  1. Hate to tell a mod that they are wrong but a whip on controlled is not the way to go. Because after a certain attack level (namely if you can wield a whip or crapier) strength is the only thing that boosts your exp/hr. For instance at az's using super attack potions and super strength potions netted me zero additional exp/hr vs only super strength potions. Hence the best way to go is to level strength to 99 with the saradomin sword or a crapier and then level attack and defense. Whip on controlled wastes dozens of hours maxing combat vs leveling strength first then attack and defense. Not really actually, the reason using a whip on controlled is better is because, unless you have a rapier, using a whip means you're always using the best DPS weapon in the game +1. It's not worth limiting yourself to a crappy weapon 1/3 of the time to increase your strength 3x faster at the expense of attack and defense. Using controlled does require patience, though, so I'd assume most people with the proper disposition to train str with a controlled whip would also just go get a rapier.
  2. i cant tell if thats a good thing or not? It's damn good. Think frost dragons but with more effigies and waterfiend-tier charms, but cheaper bones and no visages.
  3. I used to play with a full team of halberds when I was going for deflector. They're cheap and can attack any melee unit (excluding halberds, of course) without retaliation, which makes them absurdly good for trolling champions and knights, and they can one-hit mages and archers. Battle cry, shield wall, vigilance, and charge are good commands for utilizing halberds. I'm not sure if good counter-measures have been developed for that strategy yet, haven't played in months.
  4. I would definitely not bother banking them with a tort, it'd take forever.

First of all, does Nex FFA even still happen? What CC? What times of day in what timezone are active? Secondly, what is the generally accepted strategy/gear setup for FFA? I have or can get whatever equipment is best besides Pernix, so an ideal inventory/gear setup would be great if someone wouldn't mind telling me theirs. Is it basically just everyone bringing a ton of spec restores and clawing as often as possible, and then using diamond bolts or maul the rest of the time? Do claws even work well on forums besides smoke and blood? I'd imagine void with divine and ccbow with a helm switch would be ideal? Zerker (i) over archer (i)/onyx (I) for better claw spec damage? Ranger boots or d boots? How fast do kills tend to be in FFA? How big is a usual team? How common would you estimate her effigy drops are?

I do the same. I can run normal RS on full settings but when it's DG time, lighting detail, textures, etc go to minimum. Just a note: I've done a 20 minute warped floor with Grimy keying and I can tell you for sure that nobody cooked any food or made any prayer pots. While the door lag was more of an issue than usual, we all still soul split flashed no problem. It also ends up being faster to just die for prayer than sit around making rejuv pots, though it is really annoying to have to do so. At the end of the day, you have to realize it's just ~5-10k exp and not some horrible awful thing worth extending the floor by 10 minutes avoiding.
  7. It's not nearly as effective as the north lure for multikilling. I'd know, having spent a lot of my noob TD career down there killing one spawn. Two of the three spots are extremely easy to get two TDs attacking you at with no good way of trapping the offending demon once it's on you. If you have difficulty mastering the north lure, south is going to be nothing but frustration.

Regarding teleporting out right before door lag- even if it did work (which it sometimes would and sometimes wouldn't, in my experience), it'd waste a ton of time. There are all kinds of ways to eliminate deaths by door lag, but they all involve wasting such large amounts of time that it's better to just take the occasional bull [cabbage] death.
  9. Flashing protects is a bad idea. In overworld runescape, they're cheap to use, so it's a lot of effort and chance for failure for nothing. In Dungeoneering, you don't want to risk messing up by trying to flash protects- if you need a prayer, turn it on. What is good is flashing protect/soul split. Leave a protect prayer on and then switch to soul split for the tick that you hit so you can be protected and heal.
  10. If you flash correctly you lose no prayer, so... all of it. Practice flashing on weak things before you even think about attempting it somewhere where you could get "slaughtered" messing it up.

What do you get when 5 clowns with no armour, no hope of lasting more than 5 seconds in any one room, and the inability to stop double clicking on doors before seeing whats in the next room? Door lag as an excuse for multi-death 20 minute skipfests. Solution: Just spam ggs tele and you'll be fine since you all bind 120 laws. My face when Trollvellius meets 2 133 shades in full prom and gets door lagged
  12. Depends on how you define winning. I feel like I win because my rapier is still better than their CLS regardless of how good at ignoring math they are.
  13. How could you not prefer Jumu?
  14. green9090 replied to ghjkl's topic in Help and Advice
I think it has an idea of what doors will be where when it starts, but doesn't actually generate the graphics/NPCs until you open the door.

Loading once = more stress than repeatedly loading over and over throughout the course of the dungeon? I doubt it. I'd gladly wait 2-3 minutes for a dungeon to be generated and preloaded if it meant no doorlag. God that would be awesome. Start dungeon, grab drink, set up skype call, dungeoneer with 80% fewer deaths.
  16. Already got one :P Good. Stupid to get a berserker ring before a fury imo. berserker ring: +4 str for 5m fury: +2 str, +2 prayer for 15m ??? even more in berserker's favor if you have 300 rank Agreed for slayer, but if you're bossing somewhere you need mage def, it's all about fury.
  17. Yes, get zerker, and yes definitely go imbue it if you can stand it. Make sure you bring a good book or some season DvDs from a show you like or something though.
  18. I was so excited when I saw Trollvellius had the latest post here, and I was not disappointed. You are such an amazing parody of idiots. Are you Stephen Colbert in real life?
  19. Don't switch 50000 items every prayer swap, you'd be amazed how much that slows you down if you don't do it perfect every single time (and you KNOW you don't). Helm and weapon switch, that's it, with a d defender for darklighting. My preference with one-handed weapons is barrows gloves and deflector- if you have a 2h weapon use full void. Eagle eye and piety is a lot better. A LOT better. Get rigour if you can. Re: d claw specs without full void, I don't notice much of a difference if I miss the void bonus. They still hit very well, and increasing DPS for all the other hits is worth losing a bit of damage from claw hits, IMO.
  20. The fact that he leads by agreeing with me should be a tipoff.
  21. Alternatively- ask what you want to ask. The OP clearly does not ask what the most fun familiar to use while mining is (the answer to that would be dreadfowl).
  22. Sure we can. The update provided more ways to get prayer experience without providing more reasons, so the net effect of this update is a drop in the price of prayer experience. Sure, some crazy thing might happen to raise prayer demand, but this update would still dampen the effect of that. Put it this way- bone prices in the future will be lower than they would have been had this update not happened.
  23. I wouldn't say crash. They'll go down a little bit (~10% if I had to hazard a guess).
  24. Little offtopic, but if all I do is 2.5 DKs is it worth it to get ASN before rapier? (I'd assume yes, as rex is slower then supreme). Absolutely. Any regular magic combat at all justifies the arc stream.
  25. After eating obscene amounts of that stuff, bought for a tiny sum from the natives, I proceeded to cut down dozens of trees, mined out the natural ore deposits in the area, paid vast amounts of cash to the sawmill to get some planks, killed half a dozen cows for their sinew, smelted a dozen metal bars using unrefined coal, slaughtered 26 yaks for their hair which I spun into rope, then defaced several spots of natural beauty with hidey-holes and rope racks for the convenience of abusing a rare bird species or taking shortcuts through prior undisturbed routes. After all that, I still get that warm fuzzy feeling that I did my part to save the rainforest. This was so funny.
