As Jimi said, ranged is crap. I range necrolord but I just buy fractite arrows, not a big deal and faster setup than mage. That is the only time I range. I bind laws because they're great for keying c1s and also speed me up getting ready on normal floors (I key, so this is especially important). Do not do not do not bind arrows without a hex.

At least get t4 or so blazer for the odd times you mage. It's extremely cheap, token-wise, and improves damage signficantly. It's also good for glitch KOing stomp and luminescent icefiend in C1s- if it triggers right (happens a lot when 5 people are using it), it'll KO the last form and you don't have to wait through another phase. Gatherer is best for keying and good for farming herbs and mining ore for bloodragers. Berserker is, as you rightly identified, best for melee DPS, and desperado is similarly best for ranged. If you ever range, get desperado to at least t4 like blazer.

Spec and EEKS are fairly identical, couldn't say which is better there. Your inventory should be a lot of brews and a lot of restores, 2 ovls, an antipoison++, claws, maul if you're not using arma, teletab, and a uni pouch/scrolls in your yak. I couldn't give you anything exact for the brews and rests, because I use a divine, which skews my inventory toward restores significantly. It also varies based on team size and adequacy.

Story time! So I died at Nex to a nasty 650 "die now, in a prison of ice" plus a 200, because my team was too dumb to click the correct icicle. When I got back to my grave, this happened: Can see that a pile exists, but pile cannot be clicked. Wat. So after trying all kinds of [cabbage] to get it, I rage and teleport and decide to buy full ceremonial and go in again to see what I can do. This happens: The [bleep]ing items are stuck on the wrong layer. Only visible from the bank layer, when they should only exist on the lower layer. Rage. I try telegrab to no avail, and then decide to try sliding down with the pile right clicked and then trying to grab something. It worked!!! Got my stuff back. But seriously, this glitch is horrible and Jagex should feel bad.

Nex is not a casual boss. You need a ccbow and you need claws. If you don't want to get those, do a different boss.

1) Some teams might take you with rxbow, but they really shouldn't. It doesn't hit her. 2) EEKS is a good option, spectral would work too. DFS wouldn't be very good. 3) What do you mean by this?

What possible reason could there be for black dhide being better?

Karil's, v helm, d def, ext def and turmoil seems to keep everything but mages off me just fine.

I ffa'ed 4 nex kills so far. I went full arma EEKS rigour ruby bolts (e) and i always outdamaged everybody else using diamond bolts (e) and void. first 3 nex drops all went to me. I didn't get 4th kill, but by then my teammates all switched to the same setup as me. Interesting. What'd you do for blood form? I'm assuming you didn't melee? What was your spec weapon?

I'm surprised anyone can find buyers that high. It's obviously not going to stay in that range.

I want to say yes, because of all of her multi-target attacks, but it's possible that a 25+ man team with yaks full of brews/rests would be able to overwhelm her and get a kill. The accuracy of unpotted stats would be abysmal though. You're definitely not doing it in a 15 man or less team.

I don't think you're appreciating the difficulty of the boss. Trio Nex is harder than solo corp. She's designed for bigger teams, so if you want to trio her you'll have to pull out the stops. Also, no team will take you in black dhide and rcbow. If they do take you then they're not going to be getting many kills.

The balancing is irrelevant. You can make any boss as hard or easy as you want by turning its attack and strength levels up and down. Look at stomp on a c1 and then stomp on a c6 5:5. They are not the same. The bulk of the work on a boss is mechanics and graphics, and dungeoneering bosses all got those in spades. It would be easy to take the existing mechanics and graphics and rebalance them to work with overworld gear and supplies.

It actually pisses me off that my money contributed to this sorry excuse of an update. yeah, if there going to pit the effort into making new bosses- something that runescape badly needs- how about they make them permenant, and you know, actually worth killing? Yeah... I love how they added dungeoning bosses in BATCHES, repeatedly, without releasing a single overworld boss. And then we get one overworld boss. Whyyyyyyy

Do air battlestaves. For best results, have other goals that you're working toward and just assemble the staves while you're bankstanding- you can only buy 100/4 hours from the GE. I couldn't tell you the price, but I can tell you that it blows other methods out of the water as far as gp/exp/hr.

That's why I mentioned it was a lengthy process :wink: All those frozen key charges - surely you'd rather just have a set each? Not to mention the fact that KC isn't that hard to get. Would probably be better off just having the ones without ceremonial bring steel titans and ovl/turm the reavers.

Because its made for everyone, so even level 30s can get the drop if they have a good team. just a thought, isent it a bit odd that right after hati goes, we get another temp monster to hunt? would be intresting is the angle jagex is going for is to make a new short term mini-boss thing every few weeks. It's great- they waste all that programming and graphics on something relatively useless and then make it vanish!
