  1. MC got a hex? Whelp, I'm ragequitting this game, see you guys.
  2. 91 RC used to be the best moneymaker in the game. Now it's garbage. If that's not a skill becoming devalued, then I'm not sure what devalued could possibly mean in your world.
  3. So you're saying that you can get a return on investing in a skill, but denying that it's possible for that same investment to be devalued? LOL okay.
  4. In dungeoneering, right clicking the create gatestone spell reveals an option "cast now" which will automatically destroy your current gate, very handy for placing a new gatestone while under attack. It's surprising how many competent dungeoneers don't know this.
  5. What are you talking about? Of course they do... Last time I checked the boost you get to combat from extremes/turmoil doesn't diminish relative to gp over time. Neither does your ability to do the entire beacon network at 92 firemaking. No, but Runecrafting and slayer have much lower income than they used to, thieving is worthless compared to before pyramid plunder was released and it was knights of Ardougne all the way to 99, mining is much less prestigious now that there are concentrated ores, smithing was a lot more valuable when r2h was the best weapon... I could go on and on.
  6. I believe jadinkos, but I'm not sure- back in my day we didn't have no fancy jadinkos. Jadinkos ave the advantage of giving you juju seeds you'll want later on, though, so I'd go with them regardless.
  7. A little bit of data with the battleaxe. It's surprising how much flashing turmoil really helps accuracy, some of these numbers are abysmal compared to what I'd normally be getting. It's also surprising that I went an entire solo medium floor without a single forgotten mage to test. [hide]Equipment: Primal battleaxe, primal platebody, Shadow silk hood, T10 berserker ring 99 in all combat stats, no prayer or potions. 8. -I believe so -I forget what the smithing cc is, but there are people in DGS who would be happy to make you a plate. If you can't find anyone to make you one, I'd just bind a kata plate and then ask around for a high level smith in DGS floors you do until you get a plate bind. -Keyer will tell you what to do, but generally you'll be leaving food, keys, etc. on the GGS regardless of who they're going to, since it's a convenient location that everyone can access instantly. -You'll need to solo or do 117 (I strongly recommend solo) for floors below 30 pretty much always. Sometimes keyers try to host DGS floors below 30, but it's hard to find people who want to do them. Don't worry, pretty soon you'll be high enough that you'll be c1ing 1-29 like everyone else.
  9. Genius Yeah this is a great idea.
  10. @ Grimy, yeah, mages are REALLY strong against melee compared to rangers. You never noticed this?
  11. It's unfortunate that you can't report people for scamming when they aren't scamming?
  12. FAR more than testing the weapons, this would test the skill of the players. Hit by hit analysis is the only way to go for fine distinctions like this, variables like who gets to the GD first, who has the better internet, who's better at getting on a monster they won't overkill, etc. etc. will completely skew the data.
  13. Equipment is always risky to leave money in, because it'll always be outclassed eventually. If you kept d claws and another good spec weapon came out, or some way to merc TDs harder than we already can, you'd be in trouble (see: AGS now vs. a few years ago). Coal, pure essence, and rares tend to keep value over time, though they do go through their ups and downs as well. With the current market situation, I would probably keep pure cash. With statuettes gone we're looking at inflation calming down, which means money will be worth more compared to items. There aren't really any smart investments I can think of that are accessible at 60m.
  14. Whoa, okay, I don't think it's reasonable to say anyone besides you and Jimi brought up the debate. If you're going to tell me my weapon bind sucks when I like it a lot better than the one you're telling me to use, that counts as opening yourself up to a big "nuh uh." You don't have to sacrifice a ton of time collecting data, but we don't have to have our weapon bind outlawed if it's not very clearly inferior (like, say, a warhammer) either. That said, I wouldn't mind collecting data. What sort of data are you looking for, specifically? Maybe it would help if you published a template for us to fill in so we have a better idea of how we might help.

Not a single person told him SS without also mentioning d scim as an alternative.

Stock up as many battlestaves as you can and make them into air battlestaves. Very good exp. Gems are kind of... not so good.
  17. This. Something is wrong in the calculations here, because accuracy is barely an issue on rangers below t10 and mages below t9 or so. Accuracy only really becomes a problem for the battleaxe on very high defense monsters like bats, fire giants, high-tier warriors, etc. For bosses, they're usually ragered to hell, meaning that battleaxe ends up better on them than a 2h.
  18. I am not getting rid of my primal battleaxe, nor am I getting rid of my law bind. The primal battleaxe is BETTER for monoliths (particularly when trying to get a new shade off the mono) and low defense/hp monsters (see: c1s), and also has a much better interval for soul split flashing that's easier to pull off with door lag. Meanwhile, the DPS difference between it and prom 2h is slight enough that I regularly get berserker with my battleaxe, mainly because I'm better about flashing turm/ss constantly than most people, and I wouldn't be with a 2h (door lag ALWAYS messed me up for the several months I had a 2h bind, the interval is just straight up less natural). I also key a lot, so it's nice to have that katagon kite off the table sometimes. Primal battleaxe and prom 2h are nearly identical weapons, so I think it really is a case of what people feel the most comfortable with. If you force me to switch to a 2h, I'll become less effective as a result. Of course, I'd just quit at that point.

What were you guys using for gear?
  20. green9090 replied to Emp75's topic in Help and Advice
I'd bring in the realm of 6-7 super restores, 5-6 spec restores, and the rest brews. That's a very rough setup, it depends a lot on your gear and proficiency, so you'll have to tweak it as you go to learn what's best for you. Yeah, Ardy cloak is your best bet, the stab bonus helps a lot.
  21. People have always been strength-max-bonus crazy. There's still hope. Vague hope. Zerker ring adds like maybe 2% of max hit. If row increases drops by over 2%, then it is worthless. Except for the small niche of people that can get zerker i, but that makes the number 4%. Because gotta have that extra chance of rune boots on nechryael tasks amirite? Slayers will still use the crap out of berserker rings. And for bigger monsters, I'm pretty sure switching to wealth at the end of the kill will become standard in most cases.
  22. Berserker until monster is mostly dead, then switch to RoW. Of course, only some monsters will be worth bothering to do this for. I'll probably do it on abbys, metals, Kril (greater demon task), DKs, and maybe spiritual mages. Edit: oh and ice strykes.
  23. Okay, they said tiny gameplay tweaks. I'd expect less of the new rewards and items worth binding and more of the warped walls not making resources inaccessible and toolkits showing up to other people again types of updates.
  24. The problem is that those of us who weren't too lazy to train the old way in preparation for the smithing "revamp" now have a significant amount of Jagex's spit in our faces.
