Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Nope, not any more than unwrapped ourg bones existed before this update. Jagex seemed to have no trouble making new items for that though. The trouble here, though, is not whether this makes sense in the context of the game. That's subjective. The issue here is that from a game balancing standpoint this is just BAD. No arguing it, this was a stupid move for balancing the Godwars dungeon. I am amazed so many people think they can counter that with "but he's an ourg!" No, that's not a good enough argument.

What I actually said was INSTEAD OF THE MAIN UPDATE FAILING. Meaning the main update did not fail, and something else did in its stead.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Go to GWD at a peak time and look at Bandos on some non-LS worlds. He is fairly crowded on every single world.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Um, nope, I mean the oversight this thread is about (easiest GWD boss gets good 100% drop, harder bosses ignored completely). What oversight are YOU talking about? Bandos kills don't take much longer than a minute. There are a lot of worlds, and at least all the lootshare ones are constantly packed. 70 times a minute makes perfect sense to me.

You have to keep in mind that the bones will also halve the time you spend running to and from the altar. With that in mind, they should become viable for ultra rich people who want 99 pray NOW at like 8-10k, perhaps higher. Dagganoth bones hold their value, and they are MUCH MUCH lower exp/gp than dragon bones.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Yup, instead of the MAIN update failing, they just managed to make a thoughtless addition that unbalanced GWD. Meh, I've seen worse. Nope.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Major freakout is because Jagex doesn't listen to anything else. The problem is that Bandos got a new drop and none of the other bosses did. Bandos was already by far the most crowded boss. So what the hell?

Thank you :)

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
You know GWD came out well before summoning, right? You don't NEED a summon for any of them.
-
Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
I'm pretty sure that if this were the case they would have just done it all at once. It's a pretty tiny update to create 4 new items that don't do much.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
But they're "unholy." This would be the first unholy item to give prayer experience, doesn't really seem consistent.
-
Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Unholy ashes? Which do what? It wouldn't exactly make sense if they gave prayer exp...

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Well, Zilyana could be made of Icyene bones, and Kree made of giant aviansie bones. K'ril I can't think of a good drop for off the top of my head, but he needs something nice as well.

Content wise it is balanced still. You got to kill a tough monster to get it. Graardor is not the toughest monster in the GWD, but he is the one who got the neat new drop. THAT is why it is unbalanced. I'm not saying that Graardor doesn't deserve these bones, just that every other boss deserves something similar MORE. They will not go anywhere near the price of d bones. You can't go out and farm these like at the green dragons, they're worth twice as much exp, and not many will end up being banked compared to how many drop. Of course they aren't.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Random perks should never be added in place of balanced content. I'm not saying take the ourg bones away, because they DO make sense. But I feel it makes an equal amount of sense for the rest of the GWD bosses to have good 100% drops, and I'm at a loss for who the HELL would think it would be okay to add to Bandos and not all the other bosses.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
Unfortunate, because the alternative is that the people who decide if content is balanced aren't thinking anymore.

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
As if poor General Graardor wasn't crowded enough (it's gotten to the point where it's hard to find a NON lootshare world to solo him on!), he now drops the highest exp bones in the game. ALREADY General Graardor was the easiest GWD boss and dropped stupidly well considering how weak he was. Why didn't Commander Zilyana, K'ril Tsutsaroth, and Kree'Arra get special 100% drops worth 15k? They take MUCH more resources and higher levels to kill, and drop less on average than Bandos unless you are lucky enough to get a hilt. It is ridiculous to suggest that it is in any way balanced to add 15k to the value of every Bandos kill while leaving the rest of the God Wars dungeon alone. Plus, goodbye any reason at all to ever visit the Zogres. I thought the reason THOSE bones were special was because they were ancestral ourg bones prepared in a specific way, not just some freshly dead ourg. It's funny, because I've often thought that the corpse of a godly general should be worth more than "big bones," or even "bones" in the case of Zilyana. Surely the bones of Saradomin or Armadyl's favorite general would gain us a bit more favor than the bones of a level 2 goblin. And since K'ril is a demon, it wouldn't really make sense for him to drop bones... But some sort of unique and valuable item obviously needs to be added to his drop list as well. This is also posted on the RSOF in the hopes that a Jagex mod will see. If you feel like adding support to that thread, the quickfind code is 15-16-916-58787054.

Being a High Level-Really That Great?
I am guilty of this as well. I started way before Runescape had sound, so no newbie melody for me... I used to like to reminisce by visiting Runescape Classic with my level 68 version of Green9090, but I got locked out because I hadn't had internet for a while when they decided to lock it up to everyone who hadn't logged in in 6 months. Damn them... I miss RSC :(

To the first article- there is mention of lower level updates being important to keep them playing. Um... no. Have you looked at the quest list lately? Have you seen how crowded most skills are below level 60? There is enough low level content to keep low levels entertained all the way until they are high levels. We do not need any more. Ever. The part of the game that is missing- not broken, not underdeveloped, but missing entirely- are the high level advantages in most skills. They just simply end, before you're even halfway to 99 (by exp). That is a problem. What motivation do the low levels have to train to high levels if there's no advantage to it? None at all. To the second article- you forgot addy bolts for Zanik's crossbow; an oversight that makes the comparison almost completely invalid. Though I would guess that it would perform more poorly than a rune crossbow with broad bolts, without giving the bow it the chance to perform at its fullest, the experiment doesn't mean much.

Your skills are still too low to feel it. You're a decent level, but you still have so many things to shoot for. When you start running out of goals, that's when it gets depressing.

Fletching, firemaking and cooking - Skillcapes of dirt?
Firemaking is actually kind of difficult in my opinion, because you have to constantly pay attention. This makes it much harder than fletching, cooking, fishing, woodcutting, and several other skills. If it weren't so cheap it would also be harder than the money skills like herblore and crafting, but since those cost so much they still win.
