Almost Got Scammed? Want To Tell Your Story? Post It Here!
I've never gotten scammed, but I kind of scamed myself a few times. Like the time I bought full rune to put in my house and didn't know I had to have a smithing level of 99 to do that.

Do You Hate It When People Purposely Spell Words Wrong?
That depends. If its to shorten the word its ok. Like lol or omfg or rofl and that kind of thing. I hate it when people accidentally spell easily spellable words wrong and do it consistently. It makes them look stupid.

What Jagex Rule would you Remove
The rule that says you can't talk about politics or religion on the forums. People should be able to talk about whatever they want to talk about, if they start a flame war its their own fault. Politics and sometimes religion is interesting.

Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the Editor #7
What is real life? Real life is the things that people do that make rational sense. That includes eating, being in a shelter, making those things or making maoney to do those things, and procreating (doing it just for fun is not rational, and yet thats the reason most people do it). Real life does not include music, fiction, or video games, or indeed most of what constitutes culture, and what people enjoy doing. Real life is the part of life robots can do, so why not let them do it and then we can be human? I personally have not been playing runescape as much as I used to, but that is because runescape is pixels, and I prefer role playing games that don't involve pixels (or any board either). When your life is centered around living a fantasy, does the fantasy become real? Not according to my previous definition of real life, or to the people who always talk about "real life". But the fantasy is my life, in fact most people are living a fantasy life, think about it, why is it you do things that arn't rational? It's probably because of a cultural construct, which is the same as a fantasy. Maybe we need to change the definition of real. Culture is a story people tell themselves about themselves and in doing so give meaning to their lives.

Tip.It Times Presents: Letters to the Editor #5
Members are more mature than f2p players, and the members game is a lot better. I tend to ignore the parts of the game that don't interest me ( such as the corny warning cartoons and noob helpers) and focus on the parts that do interest me. That way the parts that don't interest me don't bother me. "Wow these articles totally contradicts each other... the letter is said in a deontology view and then the article is in utilitarian... god, who ever said they agree with BOTH of them is wrong...its not possible... pick which one would u rather have. Being Nice, or for the common good?" Are you a philosophy major or something? I'm actually not too fond of either point of view, my view is absurdist; life stinks so play runescape. Its also postmodern; runescape is reality.

Tip.It Times Presents: Letters to the Editor 22 July 2007
In response to Rikochet's article, empathy is something you learn naturally at the age Rikochet probably is, I remembered when I learned it, and it had nothing to do with runescape. Runescape might have helped him learn it, but he probably would have learned it anyway. I'm not entireley sure I'm glad I learned it, it has changed my life, but maybe not for the best. As a result of being more empathetic I'm a lot more introverted than I used to be because I'm afraid of how other people might see me. I used to just do whatever I felt like doing at the moment, like most kids do, and that was pretty fun. I don't do that any more, and people just ignore me now. I am now more successful and less destructive than I used to be, which is probably a good thing, and theres not very many people who hate me now, but I also don't have many good friends for the same reasons. I never take any risks or do anything crazy, so my life is kind of boring, which is why I play runescape a lot. I guess what I'm saying is I've matured, and with maturity comes some benefits, but you also loose what you had as a kid, a willingness to do whatever you think might be fun, no matter what the consequences are.

Tip.It Times Presents: I have the answer, Mr. Runescape!
RuneScape does teach you a lot of stuff, the SCA, which is like real life runescape, teaches you a lot more.

What's the story behind your RS name?
It was spring 2003 and I was really into the Dean campaign, like many other young, fanatical internet users (which is why he was able to raise so much money from contributions averaging $100). One of my other characters has my name backwards, and the other one, NeoNihilist, I named after reading The Matrix and Philosophy.

Tip.It Times Presents: All¢¢âš¬¢âž¢s fair in love and war...
I think people should do whatever they want, and if I'm pking and someone tells me about their honor code, I'll just laugh and kill them, but I totally support their right to have an honor code. That will make it easier for me to kill them.
-
Tip.It Times Presents: Anything Goes
I strongly agree with the article; the wilderness is for killing people, not for "honor", and anything that can be done to kill players and stay alive should be done. People who don't do everything they can to win the fight are the noobs.

Tip.It Times Presents: Rule 2 Revised
I wouldn't normally post anything religious on this kind of thread, but since this weeks letter did quote the bible: Criminals, like the poor, will always be with us", I thought I would clarify this passage. "We know that the Bible tells us the poor will always be with us. Some people hear that as an excuse for inaction. I believe it is a call for us to act and a call for us to serve. My family and my faith didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t teach me to turn my back on a friend or neighbor in need. They taught me to open the door, let them in, and help them get back on their feet. And millions are calling for help right now. They don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want a free ride. They just want a chance: a chance to work, buy a home, take care of their family, and live the American dream". - Senator John Edwards "The heart of the issue is what kind of people are we? What kind of people could we become? If self-interest rises to the level of excess we will always have the poor among us. I am left wondering if that may not be at least something of what Jesus addresses with the disciples. Rather than a statement of self-inflated importance, maybe Jesus was suggesting the poor will always be with us because we will only think of ourselves. Remember the question which lay on at least one of the disciples mind was the value of a bottle of perfume and how it might be sold to help the poor".

Tip.It Times Presents: Growing Pains
I agree. Most of the new areas are useless, and I still spend most of my time in the ones that have been out for a while. I think when they create new areas they should make them usefull for something other than just quests.
