With your stats + 20 prayer bonus around 10 prayer potions for a 'normal' task.

A task of 183 fire giants uses 7 for me inside the chaos tunnels.

 

Hellhounds in Kuradels dungeon would be about 6-7 too I'd say. (I have similar melee stats as you)

It all depends on your prayer bonus and what your task is.

You're going to use more prayer potions wearing bandos on a steel dragon task then on a dest devil task in proslyte, for example.

Another big thing is how much you pay attention. If you turn off prayers when you are out of combat, they'll greatly reduce the amount of pots you will use.

In general I grab around 12 spec restores (claws) and 6-8 pray pots. In veracs and prossy top that well does it for me. If you don't have claws or spec restore, take more pray pots. It's not as if inv space is a big problem on most slayer tasks.. And always grow your own ranarrs! I bought like 200 seeds when they were dirt cheap and that way you will be able to be a lot more reckless with it. I never turn off piety while on task :D a lot more relaxed training

Don't grow your own ranarrs. Opportunity cost isn't worth it. Farming snaps/torstol/lantadyme would provide you with enough money for far more prayer potions than the ranarrs your farm would give you.

 

Ranarr herbs are what 6 k each? So if I farm snaps instead at 12 k each I can then sell them and get more than double the number of prayer potions you did from farming your own ranarrs, due to the finished ppot being less than the ranarr herb itself.

 

OT: Use piety as often as you can. The only places where it may not be worth it is when your cannon is doing a significant amount of damage (~65% of your total or higher) and even then Id say still use piety.

why would you do that? Piety is not only usefull to make you hit higher, but also to get hit less often, because it increases your defence.

Why be bothered by flashing when pray potions are so cheap?

I can use Prossy when I don't flash piety. Therefore, I don't need useless melee gear in my bank. I think I'm saving money doing that.

What is your question? The topic title leaves a lot to the imagination and the OP doesn't help. If you're asking if you should the answer is yes. If you're asking how many ppots you should bring there has already been a wealth of answers given about it. If you're asking about how good your set up is then the answer is upgrade to a berserker ring, a firecape/SWcape/ardy cape. For the cape if you're going to be using bandos and want to maintain optimal prayer bonus use SW cape. If you're sticking with prossy/veracs go with fire cape for sure. Use an ardy at places where you need the stab and prayer bonus.

I still need thieving raised to do Ardougne Diaries up to hard. Also, my question was how many prayer potions are used on average per task if using Piety.

i'll assume glory since you didn't say one and i doubt you are using fury - so 16 prayer bonus

 

at 70 prayer you will use 19.5 (4) dose prayer potions an hour using piety with that setup. to decrease this number, get a cape with a prayer bonus (soulwars, fire, ardougne) or get a fury instead of a glory.

I only have 23m, so I don't really want to waste all that $ on an amulet yet. Ardougne Cape 3 is probably the cape I'll get, but for now, would a God Cloak work?

Fury is 100% worth it. I would buy it and keep it.

It's not used, it's temporarily allocated.

 

What you're doing is wasting money on prayer pots and slower kills by not temporarily investing in a fury.

+2 Prayer makes THAT much of a difference that I'd be wasting $??
