  1. Only one thing that doesnt have so much to do with your guide but where its uploaded. Up-file seems to have some pornographic adds. These might rotate and not appear for everyone but Im pretty sure its against the forum rules and likly to cause a stir amoungst the young or conservative.
  2. If it all possible Id like to see the acheivment diaries being done in a similier fashion to the quest list. Each individual task has a tic box next to it some you can go through a tic what you have done and then hide them.
  3. Very very nice. I love the way you have sumerised this topic in a way that is easy to understand for anyone who cares to read it. Basically this just puts thoughts Ive had for sometime into scope. As far as new continents go, I thinks its safe to assume an eastern continent with asian influences will be next. Another interesting study to do based off your data is to work out if the weather patterns, animals and plants found in area on runescape would be accurate considering the location on the globe. For example, should we be getting ice bergs so far south of the poles and woud there be penguins on them (to answer those ones, probably not to the ice bergs, even though one could float that far it would soon melt and penguins are only found in the south pole on earth... how ever climatically they would fit in to where ever there is ice)
  4. I think they should allow the purchase of the non-tradable holiday items through their website. But as for xp, gp or other tradable items Id say that its a no-no.
  5. Im actually hoping Jages will develope its own story that is based on its own mythology and gods for holidays and move away from christian ones. They could totally use it as a tool to develope the history and stuff. As for items... they would be relating what ever peice of history was explored. Swords of saints, sheilds of sinners, etc
  6. So your sugesting someone saves up all the juice and cashes it in all at once for a massive xp boost? Wouldnt it be better to cash them as you go so you have a higher theiving lvl and can complete the task faster? (assuming theiving lvl helps... I havnt actually played the minigame)
  7. I am currently trying to fill my chest starting at lvl 1 items from HAM. I wouldn't mind seeing a place (perhaps a sticky somewhere?) for people who are doing this to trade their items
  8. Theres not alot of hype since nothing new about them has been added since Magnus was put in south of Fally. When something new that hints towards it is added there will be more hype. For instance Tarn's research into undead which is planed to be released this month is likly (depending on the actual content) to generate more hype
  9. That's just wrong when combined with the first suggestion on too many levels. I fail to see how a hug is wrong, although I suspect it has something to do with the thread being cleaned. The best way to show your appreciation is with out words, they tend to complicate things and it never seems to come out as good as it sounds in your head. I think a card (an actual paper one) and a hug would be your best bet.
  10. Unfortunetly thats swamp paste not swamp tar or I would be very happy for the exat reason you mentioned
  11. I wish I had been on the days of the bunny ears and [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation] holidays drops... although I was here for masks and santas too Im not so fussed to get my hands on them.
  12. So Im doing mournings end part 2 and have lost my key that leads from the Mourners HQ into the mines/temple area. Ive spoken to the head Mourner and he has*t offered to replace it so Im not sure where/if I can get another. Any advice?
  13. An update for your Rat Catchers guide. A few people have said they didn't like it and I didn't find it as useful as it could be. I have basically just edited the exiting one adding bits and peices that I thought would have helped whilst I did it and I'm sure its far from perfect but better than not. I also added a map, it also probably needs a little work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Difficulty level: Medium Start location: Go to Gertrude's House just west of Varrock, you must have a cat or a kitten with you. Required: Quests: Gertrude's Cat and Icthlarin's Little Helper. Items: an empty vial, one kwuarm, one red spider eggs, 4 pieces of cheese, one grounded unicorn horn, one marrentil, one bucket of milk, amulet of catspeak, one weed, one tinderbox, a pot and some food for your cat. Must also have a kitten or cat. Overgrown cats can't catch rats, so you cannot use an overgrown cat for this quest. See Gertrude's Cat for more information on getting a kitten/cat. Suggested: Teleport runes to Al-Kharid, Varrock and Ardougne. NPC: Gertrude, Phingspet, Grimesquit, Jimmy Dazzler, Hooknosed Jack, Smokin' Joe, The Face and Felkrash Walkthrough Hide/Show: Start Items needed: Cat/ kitten Talk with Gertrude, she will tell you to go and see two ladies, namely Phingspet and Grimesquit. They can be found the the Varrock Sewers, your cat will have to kill at least 8 rats before they will speak with you. Once complete, they will give you a rat pole. Jimmy Dazzler and the mansion Items needed: Cat/ kitten, Ardougne teleport runes to get out of mansion after catching rats, rat pole Go and speak with Jimmy Dazzler in the house behind the pub in East Ardougne (north of the castle). He knows of a man outside Ardougne hosting a party and he needs his mansion cleared of rats. This is a job for you and your cat. You will have to move through the house, stealthily. Jimmy will give you some directions, if you follow these, you should find the mansion. Stay out of the field of view of the guards, else they will teleport you back to one of three restart points depending on how far you've gotten. There is one rat in a bedroom on the first floor, two rats in a spare room on the first floor, two rats in the guard's dormitory, and a rat or two in the kitchen - Get at least one from each room, your character will tell you when you've killed enough. Hooknosed Jack Items needed: an empty vial, one kwuarm, one red spider eggs and 4 pieces of cheese Upon return to Dazzler, he will give you an overview of the kitten pits and send you back to Varrock to speak with Hooknosed Jack, he can be found in the fenced in area south-east of the east bank. Hooknosed Jack doesn't have a lot of free time, so you'll have to run an errand for him. You'll need to give him the ingredients to make rat poison (kwuarm, red spider eggs, and vial), and then use the rat poison on your four pieces of cheese. Go to the warehouse directly south of you, and go up the ladder to the first floor. You will need to place a piece of cheese in front of each of the rat holes and report back to Hooknosed Jack, who will tell you that his cat Pox has eaten some rats that you've poisoned and is now sick. Apothecary Items needed: one grounded unicorn horn, one marrentil, one bucket of milk, cat/kitten, and food for kat/kitten Head to the Apothecary on the other side of Varrock, who'll ask you for marrentil, grounded unicorn horn, and some milk to make some antipoison for Pox. Bring this potion back to Jack, and he'll tell you that there is still one king rat that you must dispose of in the warehouse. You will not be able to put poison in the crack in the wall, but it is big enough to put your cat through. Bring extra food for your cat in this fight as the king rat has about three times as many hit points as your cat, and your food will be needed to heal your cat, just place it in the crack of the wall where you put your cat in. Once the king rat is slain, go back to hooknose, and he will send you to Smokeout Joe in Keldagrim, to teach you what to do with overgrown cats. Smokin' Joe Items needed: one weed, one tinderbox and a pot Smokin' Joe is on the far East side of the city, behind the mining shop. Smokeout Joe is a bit under the weather and cannot finish a task of smoking some rats out of a hole, and you will need to make a smoking device of your own to finish off his job. Go get your pot and your weeds and your tinderbox. Put the weeds in the pot, and light it using the tinderbox. Use this pot with the nearby rat hole, and you'll see the rats run out the other side when the smoke is blown in, and then retreat when it is clear. Set your cat down, and your cat will offer to take guard on the other side to ambush the rats as they come out so they cannot retreat when the smoke clears. Once this is done, Smokeout will have you go speak to The Face in Port Sarim. The Face Items needed: None The Face has you go talk to a bard downstairs, Felkrash who agrees to help - if you can get rid of all the rats in Port Sarim in one action. This is not easy. Go out of the Port Sarim pits and speak to The Face again. She'll mention the snake Charmer in Pollnivneach. You'll need a few coins to get him out of his trance, and a couple hundred more to get him to teach you what to do. Once he refuses to teach you for the amount of coins you have, tell him no thanks. if you dont have ring of charos, choose the walk away slowly option and he will slowly drive his own price down, if you do have it, you should be able to talk his price down to 50gp. He will give you both a sheet of music, and a charming device. Head back to Port Sarim on the docks or near the manhole and play this tune. Getting the rats in Port Sarim Items needed: Flute and sheet music fromAli the Snake Charmer To play the flute, simply click on it. Then you see that you are on the first of 8 pages. On the first page select the first note that is on the sheet of music that you got off the snake charmer so that it turns red. Then go to the seconds page (do not press play, just select the next note and go to the next page). On the second page you select the second note from the snake charmers sheet of music. Do this for the 8 pages. There are 8 notes on the snake charmers sheet of music. Once you have put one note onto each page you then press play and you should get a cutscene. Note: Remember to click on the icon that looks like a gust of wind if the music sheet shows a note with that symbol above it. Only select the 'wind icon' for the note that it appears over, not on all 8 pages. Finishing Up Items needed: None Return to Felkrash in the Port Sarim rat pits to finish the quest. Reward: ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ 4,500 Thieving experience ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Access to the Rat Pits ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Unlocked Wiley and Lazy cats. Quest points gained on completion: 2 Tips, tricks & notes: ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Getting caught by the guards in the mansion can sometimes disrupt their normal patrol routes creating gaps that are easier to move through. How ever this only work to stop the guard once or twice, any more than that will cause him to correct his patrol. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Cats catch rats faster than kittens so it is better to have a cat for the beginning of the quest if you are pressed for time. [pokemama 11/18: wow, thanks for the detailed comments and map! I've turned your image over to our mapper, we'll see what he can do. Our quest guides editor will take a look at your text as time allows. we appreciate your efforts to help us improve the guide!]
  14. Looks like the Rage mace from that tolna quest to me *edit* - the quest being "A souls Bane"
  15. If you have done/started lunar diplomacy you can pull them from a crate at pirates cove which is reasonably close to keldagrim
  16. Not to in any way discredit the various people who are leaving (or already have) and created such topics, but I think they are kept afloat mostly by those people you mentionmed trying to raise there post count. For example in the Sedition: good bye to RS thread most of the posts were from randoms who admitted to not know him, not that he didn't deserve those post but it does reflect what you said. IF think if those "really importent people" leave then those who actually want to leave well wishes will have no trouble finding the thread and posting in it. Anyways Im not really sure where else to go with this since Im mostly starting to sound like a cold heart fool which wasnt the intention
  17. Yea it seems cool until you have to memorise several dozen metabolic process equations with all there steps, enzymes, products, bi products etc... then it just becomes painful
  18. Always gotta look out for number 1 no matter whos organs I had to cut through. I didn't see any of the saw movies, reading to plot and trap summerys on wikipedia was more than enough for me but the key behind the eye trap is a bit redundent, with the right pressure applied its possible to pop the eye out with any lasting damage, after all, how do you think the key got back there.
  19. I came here to ask for the same thing so ill just bump this one up. There was the "forum gates" or some such board which was for new members although it seems to have disappeared, i suspect from underuse since it was located at the end of the forum list. Id like to see a "Player annocments" forum located in the Runescape discussions section between blogscape and bugs and sugestions. This forum would be used for comings, goings and general thank yous (eg, thanks to player x for letting my join them at dag kings) and so on.
  20. What does a rat's examine have to do with ANYTHING? :-s Terry Pratchett likes to talk about a dwarf's.. loving bond with his rat, usually with ketchup, and on a stick. In the game Discworld 2: missing presumed (or Mortality Bytes in the US) there is an dwarven resturant located in the shades specialising in rat cuisine. This conversation stems from the series of bookswritten by Terry Pratchet about a place called discworld. Stat at "The Colour of Magic" and read onwards, you won't regret it. EWW! books?? ...its the 20th century, toss the books out, we have computers now, better entertainment  but yea...interesting stuff we got here :) :x  If I had a rubber chiken you would be in for quiet a beating

  22. HAving not done the new balloon quest I was secretly hoping that you had managed to gain enough height to see the runescape infact floats through space on the back of a giant turtle. But alas... :( But I doubt that imps in a box will be used in this way, maybe in a quesat but as a general item as implied I cant see what you would want to take photos of, where you would keep them and why it would ever be better than print screen.
  23. I was under the impression they were traps for people who did hexedit. If you tripped them your details were recorded or some such. Although I dont actually know anything about how that works so Im probably wrong.
  24. Reminds me more of Ultima Online, all the spells in that game had words of power. They all here for those with intrest Edit - my bad, those are only the necromancy spells, I cant seem to find the rest but provides an example any how
  25. I don't have a piccie but I got around 160 in one game
