  1. Thx for the support Bubs :) I've gotta make a note of those artists you mentioned; haven't got anything from them. Now that we're talking about good soundtracks: here's one for the Braveheart and Requiem for a Dream fans: This beautiful Monday's Tunes! Braveheart theme [Enya] Requiem for a Dream soundtrack: Lux Aeterna [Clint Mansell] Take your time to listen to it; but above all: enjoy! Oy
  2. DNA strings -> P-molecules -> atoms -> electrons, neutrons and protons -> stuff that looks like a pink kitty -> more stuff.
  3. What is he up to? *shivers with fear* :ohnoes: I'm a relatively calm person, I don't mind idiots, I try to accept everyone the way they are, although the few people that really work on my nerves can piss me off if they keep up their stupidity. Actually, there are only 2 things I hate about some people; being stupid and still thinking you're the man or pestering others.
  4. people like us will eat your sisters unborn fetus... just like that guy who plays bass from system of a down. hehe... Yum. Babies. I like em fresh and pink ;)
  5. Classical music is boring. It makes me feel sleepy or sad. I'm never ever gonna dig it. Yeah, I also used to think that, because I pretty much disliked every record my dad always put on. In the weekends you could almost permanently hear classical music with the volume wide open; and I hated it. But now that I'm nearly 20 (ugh, I feel old) I can say I really, really enjoy classical a lot. It must have something to do with not living at home anymore for 2 years, but I'm also aware why my opinion all of a sudden changed. When I bought the Lotr score compilation for my father, I listened to it myself a few times after I gave it to him on his birthday. And, because the music equals the atmosphere of those fantastic movies for me, I loved that music more than any rock, metal or punk I ever liked. The perfect harmony, the thrill you get when the choir sings louder and more impressively, led by the crescendo from the instruments,... It's exactely the same as what I felt with good rock music that slowly reached its peak, like Tool, the Smashings, some Nirvana and so many other bands. Techno (i.e. all forms of electronical music; from house to electro to jungle) is based on the same principle; slowly build up your music, add instruments as if they appear out of nowhere, play slightly harder every moment and eventually burst loose in the climax of the song. Not all classical music eventually reaches a peak, because it was composed by musicians that wrote music for rich people who just wanted a nice tune on the background while living. That's why there's a lot of classical that is considered boring by our generation. It's not meant to actively listen to, it's meant to play on the background, people :) The classical music that's meant to really actively enjoy is the one that's composed for operas or other kinds of plays. I can assure you that you'll like that music, and if you don't, then I give up  Try to listen to scores of movies you really liked and for the advanced starters, try [downloading] some of the music I'll post daily from now on :) I hope you take the time to quickly listen to them; it took me an hour writing this and posting my favourite pieces too ;) Underlined are my favourites. --- List of music so far: Pachelbel: Canon in D major on electric guitar: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=551670992127427964&q=pachelbel --- Enya: Braveheart theme Clint Mansell: Requiem for a Dream soundtrack: Lux Aeterna --- Nine Inch Nails: Hurt R̮̦̉̉yksopp: Triumphant Wim Mertens: Struggle for Pleasure --- DJ Shadow: Building steam with a Grain of Salt The Chemical Brothers: Asleep from Day --- Bach: Air on a G-String Carl Orff: Carmina Burana: O Fortuna! --- DAAU: A Sin So Nasty Apocalyptica: Deathzone --- Beethoven: Ode to Joy ---
  6. Our results are very much alike LP... And Lionheart: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=216 ... t=religion :) When searching for an old post of mine I found this.
  7. I used to be in a climbing club, and we went to climb the Mont Blanc. So that's the highest I've ever been; 4808 metres. Of course I've been twice as high while flying to America; but I guess that doesn't count. And I've also been twice as high in other circumstances.
  8. I just stumbled across an old post of Lionheart that contained a link to a religion quiz. Just answer the 54 questions and see what religion fits best with you :) Here it is! http://quizfarm.com/test.php?q_id=10907 Question n̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð14 (The world would be so much better if there were no religion) kept me thinking; most people that know me a bit here would think I answered 'completely agree', but, although I strongly believe religion is the cause of a lot of wars, it is also the main source of hope. So I answered 'rather disagree'. And without religion, whether it's believing in a God or more Gods, or believing in some kind of unexplainable power, there's no hope. (beautiful, isn't it?) Same for q n̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð27; another religion-bashing dilemma. I didn't answer agree or disagree; religion can be a good set of rules that people can try to follow, but it can also cause power, and power will always be abused somehow. My score: I'm shocked that Christianity is last. The questions weren't really made to score well on it either; questions like 'God is manifested in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.' are of course ridiculous. I completely disagree with that and thus I score bad on Christianity. It also amazes me Christianity and Islam lie so far from eachother; they're based on the same ideology... But IMO Christianity is not about believing what the bible says; it's about caring for eachother and respecting one another. That's as far as it goes for me; I don't believe in a physical God either (duh).
  9. Heh, playing the music in band is okay depending on what were playing and if I have any fun parts in the music. When I actually listen to classical music, it makes me tired because I get dead bored... The only way I can handle classical is if it's in a movie.. Otherwise I can't stand it.. So boring.. edit: check my topic :)
  10. The thing is, there's nearly no luck involved in a good game of texas hold em. So if you play it online and keep winning, you're just very good at it. I don't see why these games shuold be banned; I do understand these games can't be for real money if you're not 21 yet.
  11. Myeah, IMHO, people who don't love, or at least appreciate, classical music, can't ever be serious musicians or music lovers. Good techno is somewhat the offspring of classical music, many rock musicians were inspired by classical to create some of their most famous songs, post-rock is rock with a classical undertow etc.
  12. Eple - R̮̦̉̉yksopp dodo doo doo, dodo doo dum, dodo doo :)
  13. Or ex-RSers who still like to have a laugh with it ;)
  14. I play texas hold em with friend from time to time, but a friend of mine played it online with some of his friends. They're all math students, and they're all extremely good in poker, just because they can perfectly estimate their chance and know when to take a risk and when not to. It gets pretty complicated sometimes, but those guys... My friend even won 6,000̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì in 2 weeks time! That's incredibly much money for a 19-year old. Too bad there's a new law that forbids these games online here :(
  15. Don't see the world in black and whites KC. Not all politicians become horny when they hear the words 'power' or 'money'. Actually, at least in Belgium, I'm sure that most politicians really want the best for the people. But as they grow older, they probably give up their ideals and crash into corporate stuff.
  16. Free the Wales. Yeah, every time I see ftw, I think: aah, another Greenpeace activist, the world isn't lost yet. There apparently are quite a lot of whale-lovers.
  17. What an amazing website! It's better than most of the websites of the pros. Congratulate the guy who made it from me :) But, what's more import here, is the music. I can really dig the instumentals (I play the drums myself, and your drummer is swell), but the vocals are still pretty far from perfect. You don't need a great voice to be a great singer, that's for sure, but you do need a voice that appeals to the audience, and that mainly is a pleasant voice. Kut Cobain wasn't a great singer, but his voice was ideal for the music, because it fitted perfectly with the shredding lyrics and the agony in the music. I can give you a list of singers that don't have a smooth voice but that have the perfect voice for their music. It struck me that your lead singer doesn't really have the right voice, no offense. I just think that a promising band deserves better; perhaps you should all try to sing a bit and see who's the best singer :) Otherwise I'd say (if you guys wanna become pros) try to get voice controlling classes; it makes a huge difference. I smell a good band, but it needs some tweaking. Best of luck!
  18. Gotta love those urban legends.
  19. Haha, I loved that article. Sounded slightly cynical towards the players who keep complaioning, but that's what makes it spicy. That's the one part I kept trying to explain people who can't do anything but say: 'hey this rule is stupid, and that one is useless'. Perhaos they should pay a visit to the audit cnetre of big companies; they'll be stunned by all the 'stupid' rules and 'useless' requirements. Rules are always there because something happened that shouldn't have happened. Then the authorities make a rule, so that this wrong doing will not happen unpunished again. It's not that hard to understand, now is it? It'd be chaos and anarchy if there weren't and silly rules. Thanks for the read Kiara!
  20. You are crazy Bubs. I hope you didn't start to actually speak 1337 against your real friends afterwards. my record on the computer is somewhere around 12 hours, but when I played RS I think the longest time I stayed logged in was 5 hours? Perhaps not even that long.
  21. You know I am amazing ;)
  22. That's what I love about those countries; people still care for customers sometimes and don't just see them as walking dollar bags. It's the same in Turkey and Morocco, where you can have a ton of fun with the locals by haggling and chatting away the time.
  23. Pfft, hardly amazing. I'm ab-so-lutely sure that 80% of all cyclists have at some point used doping. The sport is more corrupt than Al Capone's guts. And for the people that will say it only gets worse, Eddy Merckx, likely the best cyclist ever, admitted that in his time, probably even more doping was used. He claims he never used any, and I believe him because he's still in excellent health and he was so supreme in his days, that he didn't need any either. How about the money?
  24. Taste in men - Placebo
  25. Yeah, wolfmother is a lot like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. 70s forever :)
