  1. Except, that, y'know, that would make no sense. Zaros having been a thousand years banished when the Godsword was created and all.
  2. I thought the same too at first, but watching video, i have to say that they did quite alot of work. So it's impressive. And it took 1 hour to kill the beast, so reps for not giving up. But if Nex wasn't trapped in the way they did, they would get their asses whooooped. The major reason i think it wasn't that impressive is that i think a legit duo might be possible, but they got completely whopped in just one phase. And well, the fact that it took nearly an hour to kill is just funny, as a good 4 man team could probably be much more effective(10 minute kills of 2(3) per trip). I don't think the idea was to do kills in the most efficient way possible.
  3. How is it impressive? They are exploting a glitch. I say it's a glitch because if this is how Nex is intended to be killed, then she's easier than Corporeal beast. Yeah, WAY easier than corp. Because a corp duo takes an hour of concentrated clicking and an entire inventory and yak full of brews, plus a huge risk, just for one kill. That video, glitch abuse or not, was damn impressive.
  4. I'm assuming it will be cash buyable, not needing rares. From what I hear the drops aren't ultra rare. I think Jagex legitimately wants these armors to change combat, making them available to a larger population than say: divines/elys. I would most definitely wait at least a month or so however. I disagree- look at the requirements for this boss. It's all but required to have at least 8 people with 96 summoning, overloads, and spending 200k+ per kill in supplies EACH, wasting 25+ minutes in prep time and then 6+ minutes per kill, only to get 5 kills a trip. These are all people who could easily go to TDs and make 4m per hour instead of doing Nex, and after the novelty wears off a lot of them are going to do just that because Nex is so expensive and time consuming, and it won't be too long before it's difficult to get a team of qualified applicants together. With that kind of limited supply, these armors are ideal for hoarding. I've already seen a lot of people cashing in partyhats for the armor because they seem to think it's a better option than holding partyhats through free trade coming out. We could easily be looking at something similar to, but slighter cheaper than, the divine spirit shield with every piece of this armor. But these other options like TD have some degree of liability so for instance if people keep milking claws and dragon pieces off them, it's obvious that they will eventually fall in price to where they aren't very profitable anymore. The difficulty of obtaining Torva armor and it's incredibly humongous demand will keep 1000s of players hunting Nex until they can get one. With Lootshare introduced, people just don't seem to care if they'd rather make more profit by doing something else other then hunting a boss to get an item they really want. It's only been 2 days since the armor was released so of course it's a good idea to hoard and stash in rares to trade them. This is old news. ...I don't see anything here that actually refutes anything I said. Am I missing something?
  5. ...Are you kidding? 1399 hp makes you un-koable in PvP and gives you an insane amount of time before you have to brew down in PvM like Bandos solos. The armor is a gigantic advantage, and any high level player is going to want it badly.

  7. Doesn't really matter what you were referring to- the discussion was about spending 50m to get from 1 to 85 dungeoneering. Of course I wouldn't pay 50m for a rapier now, at 94 dungeoneering, but nobody ever said they would do that. If you find low level dungeoneering training fun, great, good for you. That's called an opinion, and it's not a very common one.
  8. I got Torva legs the first night, sold them yesterday. Legs + disk (junk) + cash for red partyhat :D
  9. that and I think potion boosts and prayer boosts seem to play a role too. Sometimes I would have a friend turn off turmoil and immediately see rangers start piling him. So perhaps it's your invisible defense rating, that factors in level, prayer bonus, and defensive armor stats. Iiiinteresting! That makes the overload thing make a lot more sense.
  10. Oo, really?? Man I hope they retcon places like TDs to be similar. Is the boss also left-clickable?
  11. Making statements based on speculation sure is great! jagex stated that the bow is crossbow speed, so all in there that is speculation is the repair price, thus almost all of it holds up. I'll be VERY surprised if the repair cost is lower than that of chaotic weapons/armor, all of which are level 80 items. I've also already stated these thoughts previously in the BTS update topic, so i don't really see where i'm going off here... Plus we know that it's 2h, so that right there severely limits its usefulness.
  12. You do realise you just contradicted yourself right? If some can be more efficient at Td's by 'getting better' (lol vague) then the exact same thing can happen with Nex. I've done a few kills of Nex with a 15ish man team and her K.O potential isn't vastly different from Corp to be honest. Why is it a good thing that new armour comes out that nobody other than the richest can buy? Does it boost your virtual ego? Other than that, I see the prices of these items as absurd. Once again were going to go through the ridiculous cycle of what happened to divine and ely. Every piece that enters the Market will be snatched up by merchers that don't even use it for it's intended purpose making the entire update pointless. When will Jagex realise that being high level doesn't mean you automatically have max money. Yeah, you're right, let's just let the game end when you get level 80 in all stats and a 100m bank. That'd be much better. What is this bull [cabbage] about endgame content?
  13. This is nothing new- back when GWD came out Zilyana was insanely scary, and still is probably the most difficult of the four older GWD bosses. And then there's corp, who doesn't really have a gender...
  14. Yes, but we could have normal item drops on designated PvP worlds rather than bringing back the ability to hunt non-PKers (which is the option I would have voted for). That's a little bit of a separate issue though.
  15. In what way does that not fall into the category of "lie"?
  16. Can you prove that? No, but their story is ridiculous. They just happened to make a "poll" that maximizes the number of votes (and thus perceived interest) at the expense of any sort of objectivity or validity. Either it was an accident and it was fantastically incompetent, or it was a publicity stunt. It really comes down to how stupid you want to believe Jagex is- I'm not prepared to believe that they honestly can't predict what happens when you let everyone vote for everyone else.
  17. This is a really common argument in RS for some reason. People don't blame Jagex for making the GE ridiculously easy to manipulate, they blame players for doing the only logical thing and taking advantage of it. They don't blame Jagex for not being harsh enough about banning bots, they blame players who bot when they know the worst that'll happen is a temp ban and maybe some stat resetting. And now, they don't blame Jagex for encouraging players to vote multiple times by making a vote that allows it, but instead blame the players who did exactly what they'd be expected to do. The fact is, when you're in charge of controlling or organizing people, it's more often than not your own damn fault if those people don't do what you want. The key is to make what you want them to do be the best course of action- if somebody can profit from doing something you'd rather they didn't (manipulation clans, spam voting), then you need to CHANGE SOMETHING so that it's no longer a smart thing to do (remove GE limits, implement a login on the vote). In the case of the vote, anyone who thought for half a second about what a player who wants the wilderness back is going to do would realize, oh hey, they're going to write a script to vote over and over. That is Jagex's fault because is was a direct and inescapable result of making a petition in which anyone can vote an infinite number of times. Why blame players for doing exactly what Jagex all but instructed them to do?
  18. They pretty clearly lied. I refuse to believe that they're so stupid that they honestly thought the first version would be an accurate judge of anything- it was publicity and a way to demonstrate interest in their game. Not to say that they aren't incompetent, but in this particular case they were lying on top of that.
  19. You justbsaid that dragonfire shield is better then dragon defender. LOL. Last time I checked the defender has more total attack and strength bonus than the dragonfire shield... I was obviously referring to equal bonusus. DFS has higher strength bonus. Look out, it's the semantics police! A strength bonus will always be better than an equal attack bonus under any circumstances. This is clearly what Quyneax was talking about. Can we move on now?
  20. Dude, I hope so. That thing looks pathetic. Compare side by side the pics we have of that thing and Flesh Spoiler from Daemonheim. It's like they're from different games.
  21. It looks more like the "cosmetic robes" to me.
  22. Really? Really? I came so close to throwing up in my mouth after reading that. ...Why? I could have easily made 50mil in the time I spent from 1-85 dungeoneering with bad random teams, especially with all the ragequitters. 50m for 85 dungeoneering is an incredibly good deal. Are you telling me you don't think the best weapon in the game is worth 50m?
  23. If they don't play for fun, they should be removed from playing yes. Wooow, this is the champion level of idiotic ideas. I'm in awe. Well played, sir.
  24. Onyx is just barely worse than berserker on corp, but its protect value is actually helpful there. With dhide and max gear you can keep spear, fury, onyx ring, and barrows gloves/stat hammer, risking only nezzy/fighter hat, d boots, and ardy/fire cape as far as notable stuff rather than having to lose zerker (i). Very good cheap setup, my preference for FFA.
