Me and my friends would either just say some variation of "Hey", just acknowledge the othert person with a quick head nod, not do anything, or just one of the many variations on the handshake. There is also the old slap to the face if the person's a joker. Violence is acceptable too, though. And quite fun

I personally would find it acceptable, but really only for single people, because of jealousy and such. My only problem would be if the person was short :uhh: P.S. Testing new signature, needs a few teaks in wording...
  3. Looked through all search results for '"Baron8000" site:tip.it', '"Baron8000's new computer" site:tip.it", '"New computer" site:tip.it', and all variations I could think of. Nothing. I'm guessing that the google bots found that the page didn't exist anymore, so it's cache was cleared, if they do that. Or a cache somehow wasn't made in the first place.
  4. I've got both, but don't have any problems, plus I only see one ATI icon.
  5. Works on IE too, just tested. Now I have a useful tool if I accidentily zoomed in and can't tell which way I zoomed. Thank you, Clare. Oops, my bad, that's supposed to be Bac_Talan >.< Thanks for pointing that out *Double Checks*, Devnull
  6. What exactly was the name of your post? I've found I'm pretty good at recovering posts. Lionheart still owes me for recovering his siggy.
  7. Boo-Yah. Oh, how many summer days and nights I have spent in almost every position you can think of, trying to stay comfortable while I read those books. The series is just too addicting. Incredibly unfortunate that Jordan died before he could write the final book  Atleast he left very detailed notes on what he wanted, because he was expecting his death. His wife and I think also the publisher/editor/someone else are trying to find someone to finish the book, although I have a feeling that it will not be to the quality anyone who has read the series has come to love. I remember that I had stayed up until 6 am once, typing up a post on the series, only accidentily click outside the text box, and then press backspace. Bye, bye, 2 hours (atleast) of work. You could say I was mad. Now I know better, and whenever I type something that takes more than 15 minutes to complete, I save to notepad. On top of the Wheel of Time, here is a list of my favourite books, and why they are my favourite: [*:1d7tr4jj]The Amber Spyglass (Phillup Pullman) - I see me reading this book as a turning point in my life, or basically when I really started to mature. It taught me the meaning of love, life and just general feeling. I re-read the series His Dark Materials (Amber Spyglass being the final in the trilogy) every summer up at my cottage, because that is where and when I first read the book. First book to ever make me cry. I cannot really give the plot without revealing key points in the previous books. [*:1d7tr4jj]The Rule of Four (Ian Caldwell, Dustin Thompson) - A very intriguing book. I see this book as the one that taught me to question everything. Planning on re-reading this this summer at my cottage for the same reasons as the Amber Spyglass. Follows an undergraduate at Princeton, who's friend and roomate is writing a thesis on the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, an incredibly long book about a monk in his search for love. The Hypnerotomachia, as described in the novel, is an extremely lengthy story of a man in his search for his love. The thesis explores deciphering the book in order to solve its mystery. The Hypnerotomachia is a real book. [*:1d7tr4jj]Noughts & Crosses (Malorie Blackman) - A cool flip of the roles in racism, giving me a perspective I can relate to on how it is to receive it. Taught me to hate. The book is set in the near future, with only minor technological advancements. The roles of blacks and whites are flipped, but there is quite a bit of racism. The world is highly segregated, with different hospitals for blacks and whites. Blacks are the upper class, while whites are the lower. Whites are referred to as Noughts, blacks Crosses. Persephone Hadley is the daughter of an important politician and a Cross, while Callum McGregor, two years older, is a poor Nought. They are connected through Callum's mother, who babysat Sephy (Persephone). They remain friends, and this escalates, creating a Romeo and Juliet situation. Other events, mostly related to Liberation Militia (A terrorist group supporting the equal-rights of Noughts), due to the involvement of Callum's brother and father in the underground organization. [*:1d7tr4jj]Run (Eric Walters) - A historical fiction about Terry Fox, in which a troubled boy follows Terry on his run because of his reporter father. Another book that made me cry at the end. I am not sure what this book taught me, but it made Terry fox my idol. [*:1d7tr4jj]House of the Scorpion (Nancy Farmer) - A science fiction book taking place in the future, about a boy named Matt, who is a clone of a very powerful drug lord in what is today Mexico. This is what introduced me to science and gave me my love for it. [*:1d7tr4jj]The Inheritence Cycle (Christopher Paolini) - The only book/series I love that hasn't taught me something, this series is just awesome. Basically a boy in the typical medivel world finds a dragon egg, which is something special because of the Dragon Riders, an order of protectors who well, rode dragons. The dragon would choose them, not hatching until they found the person they saw fit. The egg hatched for the boy (Eragon). The Dragon Riders are all but extinct, with the only known Rider left ruling the kingdom known as the Empire, where Eragon lives (Eragon lives in a fairly remote village, so the presence of the last Rider is not felt). This last Rider (Gallbatorix) is corrupt, and he is the one who, along with several corrupt Riders, killed off the other Riders. Gallbatorix is an oppressive ruler, so Eragon begins a journey to join the Varden, a rebel force against Gallbatorix. A Rider has a special bond with their dragon, allowing them to telepathically communicate, the Rider's physical capabilities are enhanced greatly, their life becomes extremely long (from decades to centuries long), and they gain the ability to cast magic. Can't wait for Brisingr, the third book in the series. I love the books I do because of what they have done for me, and contributed to my personality. I doubt I will ever forget them, and I will always try to re-read them. The list is somewhat in order. Books I enjoyed include Firewing, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Bartimaeus, Inkheart, and the Chronicles of Narnia. I should finish those series. EDIT: I need to start reading again, I went on a sort of hiatus because of school and such, only really read when I had to for school. EDIT2: Forgot about the Pendragon Series! I've loved all of the ones I read, #1-3,5. Yes, I skipped 4 because I had gotten 5 for Christmas, and after a year of thinking I'm going to go out and get/borrow 4, I decided to hell with it and read the 5th. Turns out I didn't miss anything all that important. I do want to read the others though. Summer reading list: [*:1d7tr4jj]As many Wheel of Time books as possible (9-whatever is out right now, I think the series is up to about 12) [*:1d7tr4jj]His Dark Materials [*:1d7tr4jj]Any Pendragon books I haven't read (4, 6-9) [*:1d7tr4jj]The second and third Inkheart books [*:1d7tr4jj]The Rule of Four [*:1d7tr4jj]Noughts & Crosses (The series, not just the book) [*:1d7tr4jj]House of the Scorpion I'm also trying to remmeber the name of a book about a man who can see ghosts, like Elvis, and he tries to solve crimes or something. I have a feeling "Thomas" or "Tom" is in the title.
  8. Granted, but you know how them tentacles can be... I wish for treatment for my acid burns.
  9. False TPUM loves me
  10. Granted, but they are restricted to getting raped by an AIDS-infested ferret, dieing a horrible, painful death, being buried in a shallow grave, or being immortal, but still able to feel pain. Being immortal, you are screwed when the Sun supernova's/become a dwarf star (I think that's what happens...), since you'd feel pain for the rest of the Sun's life. I wish my iPod battery would last longer @stickythetwigman: Yes, that is what I meant

  12. Gingerbread Blue cup
  13. *Swing* "FIVE!" *Clunk* "Whose ball would this be?" *Points finger* "Lenin's" < . < Dammit, someone beat me to it, I guess I was too busy making my post awesome. Oh well, no need to waste the effort deleting anything.
  14. Granted, but because of the Great Shutdown the monkey kills itself because it's account got deleted. I wish the name of this thread would be changed to more accurately reflect the situation.
  15. Coincedentally, we always considered Suzi the mother of the convo. And Lyra, why aren't I in there. I mean, I'm part of the convo's too  I'll write something up if I ever get to it.
  16. Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Went Numb, Somewhere in The Between (Best band, evar. Have been listening to Everything Went Numb for years and still haven't gotten bored with it.) Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture (Awesome album. Favourite rock group) Blink 182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (Their best album, by far) Daft Punk - Alive 2007 (I mean, what punk would skip any Daft song?) Say Anything - ... Is A Real Boy (Again, a good allbum, nice and catchy) There are definitly other songs I couls never skip, but unfortunately, this is limited to only albums :(
  17. I've essentailly avoided that stereotype because of my size. And I like to consider myself quite athletic compared to most people in my school/gym class. Also, the stereotype of a nerd is just someone that lacks confidence. On a sidenote, you're like my French teacher. She admits she's a nerd/geek (I can't remember which one, she says there's a difference). In fact, I'd consider her anything but. She is obviously confident, I mean, it's hard to be funny to an entire high school class and not be confident, not to mention teach it. You'd be surprised how many "geeks" and "nerds" are some of the funniest, outgoing people you can meet.
  18. Presto Vivace & Finale - Yngwie Malmsteem, off of Youtube. Fantastic guitarist, and the orchestra goes with him so well.
  19. ...ya. Right now, I essentailly consider anyone asking for guns, knives, etc. to be idiots. It clearly says you are not allowed any items that are perceived to aid in suicide, etc, so asking for tools you obviously have no use for and other things that seem illogical will be denied. Thus, the only way to escape is to either wait out the experiment, or trick the scientists into letting you get the tools. By the way, it is essentially impossible to get a gun, unless you chose door B.
  20. You arent allowed to try to escape. There is no mention that you aren't allowed to TRY to escape, you just aren't allowed to be given items that are likely to be used in an escape.
  21. I would choose door B, but ignore the gun and bullet. Seeing as how there was no mention of a room behind door B, I would assume that behind door B is the world. If it appears that I was wrong, there is the gun and bullet, because I could not live for twenty years like in room A, and I dont believe anyone could. You need human contact to survive, and a zombie is no human. EDIT: Now that I think it through, I would choose door A. Then, I would ask for all components in a non-electrical form to build the following: A computer A generator A filter that removes 100% of all emmisions from the generator, unless the room is well-ventilated The world's most powerful wireless internet receiver Then, I would ask for any books I would need to build a computer, generator, a filter that removes 100% of the emmisions from the generator from non-electrical components and the world's most powerful wireless internet receiver (Actually, I would ask for this first, so that I would know what components I need). Then, with my book and components, I would begin to build my computer and everything else. Then, I would have my human contact, and a way of which to plot my world domination and revenge on the scientists  . Also, I would probably become a hacker, so that I could then hack into the scientists security systems and get them to release me, once I was done plotting \ . But really, the first thing I would ask for would be freedom. Essentially, if I am not granted freedom, the scientists are dead and the world is mine, so granting me freedom is kind of a win-win situation, wouldn't you think :XD:
  22. Hawking Radiation ignores the fact that it is completely improbable. Ok, so one anti particle appears inside the blackhole's event horizon, it's counterpart particle appears outside. The particle escapes, the antiparticle is trapped by the blackholes, eliminating a particle within, reducing the size of the black hole. The problem is, the reverse will happen just as many times, a particle will appear inside the event horizon, an antiparticle appears outside. The antiparticle escapes, the particle does not, increasing the size of the black hole. Hawking radiation will only affect micro blackholes. DISCLAIMER: I am not an expert on blackholes. I am just a 14-year old kid who thinks he knows blackholes well enough to disprove you.
  23. And yes, my idea completely relies on the fact that blackholes hold in the matter that gets sucked into them, compressing it all into an infinitly small space. My idea also assumes that at some point this infinitly small space is filled, and any more matter attempting to enter causes a catastrophic failure, or maybe even ends up splitting a few atoms, which causes a chain reaction, split more atoms due to the infinitly confined space. And I still think that the basic idea my belief relies on still dominates any theory, mainly because everything had to come from somewhere (Logically), and nothing can just appear if nothing else exists, even with alternate universes, because then they still experience the same dilema.
  24. I find divine creation necessary because when I trace back everything using conventional science, nothing can be explained before the Big Bang theory. Also, after doing a science project on blackholes, i theorized (Did not mention in project) that eventually, everything in the universe will be swallowed by a black hole. Once this black hole gains enough mass, or there is not enough mass left in the universe, the black hole will suddenly explode, recreating the Big Bang. However, this still creates an infinite loop, not explaining to me where the cycle started, and where the matter was brought in from. Then I question where that matter is from, and so on. At it's most basic, my theory on why we exist is that it is unexplainable. I cannot logical figure out how we came to exist, even if i included divine intervention, because then I question where the divine being came from and how he/she/it came to exist. I have actually abandoned all hope of ever coming to a solid conclusion that completely explains to me the universe came into existence. I do still have hope in understanding everything else though.
