Well Known RWT'rs banned.
You're assuming Jagex is going to even press charges. Highly doubt Jagex is pressing charges on an 18 year old. Nothing will happen. The irs is not going to come chasing down these kids. The u.s. government is not going to do anything. A very small few made a shady couple hundred thousand on the internet. They'll get banned, that's it. If I am wrong, I will gladly eat my words. But nothing will happen.

For a couple hundred grand? no... No way in hell any kid under 20 is going to prison for not paying taxes on illegitimate game earnings. Fines? Unlikely, but maybe. The only time I am aware of someone being taken to court over runescape was those bot developers some time ago, and they made millions. Don't recall for sure, but pretty sure there was no jail time.

Solo Sara rates
If it's costing you gp then you are paying gp...... By definition a cost is an amount that must be paid or spent to earn somthing. Key words "paid or spent". "practicing" on beta just so you can kill her on live rs is retarded. Sara is not daunting. Even if you die, it's very easy to get kc and loot in time. Go with a team first, and use range. Soloing is not much different, you just run more often.

Solo Sara rates
1:250 for hilt 1:75 for ss not sure on new items, and not sure on up to date kills/hour or kills/trip. Pointless to work on tactics in beta, its not free. Every kill is a drop you could of gotten on Live rs, so in essence you are spending gp to practice tactics.

Jagex Account Guardian
It's not just about what's stored in your cookie cutter profile. It's about the things you've posted *somewhere* at *some point* on your Facebook wall. Somewhere, at some point, maybe your mom commented on a photo saying, "Oh wow, that reminds me of the time I met my husband in Prague!" Or if someone can find you, they can probably find your family quite easily. They can scan through them, figure out who your cousins are, and then note down the ages until they find the oldest. This isn't the case with all people, obviously. But for many, it is. There are a lot of people who don't have "Private" Facebook accounts. There are a lot of people who blindly accept every friend request. There are a lot of people who don't think about what they're saying online, or what their family is saying. There are a lot of people who have their recovery answers out there for the world to see, and dont' even realize it. Which is why my IRL Facebook account and my Runescape FB account don't mix. Not that I'd post "real" answers anyways. If you want to use Facebook with your Runescape account, why not simply set up a dummy Facebook account for your Runescape character? I'm not talking about people who use Facebook for RuneScape things. I just mean people wanting to hack your RuneScape account but they need answers to your recovery questions. So they do a lot of research to find your REAL Facebook account. This 'research' can include googling, figuring out your e-mail address, finding out what school you went to, finding that school's Facebook page and then finding people in connection with that school and picking you out of it. And then stalking your Facebook page to farm it for information. People get DOXed all the time. That's one of the biggest ways people steal RuneScape accounts. A large part of that process is just doing online research to farm personal information, and part of that often leads back to Facebook, other social media sites, other online profiles, or any articles that may have included you that can now be found online. It doesn't matter if you 'officially' link those accounts to RuneScape or not. People are still capable of finding them. Of course it helps a lot if you use the same username, e-mail address, avatar, etc. But a lot of people do. I mean, I personally don't use real answers for my recoveries, but I think it's safe to assume that most people in the RuneScape population do. And that leaves them vulnerable. Just to add, this may seem far fetched to some of you. But it happens all the time, even for runescape. I've even read on other forums of hackers going to the extent of actually going to a persons school and getting on the schools internet to attempt to recover an account, in hopes the similar ip or w/e will pass Jagex tests. It's kinda scarey to see the amount of information and the length people go to to recover accounts. But yes, this may add some security, I am not disputing that. However, imo, there are way to many loopholes and it all primarily relies on the user to put not get keylogged and to use intelligent responses to the jag questions, and to use two step verification on thier email. And lets be honest, how often will that be.... This whole system appears to me to simply be away for jagex to reduce liability. Someone refrenced this a few pages back I believe. In this age, Runescape is increasingly tied to our real life info, face book being one example. Remember when sof came out, if your account was hijacked the hacker could use your credit/debit card to buy max spins (now not possible), another example. This system was a very cheap and very easy way Jagex could say "well....if they used JAG......"

What did you do today?
On the subject of weight gaining, if you are a hard gainer in your teens it's going to be next to impossible to gain weight. Also, thought I'd post this. It is an absolutely great video for those starting out, and a good portion of more experienced "weight lifters" (Putting it that way to encompass a larger group). In essence it's basic nutrition that far to few know. The guy is very experienced and knows what he is talking about. Good video to watch/listen to.

01 Sept, 2012 - Behind the Scenes September
Would I be allowed to use the term "out of touch" here? Because the kinds of players that have trouble making money are the ones that don't have access to any of that. That was more a response to kimberly then it was an argument on how to make the most gp out of slayer. My point was that even using the most expensive "gear" (overloads/p pots/cannon) you can still profit off slayer. Surely using less exspensive items makes more gp, at the result less xp/kills. Some of this is really getting off topic, imo. So pm me if you really want to continue this.

Woosh You missed the point of what he was trying to say. And wait, how exactly is slayer profitable if you're burning through cannon and overloads? Turming every task is common sense but there's no way you could profit on slayer going for the best kills per hr. The point I got was anything that devalues his gaming experience is secret magic. And if the things I stated devalue his gaming experience, then it's obvious why he can't afford certain gear. And slayer is profitable because p pots are somthing around 2-3k each, cballs are about 250, and one overload is 50-60k. Overload price is arguable anyway, due to the experience gained from making them. That is, very roughly, 265k per hour. I am not counting cannon because you can't cannon every task and cannon usage depends highly on player preference (for example: are you cannoning dark beast or killing in the dg? yes it's faster to cannon but few do) . I also did not mention going for best kills per hour, as few to none do that and even know how. That entails using soa and spec restores, etc. edit- and when I mention not counting cannon due to not being able to cannon each task, the reason is I do not have up to date numbers on percentage of tasks you can and cannot cannon, therefore can't get numbers on cost/hour.

Or those players can learn to play the game. Money is way too easy to make. I've gone from 0gp to Nex set (with divine) twice. It isn't hard, just everyone wants instant gratification which is not how life works. Not everyone knows secret magic to earn money like you do. Some of us choose not to use methods that we feel would devalue our own experience (and yes I know you can just reply to this with "then gtfo") Secret magic? Ge merching, qbd, nex, frosts, etc etc is secret magic? Go look on youtube, there are hundreds of vids on that stuff (and you don't need a bil to do any of those). Even slayer is still profitable, using overloads/turmoil/cannon. ( I mention slayer because you need to train combat to wear combat gear.)

Seriously hope they do not allow email as one way to get the code. It is stupidly easy to take over email accounts, minus google (with 2 step enabled). Furthermore, email is one of the largest, if not the largest, reason recovering/hacking is so bad today. Just really seems to null the entire thing to use email to get the code. And I agree, landline usage should absolutely be enabled as well. It's possibly even more secure then using a cell phone, as you can't really steal a land line. While I don't know of any, there are probably ways to somehow intercept texts or hack into apps. And in this day when players banks reach the hundreds of bills (a small percentage yes), and therefore thousands and thousands of usd, I can see someone somehow doing all that for a rs account. And if the tech to take over apps/intercept texts does not exist yet, I can see that developing as 2 step becomes more and more popular. I'd personally go with the sms/app way if you'd need it every time you login. But I do use landline verifaction for some of my 2 step emails, does not really make sense to me to have all 2 step verified emails linked to one device. yea there is usually a secondary way to contact you, but still, better to be safe then sorry as they say :P

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
To put the nail in the coffin for this mod mmg nonsense, take a look at rscript top slayer gains for the weekend. Everyone in top 10 for past 24 hours bought the exp on sof, and many are buying max spins for multiple days. And those only are the worst offender in one skill.

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
You are taking only parts of the quote and that's the issue. The full quote *has* to include that he is talking about directly selling xp as opposed to the SoF, and they won't do that, and they AREN'T atm. I am not talking about whether this actually makes a difference. My point stands that he is not a liar (in this case). MMG was as open and admitting as he could honestly be, I don't see how people are still complaining about this. If he said "We aren't directly selling XP", I could understand arguing about it. But that quote was not about whether or not they sell xp, so you cannot call him a liar on that. Are you serious right now? I took the parts of the quote that were relevant. You're arguing that if jagex sold xp directly it would not be on the sof, and therefore my post is invalid? The full statement was "we know that directly selling gold, XP or even accounts would generate between 10 to 15 times more revenue than Squeal or Solomon’s Store generates combined. However, we simply won’t do it, because we don’t believe it’s the right thing for the long-term health of the game." Meaning if jagex sold xp, gold, or accounts directly without going through the loops of sof, it would generate much more profit. He does not deny that you can buy xp on the sof, he actually bascially admits it by saying "if we sold xp directly" implying that yes, we sell xp now but you need to spin for it. I don't know why I am getting into that anyway, as you are really missing my point. I. Do. Not. Care. if jagex is selling it directly or not, meaning 10usd for x exp, or 10 usd for x spins. Bottem line is you can buy exp from sof, therefore Jagex sells exp for rl cash. Period. And players buy this exp daily. How this effects my game experience is another discussion. edit- for the record, I also never called him a liar. I said you could argue he is one, which I won't because I don't see that going far.

You are forgetting how old gwd is, five years now. When it was released, and for a good while after, it was end game content. There were no overloads, no chaotics, no nex gear, no familiars (summoning came out 3 months later, and many players had no familiars/low level familiars for awhile, obviously). Considering the best armour before bandos/arma was barrows, few had access to bandos/arma for some time as well. So for a long time, gwd was pretty difficult. It took years for people to be able to solo over a hundred kills (safe spots aside). I do agree that at this point, gwd bosses are stupidly easy, however. And hopefully that will be changed at least slightly, as refrenced in the bts.

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
What mod mmg said is "we know that directly selling gold, XP or even accounts...However, we simply won’t do it" To the few people arguing over direct/indirect the last two pages, all you're doing is arguing over definitons really. The bottem line is they ARE selling gold, exp, and items. They are definitelly selling items directly, arguing over whether or not they are selling xp directly is a moot point. All semantics aside, Jagex is selling xp. Regarding mod mmgs quote, because I know someone will surely say "omfg see mod mmgs not a liar you're all wrong l0l", it does not matter if the word direct or indirect is in there. Mod Mmg comes off as, arguably, a liar, and surely two-faced (saying one thing (we don't sell exp directly) and doing another (selling xp)). And I'd like to point out, he stated that and the very next day the method to buy xp is half off (or double for the same price, whatever). Basically everyone seems to agree Jagex is selling exp, you're arguing over whether the loophole, so to speak, can be considered direct or indirect. Which is pointless really.

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
All jagex rage/ivp anger aside, you are kidding yourself if you do not think the sale of spins is anything less then the direct sale of xp for real life cash. At this point, there is enough data available to know if you buy 50+ spins, you will end up with roughly x gp/x exp/x other items.

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
I love the timing of mod mmgs post and the selling of double spins for the same price this weekend..... "we know that directly selling gold, XP..........However, we simply won’t do it"... [bleep] off mod mmg. Someone can pay 200 bucks to get a 99 from lvl 92 in one day this weekend. THIS is why many players continuously lose hope and faith in Jagex. sof is not gambling, we know at this point (thanks to sof buyers) that you will get roughly x exp for x dollars, accounting for the occasional sof changes. "we will not dirrectly sell xp" is a load of bull shit, and mod mmg follows that post up with selling double the spins for the same price (or 50% off spins however you want to look at it).

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Fully agree with this. I think to many of you look back with to much nostalgia. For example, remember rc pkers? Or let's go back to the wildy agility course, where the news post out right stated it was put there with the intention of pkers targeting skillers. And what about rune rocks? That was the intention of putting the abyss guy, agility, and rune rocks (and everything else; clues pengs etc) right in the middle of the most populated pk area (Edgeville). Is it "douchy" of pkers to kill people in the wild that are not pking? Maybe. But coming from someone who's been around for a little while, and never really pked myself, this is how it was meant to be and how it should be. Wild is for killing players, it's part of the risk and part of the effort of doing pengs and clues and everything else non-pkers do. I'd venture to say it's even become to safe. No one mines rune rocks anymore, and few to none use the abyss to rc (and few pk them when they do use it), the items needed to do clues are junk now more then ever, and doing pengs requires junk/nothing. Let's even add gravestones to this, another item that made rs a hell of a lot safer. I appreciate them, but I also kinda would not mind them being nerfed a bit or even taken away.

New to Solomons General Store: Introducing...Skill-Fu!
Imo, possibly the worst part of all this sgs/sof shit is how absolutely silly the game is becoming, and fast. Earlier I saw someone wielding mushroom like a two hand sword..... now there is that ice cream that sits on your head, and the flame animation for two handed swords looks more bugs bunny then "cool". Summer bbq is not runescape related at all. Tons of this shit coming into the game is just stupid. It's not correct for the runescape "era" or lore, however you want to put it. I never cared for cosmetic items or skilling outfits or things like that, but I recognize many people like to customize their characters look, and that is great. But man tons of this junk is better off in a disney cartoon then runescape.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
He didn't say it could. He said for him, it was better. If he wanted to skip, he obviously would have. I think the point has been made and at this point we're beating a dead horse. Yes I misread his post as stating polypore is better then melee, versus what he actually said. My mistake.
-
The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
I doubt polypore can do a iron/steel dragon task faster then max str+cr+ yak of spec restore.
