Rage Against the machine
Yeah, Rage is great music. It's a bit of a mixture between the funkyness of RHCP and the agression found in QotSA. Of course Audioslave and Soundgarden are relevant other bands, but I do prefer Rage for its hard lyrical quality and the high headbang and shouting factor.

The recognize-a-cover game!
Never heard of them, and I'm not a music rookie. It was a little too hard, try to post more common CDs next time.

America needs to switch to the metric system, etc...
Ah, good ol' Rick sees it all into the bigger perspective. I live from day to day, so I use dd/mm/yyyy

No school!!!!!!!
That's odd. Courses here aren't obliged, so I skip most of them. I just never feel like getting out of bed at 8 o' clock to attend classes, even though they're interesting. Our grades are determined by exams only, so if you pass them, everything is OK. That's what I'm trying to do now. *back to books*

. . . Your Earliest Memory. . .
I'm learning something new every day on TIF. I hope you already figured out other perils in life? Or is it learning by doing only for you Kayla? :P

The recognize-a-cover game!
You may just as well tell us what it was. I have no idea, even after google'ing for answers. It's probably a band you like but absolutley not that famous anyway. It's not the intention of this topic to make riddles either...

Near Death Experience?
Isn't it awkward that so many people seem to have scary experiences with water? I think people don't drown to death that easily if you see how many people have nearly drowning experiences. Even if you do drown (i.e. water in your lungs) I think there's a very big chance you'll survive as long as someone notices you and alerts the hospital.

First Impressions?
They always do. Probably the way you look is the least remaining one, but the way people think of you will always stay and only change a little, unless you were a complete different person the first time you met. If I go to a girl and ask her out without knowing her, it'll ruin my reputation with her (if she has a bit of common sense). So, even though I might actually be a very nice guy, she'll always think of me as a jerk, except if she really gets to know me well, by living together for example. Just staying in touch won't do. Another good example: the first time you meet a group of people you're unfamiliar with, like colleagues or the friends/family of your girl- or boyfriend, you can either leave a smashing impression or completely lose face.

Near Death Experience?
Absolutely. It was frightening, but at that moment I was very calm and I was thinking incredibly fast and clear. That instant moment seemed to last an hour. It's amazing what the human body can do when it's in grave danger.

So My Views Aren't Right?
Akthough I find it a tad bit hilarious that many intelligent people take the Bible to the letter, the explanation you gave me Astra, satisfies my question. If there would be a word of God, and it would be formulated exactely like he wants it to be formulated, it would be the sole objective thing in history. But I don't believe in a God that interferes with our lives that much. I do hope there is a God that watches us, and whenever we do something good, small as it may be, he can be happy about it. But I doubt that even if this unrealistic thought would be true, he'll reward us for it, or punish people for their deeds. Not in this life, but perhaps in the afterlife, should that dream be true. Why else would I have so much bad luck in times I need a sparkle of hope? I haven't done any truly aweful things. The worst thing I've done in my life is most likely be in a fight with my dad when I was 16. It was verbally at first, but then he got so angry he beat me up pretty bad. I didn't want to hit him back, because I repect my parents, but also because I kinda knew I was the one who caused all that trouble. But that's something pretty common, a fight is a fight. I wonder when my luck will start. edit: LOL Adam, I sure hope you're kidding.

how many of u have MP3/ Ipod/ CD player??
I have a discman, but I barely ever use it since that time I was nearly ran over by two busses. You need to hear what's going on when you're driving your bike in traffic. Story's on near-death experience thread.

Near Death Experience?
When I was 10 my room wa re-decorated. All plugs were uncovered, and I (despite knowing it was highly unsafe) put both of my fingers in the plug. Good thing I also knew to pull them right out. But I did not know that your muscels go into a massive cramp, so you won't be able to move them. I then put my fingers in the contact and WHAM, I felt like I was hit by a baseball bat all over my body. It's so painful it doesn't hurt. The next second, the safety came into action and electricity was shut down. I've never tried something as idiotic afterwards again. A second time was while driving my bike in the city, I wanted to pass a bus that stopped to pick up passengers. The road, lots of traffic at that moment, is only about 6 metres wide and there was traffic on both sides. So I decide to pass that bus, because it did not seem it was about to continue anyway. Halfway, I notice another bus from the opposite side coming straight towards me. So here I am, trapped between a bus that's about to start and that didn't see me and on the other side driving cars with a bus right behind them. I don't know what to do; stopping would be folly, the bus to the right of me would start and run me over. Continuing would mean the bus coming towards me from the left would hit me. So I continued. The bus to the right of me starts, does not see me riding on the left, trapped between the traffic. The bus from the left then spots me and swings to the side and that must've warned the busdriver to the right of me who finally notices me. That situation was likely more dangerous than putting your fingers into a fuse. If the busdriver on the left did not make his manoevre, I'd be hit by either that bus, or the bus on the right would've run straight over me.

So My Views Aren't Right?
Is there a way how Catholic people can prove something scientific without using the Bible? A scientist doesn't say "Einstein said so, so it's true" either. I don't want to offend anyone, but I hate it when people come with lame quotes from a book to prove something. That's hardly proof at all. It's obvious you use knowledge, most likely gathered by being taught so, but using one book to prove everything, I just cannot understand that. If the Bible is absolute, why can't the Curan be perfect either? Or my book of business finance I'm having next to me? They're all written by intelligent people, who gave the subject much taught, but a vision of one person or even a group of people will always be subjective.

entertaining way to make your math teacher look stupid
I haven't calculated anything concerning cones or whatever for over 4 years, it's just a matter of good education :)

. . . Your Earliest Memory. . .
I was 3 when I climbed into a treehouse in Norway on a holiday. I remember I saw a chest there before, and I was convinced it held treasure  I still have a cute pic of me climbing up there.

Yeah, the forum is acting weird, again. Besides, I think I just "proved" that those proves aren't too difficult.

entertaining way to make your math teacher look stupid
Wow, in Belgium all math teachers that teach in ASO (the most theoretically fixed study in high school) with 6-8h of math, all require a university grade. They will have no problem proving it. Here's my go for the volume of a cone with a circle-based shape: Eh voila, easy as that. Just imagine what a cone actually is (nothing more than a line rotated around the x-axis) and solving the problem is left to pretty basic maths. EDIT: the black 'y' in the second pic should have been 'a'
