Is the Zaryte Bow the best at anything?
You don't think 8-17% more accurate is huge? Okay. By my definition that's pretty significant, especially considering that the goal with the ranged weapon is just to hit 300 as quickly as you can to move on to a weapon that doesn't suck, which for both ccbow and handcannon almost always means about two hits (non-misses). It's also important to take into account the advantage of using barrows gloves and deflector if your melee weapon is one handed, which in my experience helps the crossbow more than one might think (though not as much as the melee weapon, obviously)

I strongly prefer ccbow with rune arrows, having used both for many trips. Handcannon is MUCH less accurate, which means it takes longer to get the shield off, which means less time spent using your good weapon. That could be partly that I use void, though, which favors ranged bonus from the weapon a lot more than dhide. Ccbow also has the advantage of not blowing up though, one time I got unlucky and lost my handcannon and spare within 3 kills, at 95 fm. I prefer D Hide as hitting a 250 or so, then my Steel Titan specing 200+ is better than me hitting 320 and my steel titan specing 0 due to Protect Range. Then karil's xbow would be better if you choose to use that logic. Yup, which I've also tried but dislike because it's basically impossible to flash SS with it. Ccbow is a good mix between being likely to hit but not likely to pray block your titan, and being SSable. As for the void, the main advantage is the huge prayer bonus from void making your pray pots go further and skyrocketing your melee offense, which is worth a couple extra titan spec blocks IMO.

Many people also refuse to sell their partyhats ever for any deal whatsoever. Not to say that you're not right about the price being > max cash, because I honestly have no clue what the price will be, but one person's sell price doesn't mean that will be THE price.

I always liked CLS at TDs due to being able to use a Defender. Rune Crossbow also allows for a Defender. I like Defender so much at TDs because it really helps with Darklight. I'm also like 55k tokens away from CCbow. According to RSwiki, it's about 85 coins per shot, given our high Smithing Levels. At the risk of thread derailment, I go back and forth between using a maul when I'm lazy and keeping a ddef in my inventory only to use with darklight (because, as you said, gigantic accuracy difference), or using a rapier with deflector and barrows gloves (I TD in void regardless of strategy) when I feel like getting faster kills and clicking a lot more. If I were doing the latter, I obviously would have to stick with the ccbow, but the zaryte bow would fit in nicely with the lazy maul strategy, especially with that nice low cost/shot and not having to pick up ammo.

I can definitely see it being a convenient alternative to ccbow and rune bolts at TDs used alongside a 2h melee weapon like the maul, since you don't have to pick up ammo. Depends on how expensive it is per shot, though.

This is technically true however you got the reason wrong, it has less to do with the small supply as with the people that have crackers arent in a hurry to sell them. I mean its almost not worth ANY price to try and sell them because of the amount of effort it takes to get one in the first place. If someone decides to sell it will never be cheap, even in the worst crashes for that reason When free trade comes out, the struggle to get one will be a lot less (namely: put offer for 1b+ in GE, receive cracker. As opposed to weeks of trading up and looking for deals even if you already have the cash).

Engine Team Q&As
LRC was mining and fishing, dg applies to all skills. Smithing hasn't seen any major improvement for a long time. My thoughts on a possible smithing update revolve around how Jagex could get around the existing bronze to rune table. Since it takes 99 smithing to make a rune plate from scratch, it would be very awkward to explain the production of higher level armor at levels below that. So there's not much room for expansion at 99 short of expanding the level cap, which I don't think they'll do. However, they've been able to get around this problem before by having our characters merely repair or reconstruct items. For example, you can combine a dragon sq, reassemble a dragon plate, and attach sigils and visages. In other words, our characters may be capped in their knowledge of primary smithing techniques, but could still be skilled enough in their secondary knowledge to perform many tasks. Perhaps we'll see the release of certain types of "shards" to be used in making new items. God I hope they aren't stupid enough to do that AGAIN. You guys remember what a boon godswords were to smithing, what with the blade assembly required? OH, and who could forget all the people training smithing to make dragonfire shields! And the dragon platebody! And spirit shields! Oh wait, none of those helped people with smithing levels at all, because the focus is still 99% on getting the pieces as rare drops and there are way more smiths than there are pieces that need to be smithed. What we need is something like that where the product is also untradable. For example, if Godsword blades and finished swords couldn't be traded once smithed, so anyone who wanted to use a Godsword needed to learn to put one together themself. THAT would have been a smithing update.

Primal - Whats the point?
Who wut were veng qfc? To my knowledge it's not been posted anywhere. I have my resources though lol. I had to piece a few missing bits together myself to come up with a plausible conclusion but I am almost certain next month features a dung quest with an additional bind as a reward, with 65 dung needed. ... You have some super secret information source that you're too cool to tell the rest of us about? Yeah, I'm calling troll.

Curses vs. Regular Pray
Yeah, the quest wasn't particularly challenging as I recall. I think there's some messing around in the wilderness, though, so you might want to get it done sooner rather than later so you don't have to worry about PKers. I know Jagex claimed they'd move quests out of the wilderness, but it really wouldn't be practical to do that in this case.

I still maintain that my plan was less risky, considering the pattern we had seen. I also doubt this is the end of red crashing. Crashing items often have little peaks on their way down. I am sorry that it didn't work out like I thought, though.- Am I doing it wrong?
Are you doing exactly this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BPwYuFRNSg ?- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Reds are bought out again (unanswered offers of 100m risings + cash for 1, 200m cash + ge for 2 with free trade), and greens aren't going for masks + cash anymore. Ah, but they did hit min first for a little while :P Anyway, I see this is a small interest spike, as a lot of people really like reds and jumped at the chance to buy them in GE. After those people are satisfied I wouldn't be surprised if it recrashed again, if not before ft then after.- Is it really free-trade?
This can't happen. Let's look at an item that's stuck at the wrong price in the GE. How about... elysian spirit shield. It doesn't trade in the GE because there are WAY more people who would like to sell their shield for that price than people who would like to buy at that price. The few outliers who want to buy elysians at their current GE price got their shields a long time ago and aren't affecting the market anymore. That leaves only people who are willing to buy elysians for under the GE price. Currently, the GE can't update because even if people want to sell and buy elysians at under the GE price, they can't do it unless they take their business elsewhere. After the free trade update, they'll just stick their offers in at 300m or whatever and complete them there. This will cause the GE to update downward rapidly because it will notice that, holy crap, people are trading elysians at 200m lower than I think they're worth. Tl;dr- the people who follow suggested prices closely will be quickly eliminated on one side and never get their trades done on the other side, causing the market price to shift away from the suggested price regardless of how stuck they are.- Revenant Dungeons
If its all about old-school nostalgia, then why world pvp worlds must go? I would say world PVP is the old school stuff, wildness is just for catering those 03-07. You don't know what "old" means, huh?- Is it really free-trade?
You could still force the price up just by choking out supply. If 500 people suddenly decide that they want all the dragon bones they can buy at 1k over market value, then yeah, the price is going to rise. The problem is that the price won't STAY there for any time. Once the manipulators run out of money or decide it's time to cash in, suddenly supply has doubled because we have not only the usual d bone sellers, but also the manipulators dumping their significant stocks. That means the price crashes right back to normal, and the vast majority of manipulators are out money. This exact same thing happens with restricted trade, as we have now, but the GE forces it all to happen in slow motion. The price slooowly rises up as the sluggish price adjustment mechanism rises it 5% a day. Then, when the dump happens, the price slooowly returns to normal. Now, during the rise phase it is almost impossible to buy any, and during the crash it's almost impossible to sell, but that's where junk trading comes in. First you have a rising item you can cash in at GE max instantly, and if you're unfortunate and miss the dump, you have junk for selling other rising items you might have. This mechanism is the only thing that made manipulation clans viable, and it's going away. Manipulation clans, as we know them, are dead. To stay alive they'd have to think of a different trick that works without junk trading.- Is it really free-trade?
The guide prices will be able to quickly move to the correct prices at 5% a day. This is good because it prevents the price from changing like 500% one day and then back down 200% the next day and then omg 1000%. The player price will be dominant because anything put in the GE away from it will either not sell or sell instantly. It's not regulated trade or anything like it. Tl;dr: don't worry about it.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I don't think divine has done much rising if any- the vast majority of this has been partyhat values dropping, and thus divine having a stronger trading value in comparison. As for white vs. divine, it depends on how long term you're talking. If you were going to buy something and walk away for a year, my choice would certainly be a white. However, in the short term divine is almost certainly the better option, especially if you're an active monster hunter who can actually put the divine to use as well as keeping it as an investment. I'm keeping a divine because I like it and it's a lot less risky than partyhats at this point. Also, if in a few months white is like 200m over a divine, big deal- I've already made like 80m in drops with the divine since I bailed on a red for it a few weeks ago. That's the problem with partyhats- they're PURELY investments and beyond that are worthless, so you've tied up 500m+ in something you can't use.- Wilderness and Free Trade Interview!!! - Answers On First Post!
Not that it's impossible for Jagex be to be late to the game here, but merch clans were already doomed just from free trade returning. Without the ability to use crashed merching items as junk, manipulation clans are a zero-sum game that far fewer people will be stupid enough to take part in. No need for Jagex to step in now, they've already accomplished the disbanding of merch clans, at least in the way we think of them now.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
The kind of people who snipe hats everyone knows are about to crash are also the kind to shout about their merching plans on the RSOF. Not overly surprising.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Yeah, blue is the only hat that looks likely to win the race and still be above GE value at the time of free trade coming out. White will be damn close, everything else is screwed. Will be fascinating to see what kind of value blue will have in free trade.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
And that's why white's street price now is the same as green's street price ~3 weeks ago?- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Nice  Not selling instantly at max means reds are already on the brink of heading lower. You got lucky. If you want a red, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to buy them when they hit min at GE, though it's extremely possible you could get a better deal when free trade comes out. Buying max is just a waste of a perfectly good 12m regardless of how you look at it, though, because once a partyhat hits max in GE it WILL hit min pretty soon after. - 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
