  1. Ignorant? Pkers are less of a threat than revs. All you need is teleport/pray. Really, how hard is it people? If you die to a pker then you shouldn't even be in the wild to start with Last I checked revs weren't capable of 2 hitting me through melee prayer with Korasi's sword + spec restore.
  2. Yes, let's use "it was that way in the past" as the only thing that can make something good or bad. Excellent argument. I guess we need to remove the GE, new graphics options, make-X in everything, GWD, and a hell of a lot of other updates. After all, that's how it was before, so it must be better, right? Putting PKers somewhere where they can only fight other PKers was the best thing to come out of the anti-RWT revolution. We don't need to downgrade the game because some kids who can't kill people who are ready to fight want weaker targets to pick on. Why exactly is it a downgrade? Please don't say because it makes things for skillers more difficult. Its supposed to be dangerous, that's why the Wild even exists. What's the whole point of adding Revs? Just because these Revs are pretty much harmless doesn't mean Jagex intended it to be this safe haven for skillers. I know doing things in the Wild are a lot more safer and easier than before but does that really make it better? I actually think its pretty flawed as it is now. Besides they said they will relocate some of the content in the Wildy so it won't really bother skillers much... It's a downgrade because it's not good for anyone. PKers- real, legitimate PKers who kill people who are ready for a fight- benefit from only having a few PvP worlds because it's easier to find targets. Non-PKers can go about their business without worrying about somebody killing them just to be annoying. With free trade back, killing a skiller will be utterly pointless once again, because you get what they lose. You'll get at best a glory, and usually just a few pieces of food. Only immature trolls enjoy wasting specs just to annoy someone. That is literally the only demographic that benefits from mixing PKers and people just trying to get [cabbage] done. And please don't tell me that I'm just scared- I am not in the demographic that has to worry about PKers anymore. I just feel bad for lower levels who are just going to try to train agility or do a level 3 clue and end up getting claw specced by a bored noob. It doesn't add "danger" unless you're a total idiot, it just means that a stupid kid can waste your time at their own whim. Fun.

  4. I'm not sure what "most people" do, but smart people know that stat hammer specials have hugely diminishing returns. Once you've gotten 2-3 successful hits (on corp, which is the only place people use it now), more will do virtually nothing. Even after one, the extra 150k it takes to try again isn't likely to be worthwhile unless you're in a duo or something. The way I've seen stat hammers used is 2 specs, chug a spec restore, and then spec a third time. Very rarely would you pull it out again after that.
  5. It's more the fact that you have to spend that 9m every 60 kills, meaning that you spend 150k every single kill. Worth it? Probably not. If this boss requires multiple styles to use, you'll have to change weapons, and don't Pvp items auto degrade a minute when you first put them (while in combat of course), that combined with the boss "hopefully" taking longer then a minute to kill, I'd guess significantly less then 60 kills per hammer. Sure, if you're dumb enough to not bring a primary weapon...

  7. Absolutely agreed that there should still be pvp-free worlds. There's no benefit for PKers or skillers to be able to attack each other- what, you want to kill an agility trainer for a load of cake? A clue scroller for a few monkfish and a spade? An air orb enchanter for 100 cosmics and a load of glass balls? Come on now, the only reason to have wild on every world is so 13 year olds can act tough by killing unarmed opponents just for their own satisfaction. Stupid.
  8. While I definitely agree this will be true, I'm still worried as to how Jagex plans on keeping the game bot-free or almost bot-free. They don't, they've just realized that restricting trade did nothing whatsoever to harm botting or RWT, so why keep punishing everyone else?
  9. Wow, you mean he thinks giving hackers a much larger financial incentive to hack might increase instances of hacking? Lol, what a moron. But yeah, any players worth keeping are going to adjust and move on. A lot of idiots will probably do a poor job adjusting ("selling green mask!" "I buy 125m meet me edge bridge" "omg a pile of coins on the ground in the wildy! *hops over*), and that is okay. We need some sort of foil for idiots to stop the game from being so damn full of them.
  10. It sounds like maul might end up being the best second if you can get your hands on this new Zarosian bow, but we'll have to see if it's really as good as it's made out to be.
  11. @ Laura: Which are extremely valuable to the maxed out players who are likely to be doing either.
  12. -2450 total -95+ all skills -99 all buyable skills -105+ dungeoneering -Divine -All useful equipment from that newfangled GWD boss -Maybe a partyhat
  13. Um. Santa hats were perfectly fine at GE price and removing caps wouldn't have affected them at all. Also, Santas were 10k at one point. Also 500k. Also 5m. Not sure where you get the idea they were "always" 25m- they've had a slow, general uptrend like every single other rare.
  14. Charms get lootshared though, and they're untradeable. I'm looking forward to the quest and the wolf. I'll kill him many times before the end of the month to stockpile some gloves. Thats what I was thinking too, while everyone is focused on this Zaros boss I want to stockpile as many gloves as I can for slayer. The dwarf quest looks fun too, I hope it has some nice requirements. Remember the first quest of the year last year? They tend to like starting off with a bang. Making this untradeable would be a double edged sword. After everyone had gotten all the items and placeholders for the the boss would be empty. It's better to encourage competition, it's part of what boss hunting is all about. Lower levels win too because now they can go to bandos while the maxed players move on. IMO the best way to do it is to make some tradable drops and some untradable drops. For example, how awesome would it have been to make all the GWD armor and secondary weapons (so Arma, Bandos, ZS and SS) tradable, but then make godsword shards and hilts untradable? Then owning a godsword would have been an awesome accomplishment, but there would still be a reason to keep going even after completing all four godswords.
  15. Look at the dragon defender update. Do you think Jagex has learned their lesson about instanced monsters? Lolno.
  16. Speaking of misconceptions, the Guthixian edicts have nothing to do with balance between the two factions. The edicts forbid direct intervention in Runescape by a god, in an effort to prevent another God War. Has nothing to do with humans or mortals at all unless they're trying to bring a god back into this plane (see: Azzandra, Bilrach).
  17. Seems like the entire market crashed so people could have cash for free trade. If I was a would be invester the first things I would dump is my battle potions. I am so looking forward to people buying/selling everything for twice what the GE price is once free trade returns. Just because the money exists and because they can. You really don't understand how the economy works, huh?
  18. It won't hit 25m. It might stabilize at 70m for a little while, but prices like that will attract hoarders like crazy. It'll be back above 100m within a year unless something crazy happens like one of those big time hoarders dumping thousands of them. Well looks like you were right, its already going back up - at 73mil again. This is a relief, buyers remorse sucks  Dont feel too bad, I bought a Santa before the free trade/wildy announcement (around 100mil) and look at em now. Yeah, I "sniped" TWO disks of returning hours before their street price crashed. Very sad :(
  19. I don't know, but I have 5. I feel you man.
  20. Well then it's a poorly done poll, isn't it? Wouldn't it be better if they just sent a message out to 50,000 active members asking the poll? This would be more then enough to be representative of the population of 10,000,000 down to a very small margin for error. Now I'm no statistics expert, I'm the type who only understands basic statistics for interpreting data but wouldn't this have been more effective if they really needed an honest answer? It would have been more effective, however it would have defeated the ultimate purpose of pulling a publicity stunt to try and recapture the people who left in 2007. The problem is they left and moved on, and so did Runescape. They will never be able to recapture what they lost and I think this poll is beginning to show them that. The thing here is that you can't go by the book, in the statistically accurate sense, on this one, simply because if they did what you are saying, many would rant that they didn't have the opportunity to vote or that their opinion wasn't accounted for. Those players would be right. For that reason, this is the fairest way this could be handled, even though it isn't flawless. Any high school graduate would tell you that's bull [cabbage], but yeah, players would rant. Big deal. Players rant about everything. Edit @pulli: are you [bleep]ing kidding me? Did you forget the part where bots signed random names from the high scores to the petition? Get off your lazy ass and vote with your login info so they know it's you.
  21. Inb4 it adds a smithing gimmick Jagex clearly intends to help the skill but which is utterly deserted within the week.

  23. 10 million active players? Lmfao.
  24. Berserker (i) is ALWAYS the best melee dps in any situation, period. But yeah, you might as well get an onyx ring while you're getting 300 rank. It's nice for lowering risk at corp and for DKs and TDs.
  25. I dunno Alex... kids these days with their green dragons and their fruit bat scrolls and whatnot do indeed make enough in other methods that I don't see anything under 800k attracting enough runners to really get a good exp rate going. You need enough kids running for you to spend a lot of your time trading or it just isn't worth it versus running yourself, and you're going to be competing with other very rich players to get that gaggle of noobs working for you.
