  1. Gnome tree and Gnome Stronghold for quick transport around the p2p world (also a bit of agility xp into the bargin) df EDIT: Oh yeah and Holy Grail for 10k pray xp. And Tears of Guthix for the mini-game
  2. Starcraft ftw!! Man I haven't played that in years. [Goes home to root disk out of desk drawer...] On Topic: RSN: Iratebadger - a very angry badger. I like badgers. Angry ones seemed more appropriate to a combat-based game. Forum name: Dogfever - I really don't know, an in joke at work. df
  3. Try the fally wall guards, lv22, they don't hit too hard and they drop lv 2 clue scrolls. At lv50 move on to other things, I like mossies in varrock sewers if I can find a quiet world - you can stay there all day with safe spots (especially after they become non-agressive) an most of their drops are stackable (runes and seeds) or alchable (take some nats and a fire staff). df
  4. Pure ess can be mined at any ess mine (they're all the same place anyway) as long as you: 1. are on a p2p server 2. have 30+ mining level Nats sell for 300ea People either use the abyss (tele to abyss, portal to nat altar-no tiara required, glory to edgy) to generate really quick nats (high investment required, also risks PKers). Otherwise take a nat tiara, 10k noted ess, 26ess and a lot of cash (IDK how much but you can test it at any general store). Craft 26ess, run to general store (NW of nat altar) sell 25 noted ess, buy back ess from shop (unnoted now), run to altar, craft, repeat. Slower but no PKers and no Glory required df
  5. I use iron knives. Picking up, I reckon 10k iron knives are good for about 500k xp. At 40ea thats still loads cheaper than the cannon but slower xp. df
  6. Rune picks and high mining are well worth it in their own right. However, I think most high level smithers will tell you that it is much quicker to buy ores and sell bars than mine your own. However, mining your own is much better for the purposes of profit. df
  7. My first death was quite late on (level 50 ish). I went for a wander in the wildy to see what was about. I was PKed by some guy but I didn't have anything on me because I figured it would happen anyway :) I did nearly die in Varrock to the mugger though. For ages I thought Varrock was really big but I guess I was just running in circles around the rune store  Oh yeah, when I was new I thought you could get attacked anywhere by anyone so I was really worried for about two days. df
  8. Buy coal 200ea, buy iron 100 ea, sell steel bars 600ea or 4*cballs 200ea. Repeat. df
  9. Well, its impossible to say accurately. But: The xp difference is about 530k Assuming that on average you hit a 15 with the cannon, and given that you get 2xp per hit you will gain, on average, 30xp per shot. Meaning you will need a grand total of approximately 18k cballs (530k/30). But I'd get more if I were you. df
  10. No more suggestions but stay away from fletching, even at lv70 it isn't that profitable, certainly nothing like RCing nats. BTW when he says merching runes he means like this: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=455682 Pure ess sells for 90-100ea on the forums atm df
  11. Ok, you need to wear your tiara. Then the left-click option on the altar should be 'Enter altar' or something like that. df
  12. Try this: http://tip.it/runescape/world_map_f2p.htm
  13. You don't need a high level to merchant. BTW, there are 10 types of person, those who know binary and those who don't. Geeks FTW! df
  14. I think I remember someone saying that JaGex removed the safe spot for mage and range. df
  15. Seeing as you asked nicely, here is a link which may help you: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=434814 Be aware that it is all very approximate, dependent on your level etc. Personally I would recommend a recovery rate of 80% of knives thrown. IDK about arrows because I never use them (knives are quicker) df
  16. You don't need to complete the quest to get pages, I have zammy(4) and I haven't started the quest. As for the rest I don't know df
  17. Lummby swamp is also a good place to do the superheating thing, quieter than the mining guild although only 6 coal rocks. You can also mine powermine addy there while you wait for mith respawns. With high enough agility (lummby fence squeeze so about 20?) you can use the culinromancers chest to bank quickly. df
  18. That is true, however, do you not think that a lot of ess sold before the split was for levelling rather than profiting purposes? If so it is not inconceivable that the drive for cheap RC xp (because, let's face it, high level RC is still good money) will rekindle the n-ess market. For example instead of w66 laws does anyone not see a market for more companies like w16 airs, even bodies now the wall has been removed? The question is how much of the ess pre-split went to levelling and how much to for-profit RC? I would guess the majority went to levelling, meaning demand will still be high. df
  19. I think the actual value of nats will depend upon the eventual market value of pure ess. The market value of pure ess depends on several factors: 1. The value high level RCers place on not having to mine ess for themselves (I do no see this being a limiting factor) 2. The tranferral of lower level players from flax picking and bs crafting to ess mining as an income stream (I cannot see popular uptake of this while pure ess remains below 100 per) 3. The incursion of macroers into p2p ess mining (this is something of an unknown but is unlikely to take hold any time soon) 4. Downward pressure from a static nat market (this is unlikely as decreasing supply will create a sellers market) 5. The number of high level RCers prepared to take a hit on profitability on the scale you have identified. Therefore, given that there are no other influencing factors I do not see pure ess prices dropping by more than 10% (recovery from the delayed market panic). However, having said all of this the market is still highly unstable and, as such, very sensitive to the above factors. One important question is what other methods exist for these high level RCers to make money on a similar scale. If easy options exist then nat prices will likely rise slightly as RCers move out of the market. Otherwise prices will probably rise less, if at all. An interesting aside will be to look at the effects of a move to pure ess mining for profit on the already undersupplied bowstring market. This whole scenario could end up being bad news for the fletchers out there (including me :( ) This is all just personal opinion, feel free to contest df
  20. If it helps I trained from lv 1 to 53 ranged using iron knives, I started with 10k, picked up all of them and still have ~7k left. df
  21. I did it at 68-69 without melee prayer and it was a close run thing with half an inv of lobs. You should be fine as long as you use protect from melee df
  22. That is an ace idea. However given the limited amount of advice given out, a sticky might suffice maybe? Not that anyone would read it, I'm pretty sure they go straight for the 'New Thread' button without even registering which forum they're on
  23. Excellent. Thank you very much, I shall be alright for potatoes and onions from now on. As if that wasn't enough excitement for one night, I can now grow guams! For my next trick: five hours sleep before work tomorrow :( (damn farming). But seriously, thanks :D
  24. Right, here goes. I have at last started farming, everyone who does it seems to think its good and I have a fair few reasonable seeds from monster / bird nest drops cluttering my bank. Anyway, one small problem: I suck something awful at farming :) I have a few questions, or ideas I need clarifying if you would be so good. (BTW its only allotments for now, start small and all that :) ) 1. I see this 'farming clock' ticking over, from the guide I assume I need to check the health of my plots every time this happens yes? Do I just 'Inspect' the patch to do this? 2. Is it necessary or in any way advantageous to water the crops at every tick? 3. The flowers in the middle. Can I just leave them there for multiple crops of potatoes , onions etc? Is there anything to do with them if I pick them? I have looked at the many guides on here, which are very helpful but, I feel, pitched at people above my negligible level of farming intelligence. Thanks in advance (this may be the first of many posts!) df
  25. Still waiting for mine... Best so far was an addy med. I may have raised an eyebrow, or let out a small sigh :D df
