If your calculations are correct (I don't see why they aren't, in fact it might be a bit less than that to mine/smith/sell) then mining yourself would seem to be the best option (more cash and more xp - high mining is always good). df

I agree, although I would say that buying coal atm might not be the best idea. I've heard a few people say that autoers are moving towards coal after the ess update, it this is true then the whole coal/steel narket might be in for a bit of an upset soon so I wouldn't go buying coal at more than 150 for a little while. Obviously you'll be fine if you're mining it yourself (more xp and more profit too). df

Read books, browse forums (these ones mostly), get worked up about how long it takes me to fish lobs and generally try to ignore the other people around me (what is it about fishing that attracts so many flamers, spammers and idiots?) df

Members is pretty much better for anything. Whatever you choose to train, it will be quicker in members, so yes, get members. As for training in members, I would say that depends very much on both what you want to achieve (money, skill total etc.) and whether you intend to stay a member permanently or if you are looking for advantages that will be kept if you go back to f2p. I'd say just do whatever interests you, df

Hope that helps df

There are some skill pures who do not train combat skills at all. One in particular (I forget the name) has lv 99 in a large number of non-combat skills. I expect he has been playing longer than me. All of this is besides the point anyway which is that JaGex don't just award modships to high level players. They award them to well behaved and mature players. In addition a level 3 char could easily be a pure or new char for an established player with a more than adequate knowledge of runescape. And lastly, Bully, you might want to edit that pick to not show the name. Its against forum rules so you might end up getting locked. df

Ok cool. I thought you lost the xp for checking health if you paid the farmer  I guess this is the only way to do it because everything keeps growing if you log off doesn't it? I always end up with dead stuff when I log back on lol. Thanks very much folks df

Right, with a bit of luck and some help (thanks again kwimbob :) ) I managed to reach lv22 farming which means trees (oak ones at least), unfortunately I don't know anything about growing these (I have read the guide) so here goes: 1. Is it worth using compost on the plant pot / tree patch? 2. Does the tree grow in turns like other crops, if so how long approx are the turns? 3. Is it necessary to check the health of the tree at every turn? Thats about it I guess. Any advice gratefully recieved :) Thanks df

what's the fansite that had the database stolen?

Bad news for you: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=458750 Discuss it there or this will probably be locked :) df -
There are no quests to unlock. (I assume you are p2p because you won't get them otherwise). Lesser demons I believe drop both, or you can buy them. Add Iratebadger in game and I'll give you a free chaos tally if you want. df

You'll have to accept depreciation if you buy a whip, it is not an investment item like rares, it will (almost certainly) only drop in price. Having said that, at some point it will reach a stable price as supply and demand level off, but at what price that stability will take effect is impossible to say. I'd also say it depends on what you want to do. For slayer whips, cannons, guthans are all good. For combat a whip is ok but you'll need a d scim to train strength anyway. You can train almost any secondary skill (i.e. a skill which isn't just digging or chopping) with that sort of money. For example that will buy you in the region of 290k pure ess if thats your thing... df

Maples are only found in the members only bits of the world (though the gates NW of falador). However, maple logs can be traded in free worlds and, if you use a tinderbox on one in a free world, you can light a fire with them (same as with oak or normal logs). df

Yes but if you look at all the other posts people are mostly selling for 200. You'd probably have trouble shifting any large quantity of cooked lobs for 300. Of course some people will pay 300, there are always people who don't look at the other posts on the forum :? df

Body runes are used for low level curse spells. Players training pure mages often use these in 'missed curse' training, which is essentially a contrived way of raising magic xp without raising hp. I keep mine but I never use them. If you are going to dump them you might as well fire them off for the xp. df

For every 4 cannonballs you smith (only smith - smelting the bar gets you the standard 17.5xp) you get 25.6xp. Therefore for every four cannonballs you make from 2coal + 1iron (i.e. smelt the steel and smith the balls) you get 43.1xp To work out how may cannonballs you need to make take your xp from the xp required for lv60 divide the answer by 43.1 this will give you the number of steel bars you need (so this much iron and double this much coal) multiply this answer by 4 to get the number of cannonballs you will have when you finish df

1. Dump unecessary quest items (thats almost all of them, especially anthing that respawns) 2. Try to only work on one or two skills at a time, when you finish training a skill dump everything into general stores/sell to players 3. Think hard about how much you like random event outfits. 4. Get members!! Also its worth getting two of every item you can afford or say you're crafting gems into amulets, leave one gem behind. These items act as markers so everything stays in the same place rather than clumping up at the bottom of your bank when you replace them. df

For hi alch/protection check this out: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=419310&highlight=protection Lobs sell for up to 250-300 raw and 200-250 cooked. df

Are you trying to make a pure mage? i.e. high magic but with low combat for pking or staking. Or are you just making an all-round character with high mage. Def gives you higher magic defence. Atk/str I don't believe affect mage at all. You might want to train range a bit to wear d hide armour (quite useful for a mage I think) df

Hmm, Two more possibilities: 1. cut willows and sell for 30-40ea (not good money but wc is a good skill to have 2. mine iron, sell for 100ea. Later mine coal and sell for 180-200ea. Top tip: don't train fletching as a money maker. It isn't until you get it high, even then lv44 RC pwns it :( df

without high alc what would runescape do?
dogfever replied to Italian5kamikaze's topic in General Discussion
lol Anyways, without alching the gp inflation which RS suffers from would be knocked on the head almost instantly. I can't think of a larger source of gp than high-alch, arguably removing high alch would push the economy towards deflation (not really a good thing either). However, proper analysis would require masses of data which JaGex probably aren't about to release to the likes of you or me :) df -
1. Use search there are hundreds of answers to this question. 2. Are you f2p or p2p? 3. What are your skills? People will give yoiu more accurate answers if you tell them this. Generally: Merchanting is good if you have a large amount of cash to start with (I'd say 1mil but opinion varies) Bowstrings are good, low level, cash for unskilled players (they sell for 150-200 each) Leather is a popular earner in f2p selling at 100ea in small amounts, more on the forums. Better skills can earn you more money, particularly rune crafting at the minute. df
