  1. ^^ Especially if you're doing Frosts for money. A yak will help your GP/hour immensely there due to staying the staying power provided by it's banking ability over a tortoise. Assuming you're using a cannon, both ext and turm are slightly diminished there due to your cannon doing most of the work (it should be doing most of the work if you set it up right) compared to the yak. After that, 88 herblore is cheaper then tumoil, so it's just so much easier to get first, and provides more benefit for the costs. Then get turmoil. Ovl are more of a "at your pace" thing, unless you start doing things like DKs, tds, nex and corp, where OVLs just help way to much to not go for fast. Agreeing as well. Nothing you could get could possibly increase your GP/hr at frosts more than a yak, so if that's your money source it's a no-brainer. However, if you wanted to consider learning TDs, you could switch it up a little. Get high enough for extreme ranged from frosts and then head straight to TDs with eagle eye/rigour (totally worth getting rigour for this, by the way) and piety, using the charms you get there to train summoning and the claws/effigies to train your prayer. Then at 95 prayer switch and start spending it all on 96 herblore. All up to you and what you enjoy, though. If you prefer frosts, do what the fine gentlemen before said; if you like TDs then follow my advice. Personally I'm a TD fanatic.
  2. Nobody gets cleaned by them either. Well, unless they have a 5m bank.
  3. Seek help for your gambling addiction.
  4. Worth noting that fire runes with rings of dueling are your best bet for exp for quite a while- probably until you start using the ZMI altar (I am not sure when this becomes best, anybody know?) Also, I'd assume the ess you've mined is pure-- make sure you sell that and use the money to buy TONS more normal rune essence for when you're crafting runes available to free play like airs and fires. Using pure ess on those runes is a gigantic waste of money. There's no distinction between the two unless you're making a rune that can only be made with pure ess.
  5. So what you're saying is, an area that's meant to favor teams, hence the "multi" designation, favors teams? What a calamity. My problem is not that multi favors teams, but that it looks like we're going to get a new high level slayer monster that forces me to go to a place that favors team PKing (aka instant death) just to kill it, which is an idiotic blend of skilling and mindless PK tactics. It just means that anyone who isn't stupid will HAVE to 3 item the thing, because at any moment you could essentially die randomly. Woo, good update? Also, please look up Korasi spec before you make yourself look more stupid. It has the same max as a normal hit in multi, which last I checked is not 200 for someone of my level. A 100% accuracy hit that can't be prayed against without being vulnerable to claws is pretty overpowered when you have multiple people using it on you.
  6. Players who are willing to pay 4.5b for 1 item have something to tell about the history of that cash. That amount can't been made on an honest way imo. pffffffffffffffffffffffffft There are people who got to 91 rc early when it was excellent money, and then hired a lot of runners and made insane amounts of money that way. They then invested in then-cheap partyhats/crackers-- lots of them. If they still have them today... That's just one example of how someone could have attained 4.5b honestly.
  7. You don't know how Korasi's special works. I'm done.
  8. Because Korasi special is awesome in multi. If you're worried about claws, go to the high risk world. They'll have to risk their claws to claw rush you. Yes, a 100% accurate attack that hits through melee prayer is pretty good, actually. And I don't doubt for a minute they'd risk claws.
  9. Oh, they had BETTER not put another monster in multicombat wilderness. Single combat is fine, because having to fight off a PKer can be fun/exciting. Multicombat is not, because 4 maxed people with a mix of claws and Korasi are not a challenge, they are an instant death sentence. Not fun, not challenging, just a way to lose your items periodically at no fault of your own.
  10. Thanks for the advice, guys. My issue with trying to start my own FFA is that the Nex community right now is TINY. Almost nobody does it, so somehow I don't see enticing people to FFA, which would only appeal to the proest of pros who absolutely have large amounts of money to blow. I'd be better off joining normal teams and taking the loss of effigies (longer trips though, spec restores would be annoying). I know there was a FFA community a few weeks ago, but clearly not anymore. Thanks for the help, though.
  11. Don't use diamond (e), use rune bolts. Diamond are only useful on high def monsters, which Jad is not. What you need to get is get all the healers on you, and then arrange them in a line so you're only tanking one of them. Do this by running sideways several steps. This works because only healers that are within attacking range of you can heal Jad once you've distracted them, the others will just sit there doing nothing. Outdamaging one healer (or even two if you can't get the line right) shouldn't be a problem at all with overload, rune bolts, and leech ranged/def.
  12. Huh, I didn't realize strength played that big a role in xp/hr. I maxed out my melees a looooong time before there was much metagame going on, so excuse my ignorance.
  13. True. Not really a problem yet, but if we ever do get some sort of rock lice or something with insanely high def and 10hp, it's all about the accuracy bonuses.
  14. That would be true except that the theoretical maximum DPS increase an attack bonus could give is equal to the actual DPS increase strength gives. That is to say, at 0 attack bonus fighting an opponent of infinite defense (absolutely ideal conditions for accuracy and worst for strength), a +1 attack boost would do the same for your DPS as a +1 strength boost. As opponent defense goes down or the player's attack bonus goes up, accuracy gets worse compared to strength. So, against any real opponent, str will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS beat attack, assuming equal bonuses. Of course, this means that against opponents with very (VERY) high defense, it could conceivably be better to use, say, ardougne cloak vs. fire cape for the +6 attack vs. +4 strength, +1 attack. But that's it as far as using accuracy bonuses instead of strength bonuses.
  15. Oh no it is not acts with diminishing returns. Strength bonus is added directly. Add X strength bonus, receive +Y max hit. It does not diminish- adding a certain amount of strength will ALWAYS add the same amount to your max hit (and thus average hit). Accuracy is diminishing. If you're only hitting 10% of the time and add 10000 to your accuracy, you'll probably go from hitting 10% of the time to hitting 98% of the time, which is a huge difference. If you are hitting 98% of the time and add another 10000 to your accuracy, you might move up to 99%, and would probably have been better off with 10 str bonus. Your accuracy can never reach 100% and is really hard to get over ~85%, so pretty quickly accuracy bonus becomes worthless compared to even a small strength bonus.
  16. You're going to choose to do less damage in exchange for having a "cool" ring that nobody besides you can even see that you're wearing? Best be trollin'
  17. You shouldn't mine for money, none of it is good. I know that assembling unfinished potions is pretty good cash at times, as well as picking mort myre fungus and hunting grenwalls (for lower levels, swamp lizards). Just throwing out things that don't involve combat here. Rune ore mining is a lot more frustrating and less money unless you get incredible luck with your world hops. Once you've accrued a decent amount of money (like 15m or so), you can start GE flipping, which is easy money and only gets better as you get more experience and a larger cashpile.
  18. ...Serious? I guess there were a lot of people waiting until after the prayer update to buy prayer levels lol. Should smooth back out within a week I'd imagine. Jeez 7k/dbone is a lot... I got my 99 prayer at 2.3k/bone, and back then we thought THAT was a lot.
  19. I wouldn't recommend mining rune ore. Lots of competition for what is, in the end, not a fantastic payoff at all.
  20. You get both ore AND urn charge, and can only have a maximum of 10 urns of a given type at a time.
  21. I'll take that as a "FFA Nex doesn't exist anymore"
  22. Accuracy can never be better than an equal strength bonus at any point. Against a target of infinite defense, 1 attack would be equal to 1 strength bonus, and that's as good as it gets for accuracy. Accuracy diminishes, strength doesn't, /thread.
  23. If you're using chastise against a champion team, you're in big trouble when they're down to one champion left- suddenly chastise does nothing and you're down a command, and if they play smart you probably won't be able to beat them. Completely stupid rule that overpowers champions, but there you are.
