Wow, this is the first time I've ever heard of someone only being able to breathe through 1 nostril when he's not sick. :-o To answer your question, my breathing rate elevates only during exercise and other reasons that would cause my heart rate to increase. :-? Wiki says that the Nasal septum deviation is caused by trauma or compression during child birth... While those may not be the cause for yours, does your nose look normal from the outside?
