  1. don't die, kill the boss, and get your xp and tokens Well not everyone plays solely for those reasons. For example trying to earn every dungeoneering title, trying to earn a specific item from a boss or slayer creature, end the game with the most cash, playing for the enjoyment of figuring out a dungeon and the challenge of killing a boss, trying to earn xp for a specific skill (smithing, mining, fishing, or even combat xp), finishing a dungeon before a friend does. And some people play fighting games to do all the moves and enjoy the graphics. The fact is, most people going into Daemonheim have the goal of earning dungeoneering exp, and some of them have decided to do it poorly just because "that's the way it's meant to be played" or some rubbish.
  2. Uhm "professional player" is such a stupid term.. It is a self-proclaimed professionalism. Anyone who gives himself that name is just full of himself. Professional gaming means you game for a living- he earned money from competing in tournaments. It's not a pretentious label, it's what his job was called.
  3. There is a difference- a noob makes armor in dungeoneering because they haven't realized it's useless yet. A scrub makes armor in dungeoneering because damn it they want to and no efficiency nerd is going to tell them what to do no matter how many "facts" they throw at them.
  4. The comparison works quite well- are you thinking about what you're doing, or locking certain techniques away from yourself arbitrarily? "Cheap" Street Fighter tactics are analogous to math and logic in regards to how you play RS. To reach any sort of competence, you need to shed ideas about collecting all your own stuff and choosing weapons because they're pretty and think about optimization.
  5. This is an excellent exploration of the people who play for "fun" and refuse to really understand what's going on around them. People who simply won't listen when they're told that they're training inefficiently (like someone who collects all their herbs and makes different potions with all of them), or use a CLS because "it hits higher." They're not really having more fun than anyone else, they're just refusing to think about their actions (or maybe aren't smart enough to understand how), and look down on people who try to optimize their time.
  6. Scammers who weren't reportable? You could always report someone for trying to trim armor or play the "trust game," that's totally different from paying someone for a legitimate service up front, like what this thread is about. I'm quite sure you're remembering something else, and since by your own admission it's not in the rules now and I can tell you for a fact it never was, why not just back off and stop trying to catch me slipping up? Don't worry, you'll do it some day.
  7. Oh Christ, you again? What, do you follow me around waiting for me to be right so you can be loudly wrong at me? They started banning for trust trades, but that was because they were mistaken for RWT. It was never a hard rule that you couldn't trust trade, it was just that Jagex might lock you up and throw away the key if they misinterpreted the situation. Presumably they'll be less stupid this time, but we'll see.
  8. Trust trades aren't against the rules, they're just not recommended because they COULD be scams. But yeah, the problem is that pro DGers are going to have a pretty high price for this sort of thing, and the aforementioned scamming.
  9. I expected you to know better. Go look at chaos tunnels and tell me there are no bots... Go look at the price history of dbones , and tell me they rose to 4-5k each after free trade was removed. I'll garantuee you, you will change your mind. I guarantee you I won't change my mind. Man selective memory is awesome. There are FAR more green dragon bots now than ever before.
  10. Sure, but that's not the argument Unknown was making. Deflation will drop everything equally, including bones, so it's not going to cause people to move from TDs or GWD to frost dragons due to higher profit.
  11. I'm not buying it- how often are GWD items really lost in PvP? DK rings are already cheap enough that zerker is the main profit, and I doubt a lot of people PK in those either. Claws might be lost enough to make a slight impact, but the influx of new PKers wanting the best spec weapon will almost certainly balance that out. The main market impact is going to be whips crashing, because that's the only expensive item that regularly leaves the game through PvP. People using the other stuff you mentioned are also going to be safing like crazy and not dying often at all. How often do you see someone in full Bandos and claws doing DMs?
  12. Right, but they both add to the net supply of prayer exp. Cut out dragon bone botters, which are a huge percentage of prayer exp added to the game, and you affect both frost and dragon bone prices (as well as ourg and dagganoth). Cut out them and new ones will come.. - Heck if it wouldn't be viable to bot, normal players would go there.. The limitation is not the difficulty to kill X/hour.. It is the limitation on spawn-time/hour. And a lot of bots have to be removed before the kill-time becomes substantional to the spawn time! You think green dragons are going to be packed on every world when they can attack each other? Maybe the chaos tunnels, but the overworld spawns are going to be pretty dead. That times over a hundred worlds is a pretty big supply difference however you cut it. They were packed before wilderness removal.. The bot owners answer to pkers was: just send more bots with 3/4 items only. No they weren't. Not like they are now.
  13. Right, but they both add to the net supply of prayer exp. 15. Are you KIDDING me? They specifically advertise a new grave in the BTS and then just give us a pretty costume for our old one to wear? That's really the sort of thing you should clarify in the BTS to avoid pissing people off. I wouldn't have been disappointed with not getting a reward from this lame quest if they hadn't specifically lead me to believe it would be worth doing.
  16. No, because except in very rare cases all skilling items were correctly priced in the GE, meaning if the trade limit didn't exist they'd still cost the same amount. The reason skilling is so expensive is because people are willing to pay for the levels. They'll do that with or without the trade limit.
  17. ...What are you talking about?
  18. You mean when 1.5k was worth the same as 2.5k+ today? And before curses came out? Yeah, I remember that.
  19. Makes sense. The last time botting took a hit, yew logs and pure ess got much more expensive than they used to be. I wonder if the bots will move to blue dragons.
  20. Agreed, I can't agree to kill any and all non-pkers in the wildy to show them who's boss and to make them lose all of their items  Wow, you guys sure are cool. Do you beat up little kids in real life, too?
  21. No. However, I'd be absolutely shocked if it missed more often on Nex than corp, because corp has insane slash and crush defense as well as being partially immune to non-spears. Nex could have much much higher defense than corp and still be weaker to hits from the stat hammer.
  22. You are wrong. Wrong. You still wield it when drinking the spec rest, or waiting for teammate to xfer, so its still a minute max ^.^. Obviously you've never pro corped before. You're right, I haven't, but that's irrelevant, we're not talking about corp. We have no idea how many Hammer specs you'll need for this guy if any to begin with. All I've said is I don't think the statius hammer will last you 60 kills. You can't tell me I'm wrong until the boss comes out and people start trying it. (btw, you don't have to say "wrong" twice) The hammer's special is percentage based, so it's highly unlikely that the mechanics of using it on Vex will change much from corp. First hit is 35%, next hit is 35% of 65%, next hit is 35% of that, etc. Very quickly diminishing returns regardless of the target. It's not so much relevant that you've never pro corped before, but it is relevant that you've never used the hammer before.
  23. Last I checked you couldn't distinguish revs from other mobs on the minimap. It's not hard, you big babies: You see a white dot on the minimap, you run in the other direction. My point was nothing other than the fact that PKers are more dangerous than revs. If you see a rev you don't have to run and log.
  24. Yeah, but they won't disappear. His point was divines being LOST in PvP, as in, one guy loses it and nobody gets it. Ninja'd
  25. Wait, spirit shield value will increase as they become more common? He/she is probably referring to the fact that Nex will be the substitute boss, instead of the Corporeal Beast. However, this ignores any possibility that there will be less Divines lost from PvP, although, not many people pk with Divines anyway (at least, from the last time I pk'd) Divines lost to PKing was about as common as partyhats lost to PKing. Maybe less, because if you're using a divine you can go to +1 and basically always keep it.
