  1. Not sure which part you find funny.. :? The US national debt IS around $9 trillion dollars. Or maybe you didn't know trillion is a real number as well... 9 trillion dollars= 9000 billion dollars. If that's still hard to grasp, americans owe over 9000000000 million dollars to other countries. Each citizen of the US is about $30,000 in debt to other nations. That's almost the amount the american economy is worth annually. Although I agree with you, your statement isn't entirely correct. According to gov't site(dl the links), we owe about 4-5 trillion dollars to our own treasury. Ya, it's pretty weird :P . Here's the basic US debt breakdown: Ya, we owe a lot to other nations BlueLancer, but most of it we actually owe to ourselves :P .
  2. Not even other humans? Hm, my belief hasn't really changed from over a year ago. Guess I just hold a stronger dogma that dying for belief is stupidity, that dying for another human is a far more sane reason to give up one's life. That, and I'm not quite so anti-religion as I used to be, and have less of those inane "martyr hero" death scenario's running around in my demented little head >_<. Damn it's weird looking at ancient posts.
  3. malo, learn to go back through your posts and edit out the word "idiot" and it's synonyms. It gets really annoying after a while having to continually read that in a post.
  4. [hide]I though Altair was the ancestor :-s . Wait, do you mean descendant, like one of the other subjects? Or are you saying the main character was sleep walking and dropping more blood than he has in his entire body all over the room while he was asleep o_O?[/hide]
  5. Origa - Inner Universe. GITS fans anyone?
  6. Aha, cool, I have the same kind of eyes, even though the pic's too dark to see that. They're grey, light blue, dark blue, green, depending on what I wear. Ya, I get that too... Stupid reflecting photons >_>.
  7. a) This has been known for... a very long time. B) Social Securities going kaput >_>.
  8. Or, you know, just a small group of crazy's. No need to stereotypically jump to all of religion :| .
  9. I can top that, my teacher called me fat and convienced the princable that he was a sex offender, instant kick-banned Let's be honest here; if you felt the need to lie to your principal about such a sensitive topic as sexual offenses over him calling you fat, then you probably are fat. Teachers say that kind of stuff in jest all the time at our school between teachers and students, and we just laugh with them when they're joking about us, knowing full well it gives us full license to joke back and insult them :P .
  10. :-k :wall: :wall: :wall: ... License to Wed! F'ing mental blocks -_-".
  11. Always liked games like Civilization, Starcraft, Age of Empires... ya, taking an army and obliterating your worthless enemies is quite fun :P . Holy [bleep] that's one hell of a bump.
  12. Make sure to organize your exams into 'easy' 'medium' and 'hard', based on what you know about the teacher and the difficulty of the subject. Then study accordingly :P .
  13. Maturity runs high at Tip.It where the members are clever enough to make jokes about death. That's not the point. First, they're jokes [lol'd at Zonorhc's post :P ], chill. Jokes with a lot of truth to them, but jokes none the less. No need to raive about what you think about their maturity for it in such a condescending tone -_-'. Second, you didn't answer my question with that post. What about a Democrat being president tells you that the US would be "[bleep]ed if we get attacked" by Iran?
  14. :-s I may vote Republican... but what?
  15. So there are 100 crazy people in the world, most of whom were brought up by the same crazy people and thus brought together in one crazy jamboree of craziness. Whoop-i-dee-do-dah. Sometimes I think we attack fundamentalists and younger, less mature people [see every other forum section...] just to feel better about ourselves >_>.
  16. You really need to find something else to do with your time :-s .
  17. Bleh, I've tried that, just messed up my clock even more and felt like crap... oh, and puked beacuse of it too. That wasn't fun >_>.
  18. I would like to start a petition to have raven banned. Anyone want to sign?
  19. Simple. You just need to get one night where you -dare I say it...- go to bed before midnight, and just lay there, allowing no thoughts to pass through your head. You may not get to sleep until two at the latest, but that should fix your body clock pretty well. Worked for me anyways on the break-school transition [i went to bed at 5am the saturday night before school and woke up sunday 3pm... that was rough to fix  ]. Oh, and do it on a day when you're up around 9 or earlier, that should make it easier :P .
  20. One) Don't care enough to do that. Two) I'm not talking about the Big Bang or the creation of the universe here, if that's what you're thinking. I'm talking about nebulae. You know, nebulae, the things astronomers have observed, the big space clouds all over the universe? Need me to explain how those got there, or can I trust you to be able to research for yourself? Three) Wiki. Not sure if that's precisely the same thing, but then again, it's far too late for me to go looking around for you. Four) Why heck do you a) care and B) attack me about about an extraneous sarcastic remark I made that honestly has nothing to do with the topic whatsoever? If you want to keep talking with me about this, think about PM'img me, but don't hold your breath for a response. This thread doesn't need this discussion, so let's leave this side-story dead beside the road where it belongs.
  21. Kind of agree. At 18, it's hard to think of things I regret :-k . Though, I remember a great piece of advice/regret from an old man. When he was asked what he regretted most in life, what he wished he could change about his past, his answer was simple. He wished he had flossed :P .
  22. http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp? ... 0316a.html Saw your sig Defender, impulse post.
  23. Then I guess the Nat Geo "How the Earth [and Solar System] was Formed" documentary lied to me, if you have reason to believe it's wrong >_>. Ugh. I don't have the time nor care level to argue with you about this. I've got a couple hours of Physics and Calc to get done now, and to be honest, I don't have the energy anymore to spend five hours of my day arguing the definition of a word with someone who lives to stir the pot. Go dance and have a party or something 'cause you got the last word in, or do whatever it is you do after an internet victory. Have fun with it.
  24. Yes, but that analogy has absolutely nothing to do with faith. Faith is belief in spite of a lack of evidence, or a hole in the evidence- what you explained was a proper understanding the structure of a chair, past experience of sitting in similiar such chairs, and logical conclusion making based on knowledge of what constitutes a stable and unstable chair. That... really has nothing to do with faith whatsoever. It's actually kind of the exact opposite of faith- instead of just "believing" the chair would hold you up, you analyze every aspect of it before deciding it's good enough to sit on. You're actually making an argument against the logic of faith with that, not for it  . I've been going to a Christian school for the past seven years of my life. Two different ones in fact, the first being Protestant, the second Catholic. Both acknowledged and taught the fact that faith is, and will always be, illogical. Okay, you're arguing semantics again. Whether or not physical matter will later to be used to prove a specific god is beside the point- nowadays, no solid proof has been offered for the existence of god, and thus we have no way of arguing the merit of believing in it.
