Well from what I heard, in the first hour many people got one. But last night I had about 6 friends killing them with me. One person was there 15 hours with no bow, another got one after 2 hours and then nothing for the next 8. I got mine after 7 hours and the other 4 friends didnt get one at all. This definitly is not a common drop.

Actually a whip is 40k, so this bow protects over whip.

NO! For the first time ever JaGeX released a good update at the start of the month, and I'm not 90 slayer yet.

Range is already overpowered in f2p, and you dont lose much at all if you die. You can range 18's in f2p with addy arrows... 20+ on f2p would be too easy to combo people. With eagle eye, addy arrows go through rune like its jello... yes jello.

I got reported for multilogging when I logged off of my scout and onto my main to kill a level 95. Met him in edge and he said "reported for multilogging!!!!!!!" and I just said "Reported for not knowing what multilogging is."

I was just inside Muto... running through brim dungeon inside eachother :P

Today my comp overheated when I was slaying abyssals, I log back and everyone is yelling "Who got it!!!". Turns out I got a whip drop and it appeared on the ground :P Lost my whip :(

First: Range Next: Strength Last: Prayer or Slayer I am only going for strength, prayer and slayer probably for the rest of my rs career. Nothing else appeals to me enough.

Good job, Im going for 90 slayer too (235k away atm) and just finished doing ME part 1 so i can actually get to them :P

With this method at BEST you would have to use 14 sharks... kinda wasteful and very expensive.

I look forward to reading these all in the future since not only does it give hints to the updates, it also gives you a different perspective on how everything is brought together. If you really read the article you see just how an idea can become a rough draft with some concept art. This then goes to design teams, audio, quality assurance and through all this these amazing updates are produced.

Thank you xpx for more accurate numbers, I was no around when they were released and thought I joined shortly after I was never rich so I couldnt afford. I saw in another thread about the whips being more then a Phat set when first released. It really seems possible that people will pay 100M+ for this bow first day.

If you wanna talk about the increase of slayer then you also will have to talk about the huge increase of money in the economy. When abyssal whips first came out they sold for 30 mill+ for first little bit. By today economic standards this could be as much as 150M seeing as the price of rares has dramatically increased, and the price of raw materials has decreased due to autoers. People spending less on skills and more on saving for rares or other high priced items means there is more money lying around. It wouldnt surprise me if dark bows sold for 100M the first day (depending on drop rate) just because stakers want only the best and they are a multi billion gp section of runescape.

I got 89 slayer last night so I am almost there yay :D Back on topic tho I dont think even this increase in training will effect it too much since some of these people dont have proper stats for fighting the dark beasts. They hit very hard and have high defense. If they are just prayable easily then I would predict a large rise in the price of prayer potions in the following weeks. Some people also need to do quests, some will need wild pies to slay them (very bad there) and other simply wont have the money to waste on prayer potions.

This thread should really just stay on the topic of the new bow and arrows rather then turning into a flame war over wether cbow or msb is better.

Well that bow does look tanking and I cant wait to see one in the final stage (ingame). It also shows a nice looking special which appears to be 3 arrows being shot with flame or another substance around them. So predictions about the special can become more centered. I now have two theories. Multishot - The bow shoots 3 arrows at 1 target all them inflicting normal damage. This seems over powered. Split Arrow - The arrow either splits into 3, or 3 arrows are fired, each one hitting a different opponent. This seems more realistic and if it was indeed this, then lurers would get another advantage and possibly a good weapon for multi pking.

This is an impressive article. Well thought out and definitly well calculated. If the runescape world as we perceive it is in fact divided into continents, then this could maybe give way to devlopment of different sections of runescape where you choose which continent you would like to live on, each one giving different geographical advantages and disadvantages.
