  1. Still got it: Beat first level of Super Mario Bros 3 in 7 seconds. Can beat it in 6, though.
  2. I think what he means (not sure), it that human beings (as a group) rely to heavily on human beings (as a group). And the answer is: of course we do. That's why were are the dominant species. If we didn't live together effectively in society, some dumber, more dangerous animal would be the dominant species.
  3. You can... (Live Anywere) Sorry what? I'm not into all the Xbox 'lingo'. Are you saying I can buy a game for my PC, have my friends buy the same game for their 360's, and then be able to play them online with it? I was under the impression that only one game has ever done that, and its not even out yet (vaguely remember some futuristicy FPS on Gamer TV once...) Sounds awful crazy to me maaan [/paranoid, high, black man voice] Halo 2 is going to be the first game to utalize it, I belive. Nah, it was rumored to but there won't be 360-PC playability on Halo 2. However, it will be the first to utilize Live Anywhere (you can join up for 50 bucks a year, so you can talk to people on Xbox360's and get achievements :\). However, the first game to have actual 360-PC playability will be Shadowrun, which I believe ships later this year. And as for XP not being powerful enough to run it, that's a joke. XP can run Crysis, a game too demanding for an Xbox360, but it CAN'T run a game that ran smooth on 360's predecessor.
  4. A picture of George W. Bush only had a 98% similarity to the exact same picture of George W. Bush. I don't have a picture of myself on my comp, maybe I'll take one if I get bored.
  5. I really should get to cataloguing and recording my games. Yesterday I found a game that I didn't even really remember buying (it was Thief 2). I think I have somewhere between 100-120 (broad range I know). Accessories? I've never owned any console or handheld, ever. I've been a PC gamer since Windows 3.1. I have a joystick, but I think it melted or its full of dust or something fun like that. Cuz the buttons kind of stick now and it's set in a constant state of rotation.
  6. San Andreas is the best IMO. Vice City was absolutely incredible when I first played it. I was never that big of a gamer before that came out (like, I played games a lot but I played only a select few for many hours), so I was sheltered from GTA. That completely blew me away in terms of atmosphere and exploration. I remember when my brother was first showing me it, I was all like "can you kill that guy?""can you steal that car?""what happens if..." It really blew me away, more than San Andreas, even though SA is the one I like better. I had only played GTA1 and really, it just wasn't/isn't very good. GTA2 made me downright queazy playing it, because of the camera (when you were going fast and then stopped abruptly, the camera would go crazy...and I crash alot). I also played GTA3 after I played Vice City. It was good, but doesn't even come close to comparing with the humour, atmosphere, style of VC or SA. But, San Andreas was the best one. It had a surprisingly interesting story, it was HUGE, it had the same, slightly improved gameplay, and it had so much style, it was like =P~ . That and, I thought about it every day for atleast 7-8 months (so, when the Ps2 release was coming up). It gave me something to be excited for, and when it got here, it somehow managed to blow away all expectations. That's how good it was. So, definately SA is my favorite. But VC blew me away the most.
  7. Blood Diamond-Wasn't really expecting all that much, I didn't hear much good about it. But I was surprised, it was actually pretty good; quite entertaining. It won't stay with me at all (as in, in a few years I will probably completely forgot having seen it), but it wasn't bad at all. Pursuit of Happyness-This one was ok, kinda was expecting something more. It's an supposed to be an uplifting movie, and it is at the end (actually brought a smile to my face). However, it really was a downer :(. The first...99% of the movie is pretty much all negative situations. Even when something remotely good happens, something worse counters it. So all this really builds to make the ending that much sweeter, but it really was a downer kind of movie for the majority of it.
  8. It was too hard to pick 3, because essentially my top 10 could all be called my favourite game. But I think every game their slightly outdoes that which is listed before it (hence, a descending list). But there's not a game in this 10 that I wouldn't call among the greatest of all time. 10. Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction 9. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 8. Deus Ex 7. Knights of the Old Republic 6. Half-Life 2 5. Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne 4. Dark Forces 3. Planescape: Torment 2. Unreal Tournament 1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  9. Hmmmm, this is really interesting. Probably after going into shock for a few days and consuming all the food in the house, I would pack up my valuables and make for somewhere warmer (by car...Unlike some people, I don't know how to fly a jet bymyself, I can hardly handle a car. However, I could drive as fast as I wanted because there'd [one might assume] no one driving around [unless the monkeys tooks control of the cars in which case I'm doomed]). Anyways, I'd make for somewhere warm, pillaging what I needed on the way. I'd probably jack an 18 wheeler, so I could stock up on bottled water and non-spoilable foods (as well as anything else I might need). I could just take whatever gas I needed. Now, I'd either settle down at a farm somewhere warmer (warmer because, this way it wouldn't die in winter and I'd have a more stable food supply). I guess I'd probably have to give up meat, unless I came across a cow farm and just let them go at each other and eat as I please...LOL. Either that or I would drive around the States, finding all the unspoilable foods and eating them. One would assume even though all the people died, the water and electricity and internet would go on, atleast for a time, as there's lots of computers controlling them. So I'd probably still play some video games as an escape. And like someone said, my goal with however much time I'd have is a gigantic monument to the human race with a lengthy explanation of our achievements and demise (as well I'd go around the world [or maybe just the Americas depending on how good I was at driving a boat (that would be SO fun. I would be just like, start it up, crash it into the shores of Europe cuz there's no way I'd be able to get it safely to a dock, and then who cares? Get what I need from all over Europe, Asia and Africa (this would take months or years, and I might skip Africa because of the danger/lack of important things/unspoilable food and water. So all this compiling of things would probably take many years, then I'd jack a ship with all enuf supplies and crash that back into California. Take what I've gotten and go back to my monument (probably a massive carved stone covered in words, and I'd have a warehouse full of the worlds important historical things). I would probably just work on this for the rest of my life; seeking out what knowledge I'd need for my quest/monument from all the books, travelling back and forth from the different continents cuz I couldn't take everything in one load. I'd probably die doing this eventually, a ship wreck or something and get trapped in the middle of the ocean with no one to come help me. But If I didn't, I'd make that huge monument and take any necessary precautions to attempt to protect it from the elements, so that whatever species took over/aliens invaded us, they would hopefully be more intelligent than us and attempt to learn English. It would be ambitious, and it probably wouldn't work. But the goal would sustain me.
  10. And the _BER__Y FER_Y TERMINAL. That was th second 1 I spotted. Even before the boat in the same scene. And LCPD on the side of the poluce cars too.
  11. People automatically are assuming Liberty City because Liberty City was baed off New York... People are failing to realize that GTA IV is a seperate game from GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas...The whole "Liberty City" thing could be gone...This could just be "GTA: New York" or something. I thought the trailer was kinda' lacking, but at least it's SOMETHING. And I'm positive that next month they'll start pumping out more screens shots and game play videos so I can watch some carnage. There's a few more things than that aswell.

Nah, it's def Liberty City, but looks more like New York. It's I'm pretty sure a different Liberty City than seen before though.
  13. I got the whole thing. Sorry to disappoint, but no destruction. MASSIVE SPOILERS: I'm kind of disappointed aswell. Realer New York? Who cares. Unless this is just a trick, and it's actually GTA: America. You can't tell. The guy says "Perhaps here things will be different." Here could mean America. But I wouldn't be on it. This trailer is too serious. In days past, Rockstar sent out a message saying "Things will be different". You know what I think might be the different? That it's not funny anymore. This makes it look like a darker, more serious approach. I'm all for that in a lot of games, but not GTA. I love the over-the-top (while also clever) humour, the absurd missions and just the essence of fun that was present, particularly in VC and SA. If this game is as much of a reflection on the game as I think, I don't think GTA4 will top SA. No, even if this isn't a representation, I don't think it will top SA. Just because SA is just about as good as a game can get. I guarantee this game will have better graphics (well, obviously), better controls, better AI, controls, physics, lighting, controls(!!), audio. It will be bigger (or atleast more detailed what is there). There will be more to do. There will be few(er) bugs. There may even be multiplayer. But I don't think it will be better than GTA:SA, which IMO is the greatest game of all time. And it better come to PC.
  14. Have you watched it yet? I'm getting it in HD, so it's only at 56%...And I left it overdinner. No, but IGN posted lots of info before the vid link, so they ruined the surprise, lol. Mine is loadin'...Almost done. Good thing; I almost decided to go there :). I'm not shutting off everything but the one window. NO SPOILERS :).

  16. I GOT IT IT'S BUFFERING.
  17. If you get in before me, don't ruin it w/ spoilers and I'll do the same :).
  18. Ugh, knew that would happen :(. Waited and right when it flipped to the trailer I got denid because of too much traffic.
  19. 20 minutes, I've been looking forward to this all month...Nah, all year. Nah, since the minute I 100%'d San Andreas.
  20. It's worked before right? Perhaps try taking a look in side to see if the cables are set up nice, unplug/replug them and so forth. Never hurts as a first attempt (in fact, it happened to me where my dvd drive wasn't viewed because the IDE cable wasn't perfectly flush). Give er a try, atleast. You never know.
  21. Casino Royale: Actually saw this on Saturday, forgot to post. In essence it was a decent action movie, but could hardly even be classified as bond. Besides the name of the main character, and the down-the-barrel shooting at the start, there's almost nothing to distinguish this movie from one that wasn't bond. The Austin Martin could easily be a reference to bond, and the gadgets (while almost entirely non-existant in this movie), would easily fit into another secret agent movie. Overall, it was decent, but nothing too spectacular. TMNT-Can't believe I got roped into this one, but guess what: I actually enjoyed it :). All the people I went with were so excited, and they got disappointed. I had super-low expectations, and ended up being pleasantly surprised. For a PG-rated cartoon movie, it holds a surprising amount of appeal to adults, what with the darker atmosphere and constant ninja battles. 8-) . Plot is ridiculous--->who cares. And there were a fair amount of genuinely funny moments, I was impressed. Well done animation...And did I mention constant ninja battles? So again, it was pleasantly surprising, and if you're in the right mindset it can be fun popcorn movie :).
  22. So you're not using the BIOS to check the fan speed/CPU temp. I'd do that first, see if it comes to the same result, or if ur fan is set to like extra-mega-high or something. I just built my comp over the past few days with an e6400 and stock cooling (with Arctic Silver). It starts off around 14, but sure doesn't stay there for long. Within a few minutes it gets into the 30's, and once it's been idling for a while it hovers around 39-41. The fan speed is set to auto, it doesn't normally go above 600RPM. Definately shouldn't need to burn it in. I don't see why you should need to leave your comp on for 2 straight weeks...If the CPU is cold, the fans shouldn't be working extra hard. They are either set wrong, or you have an fan that's going insane.

No, wait...Slow down. ... You actually thought this movie was supposed to have a good story? That was never the intention of the movie, I have no idea where you would have gotten that impression. The story is supposed to be shallow, the characters aren't supposed to be realistic. It's supposed to be overacted, exciting, brutal. It's an action movie, and most of the reason for its hype was it's fantastic visuals.
  24. That doesn't mean nobody plays it anymore. Look at Starcraft, Diablo II, Warcraft 3, Counter-Strike. Old games, very popular. War3: Frozen Throne just came out 3 years ago. I still play it :-s .
