Hilariously poor stats as always. What could be a unique set of equipment (extremely high magic defense with no other stats at all) is instead trash. What's the point?

This is a good point- it's not really fair to compare rapier/cls to maul without including a defender.- Behind the Scenes - March
You seem to be laboring under the impression that whether a player is high level or not is a matter of luck and not something players can control. NOPE.- 01-Mar-2011 - Elemental Workshop IV
If you don't like quests, why bother having a quest cape? Shouldn't a cape be for something you enjoy doing? Don't want to do quests, don't do them? I'm a completionist.- 01-Mar-2011 - Elemental Workshop IV
YES more crap to do to maintain my quest cape. Can't wait to get some horrible boots and gloves to go with all the other horrible stuff from these horrible quests.- Slayer helmet or Verac's helm at Rex

It wasn't called an update, it was called revamp and rework. These words imply something other than a tacked on minigame. This isn't a smithing revamp, this is pyramid plunder for smithing. Their wording was very misleading.- Behind the Scenes - March
So it doesn't count as hype, because we should have known Jagex was lying? Hype is making something sound better than it is, and that's exactly what they did. A revamp implies fixing the skill, not turning it into another cooking. Lying is an exaggeration. I'm saying that the way Jagex word things more than often leads to misleading interpretations. To say that overhyping this update is entirely Jagex's fault is a pretty shortsighted viewpoint. So whose fault is it? The people who pay for updates? No. Jagex is the one that has the responsibility here. The players aren't accountable for expecting Jagex to not make stupid updates, Jagex is accountable for making updates sound more appealing than they are, when in reality what they're working on is garbage that's the opposite of what players want. It's not like Jagex is incapable of finding out what players want. Hell, they could even play the game themselves, and then they'd KNOW that this update was a stupid idea. Instead they continue acting as though they're completely isolated from player opinion and poisoning the game, deaf to all criticism. Totally the players' fault.- Slayer helmet or Verac's helm at Rex
Prime takes foreeeeeever to kill, so you'd be better off swapping between Rex and Supreme, and then wearing down prime when you have downtime. Or, even better, use the cannon method and let that kill Prime while you focus on the other two.- Slayer helmet or Verac's helm at Rex
When you kill only Rex you spend a lot of time waiting around for the spawn. When you 2.5brid or tribrid you spend the whole time killing stuff. How could that possibly not make more money than sitting on your ass waiting for a spawn half the time?- Nex
It's decent at Corp and PvP, but yeah, besides that it's useless.- Behind the Scenes - March
While I'm quite excited for this, I hope this doesn't mean the end of being able to safespot Dreadnaut or the Hope Devourer. Oh jeez, that's a good point. Dreadnaught is EXTREMELY difficult if you don't safespot him. Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but it's more out of convenience that one person kill Dread/Hope while the rest finish the other doors. It's not sarcasm- have you ever tried to kill dreadnaught properly? I have, and it was a nightmare. The guy with the surgebox ran out of runes with dread only having 1/10hp left, we had finished the dungeon, and the only gate near the boss was inside the room, so I had him pull the GGS in figuring we'd just knock out the last bit of HP no problem. 2 people died and it took a surprisingly long time to take out such a tiny bit of hp.- Behind the Scenes - March

RoW doesn't work on rune chains and meds. If i am wrong about that, then may i ask: how you know it don't work on rune items? Ring of wealth works on rares: Shield left half, dragon med, dragongemstone, rune items etc Not abyssal whips, black mask, dragon boots etc. That's how i understand it. There's a specific set of drops that every monster that drops uncut gems can drop: sapphire, emerald, ruby, diamond, dragon med, shield left half, dragon spear, half keys. Those are the only drops that RoW currently affects. A good test is asking if a gorak can drop it. If it can't, RoW won't help.- Behind the Scenes - March
I don't like the Ring of wealth update because Ring of welath already have a use. It actually makes you wealthier. Use it at Dark beasts and you get tons of half keys, use it at Abyssal demons: tons of rune chain + med. It's good ring at Rune dropping monsters. Infact i have considered using it when camping at Abyssal demons, and i had choice of Onyx ring (I) , Berserker (I), WArrior (I). So as you can see Ring of wealth does have a use. It does not deserv to be a point in March update, that's for sure. Jagex should have tweaked % of rare chance instead. But your completely right and i agree with you, better to improve a already existing ring, than make a new one. I just think Ring of wealth does not qualify as a item worthy of updating. That's not what RoW does. Except for the half keys. It does very slightly improve the drop rate of half keys. The rune drops are your imagination, and the half key increase is minuscule enough that you're probably imagining that as well. If anything, you should be thrilled that your ring choice is going to become less stupid, because as it is you've been wasting your ring slot on garbage.- Behind the Scenes - March

I'd be very annoyed if they make a new better wealth ring instead of just upgrading the old one. There are plenty of useless items in the game, and something that makes one useful is much better than bringing in another item to further bury the old one. I don't know why you're against the update. Sure, there are other items that could be updated too, but that doesn't mean they should just not update any of them because some [bleep] heads like you will get pissed off that it wasn't their favorite useless item that got updated first. Your anger seems irrational and bizarre.- Slayer helmet or Verac's helm at Rex
If you're killing everything, the slayer helm will also help a ton knocking prime and supreme out quickly, more than making up for the lost defense. If you're only killing rex, you don't need the defense.- Behind the Scenes - March
Actually, I think you'll find that this update was overhyped by the players more so than by Jagex themselves. In 90% of cases players just overhype every anticipated update. A pretty good example being FTP3. I can only recall a handful of occasions where Jagex have even mentioned the smithing update. That being said this is clearly the complete opposite to what everyone wanted and the worst part is Jagex know what we wanted but failed to deliver as per usual. They called it a revamp, and the word big was used. This is neither.- Behind the Scenes - March
Erm we have the "dung" quest in that we have the first quest with a dg requirement in the new pirates quest. Other than tht we have no form of "dung" quest to be waiting for. He means the 'The Ritual of the Mahjahrrat' quest. That has no links to dungeoneering thou* and everyone referring to that says the ROTM quest *Just to cover my ass for pedants: it has no CONFIRMED links. It might req dg but nothing has confirmed or suggested this People call it the dung quest because it's heavily rumored that it will unlock an extra bind slot.- Behind the Scenes - March
Personally got 99 smithing b/c I enjoyed the skill, it wasn't until ~8 months after I got it that I heard about a possible smithing update. And when I heard that I thought it'd be something along the lines of extremes/overloads are to herblore. Not like the lumberyard is to woodcutting. Does anyone even use the lumberyard? It's the fastest wc exp in the game, so I'd assume so. Ivy is more popular because you don't have to be actively involved, though.- Behind the Scenes - March
Problem, 99 smithers?- Double Xp Weekend and Dung
If you do dungeoneering on bxp, you probably will, but that's not a big deal. The higher the level, the faster the tokens. It's not like more total levels can hurt you, and it'll get you future chaotics faster as well. Agility's a fine way to spend it too, though. I just think dungeoneering would be more useful.- Behind the Scenes - March
As usual I'm most excited about in other news. Dungeoneering gameplay improvements? Hells yeah. I want more stuff like right click quickcast create gatestone, quickswitch ring of kinship, right click pray now altar, etc. Those are the best updates. - Nex
