clan chats that give exact prices on nex and ss items and rares. In these chats, people will literally say "i just bought X item for X price and sold for X price"..... so 4 ppl in the chat cut the price and before you know it a divine (640m) barely has a 300k margin. Finally, a great deal of players have over 1b (or even max cash) so more people have acces to flipping gwd gear and nex and rares. It seems to me any noob with 350m runs right to flipping elys, assuming they should because they barely can afford to. The entire thing is idiotic and works against itself at this point. With that said, flipping is still the best way to make cash in game. It sucks compared to what it used to be, but it couldn't last forever.
  15. Best way to slay them is to have kuradel give you a new task.
  16. Half the time my yak dies the items go on the ground and half the time they stay in it for when I summon a new one. What is the determining factor for which happens here? As far as I can tell it's random. If I have points lef tor not and if I have another pouch on me or not either one still happens. Annoying...
  17. I would highly recommend you do not dk. Yes it is fun, and is profitable (but no where near good), but at this point it is stupid to go to dks without a yak. I have no idea why people do it. I even said it when axes were still 2m+. The bones and hides dropped add up to 15k per kill. Dragon axe is 800k and will only drop further, warrior 180k, and berserker at least is still nearly 3m. Hides and bones alone in good gear tribridding on a 1500 population world nets about 3.3m per hour. I am not sure how many rex can be soloed per hour, as I rarely ever solo maged. But at just 70 kills an hour thats over 1m, just from hides/bones. You definitely won't be getting one zerker/axe an hour. Just something to consider. Otherwise you'll be sitting there hoping for a zerker ring drop to cover expenses/give you profit. In my opinion it's pretty silly to dk without a yak. 96 sum is not the easiest level in the world, but absolutely worth getting if you are going to dk or do any pvm for a length of time.
  18. Ice burst on skeles at ape atol = 250k mage/hour with max mage and void and ovl. Cost 1.7m per hour total (including p pots, runes, and p renewals). Cheap, and fast.
  19. I tried korais after reading your post, and I rarely seem to hit over 400-500. I seem to hit higher specs with claws, yet I have no hard data on this. Yea it's cool to see the occosional 800, but d claws appear to be more accurate.
  20. I'd say rapier+ovl+turmoil+spec recovs > soa even, yet I have no data to back that up. I take yak of p pots and 15 spec recovs for metal tasks. I'll time a few tasks today for soa vs rapier etc.
  21. now the question is- Who was that? I have an idea but I can't quite put a name to him....
  22. 2600-2700 atm for soa runes. I love it though, rip through jad/ganos/miths with it lol
