Full armour (any kind, it makes no difference) and vambraces (again any kind) reduce your mage ability therefore meaning you fail the curse more often (meaning you can cast it multiple times on the same NPC). Whatever you cast against should have two things: 1. A safe spot where you can attack and it can't. 2. A high mage defence. I have heard that the caged wizard behind the stairs in Varrock castle is a good target. If you want to raise HP cast an aggressive spell such as fire strike etc. I'm not a PKer so this is all second-hand info - treat it with caution I might be wrong :) df

You can buy spades for next to nothing at any farming store. df

 mutter, mutter ... getting old... eyesight not what it was.. Edit: scrap any advice. I can't see enough. Sorry df

If that is 11k yews I'd think twice because 11k yews = 2.75-3.3M which is pretty much the price of a whip. Selling 11k yews at once you'd be likely to get the top end of that range. df

It might be worth mentioning now that most players crafting nats (those not using the abyss anyway) do not use the Shilo bank but instead they use the noted essence / general store method. The bank method is cheaper but its really slow, plus you can use the general store method without doing Shilo quest. df

Is it Mos'Le Harmless from Cabin Fever? df

If you have glories you may wish to try crafting body runes and glorying back to edgy. You won't sell the bodies you craft (unless you find someone training a mage pure) but the xp rate is higher than fires now the wall is gone and normal ess is so cheap you'll get to 44 for next to no cost. df

It depends on your agility, defence and mage levels really. 1. You can get attacked by those broodoo mages but they don't do much damage, just lower stats and amybe a few hp 2. You could get poisoned but if you're using the shop method you can pick up more anti poison on your round trip. 3. The rate depends on how long you can run for. I wasn't really timing my runs when I did it but I reckoned on 0.5K per hour (someone else should give a better estimate). The risks aren't that high but spend a bit of time finding your way around if you haven't already. If you are using the sho method keep an eye out for ess stealers - they're annoying. df

If you want advice other than merchanting (which needs more money than 1k to start) post your skills and if you are p2p or f2p And don't beg, people don't like it and you won't get anything anyway. df -
I would say definitely start on the slayer skill because its a great way to train combat. I personally use the Lost City master because Edgeville gives me worse assignments. Definitiely start farming if you want to raise herblore, I'm only level 38 (I think) and I'm sitting on enough herbs to gain at least 4 herblore levels. Training fletching was good for me because I cut everything myself (16000 willows  ) which was tedious but I got enough wc xp to cut magics and enough tree seeds (from bird's nest randoms) to raise farming really quick (like 12 acorns 12 willows 6 maples and 3 yews not to mention loads of fruit tree seeds as well). However, contrary to popular opinion fletching is not quick easy money. A lot of people fletch and not many people buy so you have to alch yourself. Plus to get good money from it you have to craft your own nats and cut your own yews so its actually quite slow. And definitely do the teleport quests it'll save you loads of time. df

Excellent. Thanks a lot folks. df

Right, I got my 44rc and I'm alching a few k of yew longs to get some glories together. The problem is how to get ess pouches. On my sightseeing tour (1 iteming just to have a look) I lasted about a minute. So I came back in armour, just rune legs and plate, d long and glory (on reflection a one click tele might be a lot better  ) and a full invent of food. To be honest I didn't last much longer. :( Does anyone have any tips or tricks? Cheers df

Only bolts (they use chaos runes hence chaos gauntlets) df

Barbarians in great hall (to north of barbarian village). Safe spots. Food on tables. All you need really. df

They don't appear until you enter the room. Take the napkin to the top floor, go into the room which the mad professor is not in. They will appear on the table. Or at least that's what happened to me :D df

How to train runecrafting to a good level for money making?
dogfever replied to magictv's topic in Help and Advice
Oh yeah, do the abyss minigame/zammy mage thing first as well, you'll get a small ess pouch (holds 3) and if you go into the abyss you can kill leeches to get a medium ess pouch as well (watch yourself in the abyss mind). These pouches will make levelling that little bit faster. I tried cosmics myself but with low agility I found the run to the altar too far to make the process efficient. Also cosmics require more expensive ess to make now. A method I didn't try but might work is doing bodies (they won't sell either, but they have higher xp per craft). You can use edgy bank and the removal of the wall means that the body altar isn't too far away. df -
Minigames: the Good, the Bad and the Pointless
dogfever replied to Umega's topic in General Discussion
I believe the range mini-game is also useful for training range pures (no hp xp) I heard that brimhaven agility dungeon xp rates sucked, is this wrong (I have to train it eventually even if it is a mindless clickfest)? df -
Plus another 15k to get it poisoned, unless you can make poison(s) Both if you can afford. Long if you can't. df

How to train runecrafting to a good level for money making?
dogfever replied to magictv's topic in Help and Advice
The fastest cheap way to raise rc is to buy a lot of impure ess for 10 ea and craft airs. You can then sell the airs, maybe even make a small profit. Be aware that the airs market is not very stable and that RC is a slow skill to raise unless you pour a lot of money into runners. Level 44 is what you'll be aiming for (nats). If you aren't p2p then there isn't much money to be made in runes except perhaps airs but like I said the market isn't exactly great. df -

dogfever replied to 1hitaquitta's topic in Help and Advice
You can buy a spiny helm from any slayer master. They aren't expensive. df -
Ok, you could mine iron/coal and smith cannonballs You could grow rannars. Or there's always merchanting if you have the startup capital (rune merching is supposedly quite simple) df

Fish lobs at Catherby (if you can stand it) sell raw for 250-300ea df

Help needed-- fastest way for me to make money???
dogfever replied to Aneron's topic in Help and Advice
When members: Don't fletch, even though you can get to lv70 quite quickly then only real way to make money is to cut everything yourself and craft your own nats. This all gives great xp but it ain't fast. You have lv44 RC, you could nat run the abyss, this would require a few glory ammies (say 10 so 700k initial investment) but people reputedly make several hundred thousand an hour doing this. Now (f2p): You could mine coal and iron and sell steel bars for 600 ea (or coal for 200) Or cut yews but the market isn't great atm. df -
It's a fairly contrived route to Throne of M and Royal Trouble (Fremmy Trial and Heros needed). In addition the initial investment required for a reasonable return is high. I can't imagine many people going to all that trouble for flax to be honest. Besides atm the bowstring market is very much dominated by demand, people selling in Seers Bank rarely have to shout more than once before someone buys their strings. So the market could probably bear an increase in production without really damaging the price of flax/bs. df
