I can agree with that, but one of my favorite things is just a strike in.... where it goes chord rest differentchord . if you are listening to somethign expirimental, it can add to the suprise of the style, but for something like pop, it wouldnt work as well accedentals cann be good or bad, nirvana got there style by playing the melvins style, but by making accedentals it added to the sound and mainstreemed it as i siad, unless its expirimental, this would work well. expirimental is all about surprise as a song can go from death metal to jazz to country in seconds, and it is what makes the music special all a mater of opinion, one of my favorite songs "falling to pieces" is really the same verse again, but its catchy in a hard rock way, on the other hand, disco...all the same line over and over :-# all depends on sound again, if in an industrial band the drum machine can add such a tech and rigid sound. different styles have different rules, and not all styles are for all, simple as that

That line is pure gold. If you don't know much more than 10 seconds about *one* metal song, how can you say one (well, actually two, since you think Hard Rock sucks too) entire genre has got no musical quality? Not even the most hardcore metalhead in the world likes the first 10 seconds of every single metal song ever. It only takes a second to realize you don't like getting kicked in the jewels... honestly.... i might as well look at alternative rock from your perspective.... how can you like alternative rock? all it is is people who attemept to play guitar, but all they have are one riff, over and over and over..... same riff, but hey, id rather listen to things with alot of difference than something that is the smae riff over and over in a song, and all of the songs sound the same as well. (just a note, im acting like xplosive twords the music he likes...i actually like alt rock)

oh my god.... I hate them soo much :wall: sorry to be the negative force here, but i really dont like them, and since they are a local band where I live.... They are played EVERY HOUR!!!!!! but to make it seem like i am not a spammer, i just dont like how basically all the songs are just whiney, and i dont like how he seems to try to rip off tool vocally. and such.... but I do like "Falling"...

That goes to The Melvins, and even Kurt claimed that he DIDN'T create the grunge genre. honestly, i can understand why he killed himself, he didnt want to be a part of the whole MTV Genre, as all of the bands he claimed influence from, were ignored by his fans as they worshiped him. i actually kinda respect him for that, as he showed that he didnt want to be a god, (and he also got the melvins signed to Atlantic :-$) Courtney Did it.. lol i got the large brick wall smiley sig with it so I had to laugh... But as i said, Courtney ahd a good reason to kill him, but he had a good reason to kill himself. i think someone should start a thread to debate this though.

The only thing that I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like is how some people just use "easiness of spellchecker" as an argument, believe it or not, spell checkers can make errors as well, (it kept trying to tell me the sentence "why, he needs to go eat cheese" should be "why, him needs to eat some cheese", S/G checker's donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t exactly look at context, so it can make grammar worse. (I have a feeling people will find grammatical errors in this post to argue against me.... I actually used a spellchecker)

Where did I say anything about it not sounding good? the point is, you called Satriani a shredder. he simply isn't, he never has been and he never will be. Shredding isn't play fast, shredding is alternate picking fast. And I love Satriani, I have all his albums, and his bassist's albums, and any other material I could get my hands on. I'd never say he is anything but good, infact, i'd say he's great geez.... i did read what you said, i thought "shreading" was just a term for just fast and incredible guitar work. where i am, its know tht if you say a guitarist "shreads" it means they are just plane awesome at guitar. i didnt know it was a specific technique
