  1. Well since I'm F2P, the only updates since I started have been holiday stuff and graphics. Not much effect on my gameplay, just spent some time one day to get the holiday items. Oh and the essence update which I lost about 800k on. So actually, the updates are doing me more harm than good as far as I remember. Though obviously realise that I don't contribute to Jagex so I shouldn't complain. I would just carry on as normal if they stopped updating.
  2. I assume you're talking about player mods. I wouldn't mind it. I wouldn't do it for "power," I would do it because I enjoy helping out, and to give something back to Jagex. I can tell you from experience, people constantly pming you with questions gets very annoying. I guess I'm too patient to ever turn off my chat though. I don't have a problem with knowing the rules and never breaking them, because I already don't break the rules. As for your last statement, just don't say bad things. It's as simple as that. Also, like the above, if people "report you for fun," they'll be the ones getting banned, not you. I never worry about people threatening to report me. This sums up my opinion too. I try and answer peoples questions, encourage people to keep rules, and report rule breakers. If Jagex asked me to be a mod I would say yes, we really need more F2P mods anyway.
  3. Examining is fun :D Shows some great humour on Jagex's part. I examine landscape stuff mostly. Even though I know what its gonna say. I probably don't have OCE, since I don't feel the need to examine, I do it for fun.
  4. Google i'm pretty sure of it. Probably looking for a quest walkthrough or something when I was quite new. Found the forums a few months later. BTW edit your title: How did you find tip.it
  5. Highest-90 cooking (and counting!) Lowest-56 prayer F2P.
  6. yea, about that, the guys said that the "rate this" forum was for skills and drops n stuff and to put it in here I think he meant it should go in the media forum.
  7. Not sure, but way too long to wait around for it. I heard it was faster on member servers, but not sure on this one. Anyway, world hop if your mining.
  8. Go for it. But look for a place without autoers, or just one or two. It is possible, I found one a couple of days ago. The lvls come really fast on yews, make the most of your wc lvl.
  9. The key here is finding a yew spot without autoers. I found one recently (yes in a F2P place) and cut over 300 logs no trouble at all. Would share the location but don't want my spot to be filled up sorry :D. Its about 5 times as fast without all those bots. I can't indicate any length of time, I lose track of time when I play...well actually I just don't time myself.
  10. Try the price check sticky in Zamoraks armoury.
  11. Erm...think you read wrong, they range hobgoblins FROM the cow pen. Range doesn't magically go up fast, it takes time and effort. It's arguably easier to train than melee, you don't have to eat and theres one skill instead of three to train. Range is my favourite form of combat, no need to eat :D I spent a while at hill giants to get to around 64, lessers and mossies from there.
  12. Well this is how I did it. Lvl 1-about 50 No idea, I did a bit of everything, ammys-only with gems, tiaras, some clay etc. Lvl 50-62 Clay in the guild. Didnt even think of this til lvl 50. Its much faster than mining gold or silver. But, it gets VERY BORING. After a few thousand bowls you will have had enough. Don't try and do more than 1k bowls at a time, go and train something else and come back. It is also faster than making hides with the cows outside. Lvl 62-70 I gave in to boredom, bought hides all the way to make hardleather bodies. Cost over 800k but it saved a lot of time. Don't buy them all at once or you end up paying 150+ each. Buy at 100ea in alkarid bank as you go along. General tips: Stick at it, but take breaks from crafting. Its not the most fun skill to work on. Stock up on diamonds. Every now and then stand in a bank and shout "buying all uncut diamonds 2k ea" Nice investment for when you hit 70. Cut and bank. I had about 75 diamonds when I finally got there. Craft your gems. Make ammys when you get them. Up to you whether to string and enchant them, I ended up alching instead except for str ammys. Stringing gets 4xp for crafting I think, not worth the hassle of shearing sheep. I have more or less made back all the money I spent on hides by selling power ammys. Glad I went for it, nice skill to have. Note:hides sell for 17gp each in the store. 100gp a hide plus 3gp tanning - 17gp selling is 86gp per hide 35xp.
  13. This thread might be useful: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=432991 It is what tip.it says about this issue, and info from Jagex included.
  14. Hill giants are great, if you want prayer xp too. Can get very crowded though. I ranged from lvl 25 to 64 there. At some point you could range moss giants, if you still want big bones. After lvl 60 or so, go to lessers for drops, or stick to easier stuff for faster xp.
  15. Melee: Rune plate Rune legs Rune kite Rune full helm Green d hide vambraces Power ammy Cape Leather boots Your choice of weapon, probably rune scimmy/b axe Range: Green d hide top Green d hide legs Green d hide vambraces Coif Power ammy Cape Leather boots Maple bow and some arrows Mage: Wizard top (black/blue) Monk bottoms Wizard hat (black/blue) Anti-dragonfire shield Mage ammy Cape Leather boots Probably no gloves, not sure Elemental staff (fire/air/water/earth) Any trim or gold trim or god armour has exactly the same stats, its just for looks.
  16. As a rune miner since last week, it is probably the best money in F2P. You can get a load in 1 hour at best, 336k if you sell ores, or more if you have a high lvl smith to make axes. The problem is that there are over 9000 runite miners and only 2 rocks per world. I have mined for an hour and got 6 ores once, there were at least 4 other miners and a bunch of pkers. It can be a lot of hassle when you keep world hopping and seeing empty rocks. You have great F2P runecrafting. Guaranteed money maker with airs. Probably these two skills will make the most for you. Lobs and yews are way to slow to be as profitable. Smithing even more so, but you could make some money on the way to 85 mining, if you superheat addy or mith bars in the mining guild, then sell.
  17. Sounds good to me. Not for another 10 days, I'll be there, hopefully i'll remember still when the time comes. Only 1 prize. :? ah well, probably won't be that good at it anyway. Count me in.
  18. rubiks cube
  19. 1 + 1 = 3, for large values of 1
  20. canoes arent pointless i use one to always get to edgeville the idea seems really good what about canifis though, ghostly horses of some kind... Morytania has little places of interest (3 now, canifis, port phasmatys, and mor'ton/burgh)... But its prone to expansion (obviously) Maybe then the time is ripe for wargs (or creatures much alike)? Ok, now this is really going a little too far. Your original idea was indeed well thought out, but it just isn't going to happen. There will be no ridable horses in runescape, it is the first item on the DO NOT SUGGEST list on the official forums. As has been said, it is just a novelty idea, and it would be better to spend time on other updates.
  21. Same here, I never keep them, mostly due to bank space issues. The novelty of frog masks and prince outfits wore off after a short time, I dropped them too. Probably had 40-50 frog events, I stopped counting. You obviously put some thought into this, nice idea for an annoying random event. Some things I think need changing: lvl 32 frogs. These shouldn't be necessary, low lvls could get in trouble here unknowingly, and we don't really need frog bones either. Other than that, it seems pretty good, though I would probably end up dropping the stuff after a while as usual. If it was ever implemented, they would probably change the style of talking, to something more similar to the way you talk to NPCs. But as I said, nice idea. I hate getting frog randoms at the moment, seems useless to me.
  22. I support this idea. However, it would take a lot to persuade them to use it.
  23. Good idea, but I think this could cause just as much trouble as it saves. See post above too, you agree to the rules when you sign up, so theres no excuse anyway. Its not hard to find the rules again either, they are on the website with explanations regarding the particulars.
  24. It's just like ores, you get mining exp, smithing exp, and magic exp (if you high alch). You can't smith a rock, nor can you alch a rock. You can only mine it. With the example given, you currently choose whether to fletch or burn. With this update, members wouldn't need to burn logs, they might as well fletch first then burn the bow. So I say no too.
  25. Maybe its a club/truncheon, not an axe. Real life police/jail guards have these. Did you see a rune axe head lying around....
