  1. How can you get a skull scepter at lvl 16? it's impossible. i tried to quit for while but i cant. any ideas for me? and also, can someone give me some suggestions about what fun things to do on rs? the only thing i can think of is duelling... maybe pvp. and sorry about my threads... i wont create anymore. :shame:  1. it's not impossible, it's difficult, but not impossible 2. Fun is a relative term. Find what's fun for you, because you will have different ideas of what's fun than other people. Perhaps try some mini games though, people usually enjoy at least one of those. lalala i haven't the slightest idea how you can enjoy the repetitiveness and sheer lack of anything exciting ever happening that runecrafting gives. It doesn't even have its own random event. I used to love runecrafting too: when it was profitable! It was really nice to actually see your cash stack flowing from 0 (Was hacked just when I got 43 rc) till 50+M (and that's when ge/trade restriction problems started to rise and pure ess was 160 ea)... Still RC is the only bearable skill for me (well maybe farming, but I hate it when I time wrong and do a complete lap of nothing): you get to see many different environments and don't stay in 1 spot too long! Also at RCing I found what satisfies me most: actually trying to be the best! - I always want to race against someone (or something like a stopwatch). THAT made rcing fun for me: it's YOUR fault entirely if you make less profit an hour.. At wc/fishing it's too much random waiting, and you can't actually be better at it than someone else!
  2. There's another way to "reduce" the effect of the manipulators, and prevent mega crashing/risings.. The problem is uneducated people! - people don't know that price changes are normal, and asume they're loosing money on the long term.. (or they care too much about the short term).. In real life everyone can see the stock-prices (or whatever they're called) of say oil: however do people panic and start buying all petrol when it rose a lot? - Or do people sell immediatelly all stocked up petrol when prices fall a little bit? No, it's because the amount of people inbetween, big companies buy it, sell it to pump holders(?) and those sell it -for an almost stable price- to the consumer! - Sure everyone knows that buying directly from the big-merchants is cheaper, but why won't you do it? - Because you get a lot more services from the pump holder! So what should JAGEX do? - Make buying at the GE less "good", and make it able for people to profit again by adding services like selling "on the spot"... That way you would get 2 "merchanters": first teh speculator, those buy en masse, and make the ge price shift like hell.. But also the "common merchant": he buys also from ge, but sells to the public for a more stable (but slightly more expensive) price. (He can't adjust his prices too quickly, cause else another "common merchant" who still had some of the old -old priced based- stock would sell for more! Basically going back to the old system with W2 being a crazy market (now ge) yet most people sell for less etc.. This way you don't need any restrictions (even less than now), yet the economy is more healthy!
  3. I would put my bet also on "damage reduction" armours.. Been shouting it ever since the anchor was released! (Wow we called that overpowered when it wasn't nerfed, and it was still weaker than an AGS hit!) Don't know if much will change on the short time though: with jagex' aim to "fix" this year I dont'see any high level gear coming out soon.
  4. I did "plan" to have an huge party for my friends when I would've gotten 99 construction and 99 rc at the same time.. Already calculated how much money I would've left after building my "awesome" house (around 100-200M at that time).. And planned to spent 50M on a huge party.. (like 20M on a drop party, and lots of other funny activities, like a drop party at an agility course, drop parties in wilderness, huge-dungeon party, hide&seek, marathon).. However than the trade restrictions came out and drop parties etc weren't really good anymore.. That made me greatly lose interest in those skills (what's the fun of having lots of money when you can't share it with your friends?).
  5. what he said i've never seen them higher than about 300 even before the g.e actually in W1 varrock the common price was around 400-500 (for large/huge ammounts) Draynor price in law running worlds was 300 gp.. Make quite some profit merchanting them!
  6. Actually, metal dragons is one of the exceptions where void is worse than armadyl. + for the ruby bolts spec void doesn't work! Void is great combined with diamond bolts on the other hand! - Since the diamond bolts make up for the loss of accuracy, and void just makes the hits higher! I found that void works actually better than black dragonhide on iron (and on par with it at steels) - however armadyl might be just a bit better than void there!
  7. Lol what do you expect from using a bugged 3d system? Jogl (which runescape uses) holds lots and lots of bugs, most people stay away far from it!
  8. it's a "bit" 1 sided really! all arguments for wow you can also say on rs: rs doesn't REALLY bring new game play at all, it just brings old gameplay into a new jacket!
  9. Slayer? - You've nice combat stats so you can start slaying and get to 85 at the high combats...
  10. Hey and what about that person who spent his time collecting goldish CW set, and all barbarian outfit? If you start comparing that should be into it too!
  11. Since I plan everything till the tiniest (is that correctly written?) detail I'm never afraid of dieing... Though when I do die I'm like: WTH, DAMN, I miscalculated.. Followed by: well I won't get beaten by some stupid game, let's get my stuff back! But for example when I runecrafted (I stopped when wilderness was removed) I wasn't even bother by dieing: that was just part of the deal, I die every X runs!
  12. what about farming? herblore? mining? agility? tons of skills cut out at lvl 85. Slayers still get something at lvl 90 I have no idea why you would bring those skills up in a Slayer topic, plus I didn't voice my opinion on other skills though I agree they need work too. Well he just pointed a flaw in your argument: you made it sound like it's "not normal" (sad) if a skill stops at 40%.. However since many, many older skills do that it's the norm, and if 1 thing changes everything should change to give all players fair chances! (I hate positive discriminatin even more than normal discrimination btw ;) )
  13. i'm guessing 72 is a requirement as you cant take chameleon eggs, or any other if you don't have the level, that includes you can't get a dragon egg unless you have 99 summoning, since you hatch it on the spot by kicking or clapping, you wouldnt be able to obtain it, so 72 would be a requirement. But you can get a vulture egg before 80 (looks into bank: got 1 on the first accidental kill of a vulture).
  14. After timing several of his techniques (runcrafting, hunter, mining and construction) I found his methods to be way to quick and not good for me as an average of my own rates. No matter how good his techniques are, don't use his numbers for a longterm average rate, unless you've actually achieved them yourself. I know all of his numbers require super attention and perfect runs etc... I was just stating it *is* possible to get 70k xp. Also, if you do all your samples with perfect runs, the relative rates will still be the same. Uhm yes but we aren't perfect, so don't expect to get "perfect" runs EVER..- Things that require more attention suffer much, much more from this than other things: monkfish you can fish almost "perfectly" continuasly: slmon is a lot harder, now power mining is even worse (I don't get even half the so called "perfect xp")..
  15. Think outside the box mate! Why not bring a macaw and have it gather herbs for you while you're safespotting? I tried that... Worked wonders..... NOT Since I'm in dungeons most of the time, the macaw doesn't really collect anything worthwhile: often like 3 tarromins which I drop anyways (I only keep ranarr and up in bank). Magpie did slightly better but still isn't worth the hasle.
  16. I wonder: I really wonder if it's more efficient (since I also earn all my money from those tasks, and my point would be to maximize profits at those lesser tasks). Prayer potions really add up in the costs.
  17. I'm not really sure: I have a decentish (68) summoning level, and enough charms to up my lv to 75-80.. However the questions rises: why spent the money? Rcing doesn't get better, nor does hunting/woodcutting (gathering skills I train): heck for rcing I figured out the most effective way is even without a summon! - Emptying a summon takes too much time, and the random teleport that causes your "right click screen" to be removed annoys the hell out of me! The beaver doesn't really produce a good amount of logs and isn't worth the time to buy: bobs are too expensive and the time to bank is near 0 (if you do it correctly)... And for hunting there isn't even any summon! For combat I always resort to ranging from a safespot (I get the most joy from actually finding those safespots): there summons don't help anything either! This leaves me with a high summon level, and a lot of money simply wasted: money I could've also spent in prayer or another skill for example! So summoning isn't really "usefull": it's for me like construction, helpfull but not vital!
  18. I could've got a 99 stat or a hell of alot of money instead of getting barrows gloves. Therefore using your logic barrows gloves are trash. Not the point I'm making, as quests unlock so many pieces of game content that doing them is almost vital. The point I'm saying (goes along with this): There's a big difference - those items are actually worth using. Fighter torso has ZERO use, since other platebodies are better. So assuming you do spend the time getting it, it will simply rot in your bank, as it has no uses whatsoever. Ever done slayer with a bunyip? - For example at dust devils a bunyip heals me enough so that I actually don't need defense (I don't even wield legs to minimize my energy loss getting there).. And I want to be as offensive as possible. I happen to have torso in my bank: in that (lowish monsters) case it's really usefull! The only thing that might beat it are proselyte top/bottom: but I really dislike having to watch the screen all the time (I always log out due to the 90 second timer, it goes like: logging in, clicking to fight something, waiting another fight - logging out)..
  19. Well I personally like Tip.it because it's simplicity. runehq for example really looks "invading/intimidating" for me with all those pictures and heavy contrast (who ever though of using blue text on a black background must've been crazy)... Zybez I often visit too: especially for their databases/easy access. The data there is much better sorted and linked. The problem only is the forums setup (rsc it's called I believe) is totally unappealing: the first thing I always look for is an help and advice forum... And it's really bad there!
  20. Uhm you're better off asking questions where they belong: at the imageshack community! Been a long time since i used the standard way to upload at imageshack (I use my home-made program for screenshots) so I can't help you.. But there are settings that can help. (remember that your picture needs to be under 1.5MB)
  21. I'm a lv 5 defender (am lv 5 everything, but defender I was already on the first day it came out).. And what can I say: Yes 2 defenders really helps you maxing out points etc, IF DONE RIGHT! only 1 defender should actually put stuff at the ground (lure): otherwise you're often working against each other.. The other defender should only repair the traps, disable 2 portals, and maybe put the correct stuff directly on/adjacent to the traps. 2 defenders only work if you're really know each other. I myself once was in a 120+ (I was the only lv 110 guy) team.. That time we used an extra collector! - simply because we did the waves very fast anyways, and that extra eggs really counts, but that was only during wave 1-8.
  22. snakes I found really annoying, they take way too long. - But I guess you can do them. Skipping all events apart from lumberjack (always fighting till I get an item) I got around 30 charms/hour. And I didn't even use that potato trick at the starving event..
  23. What are you talking about? If you're talking about the little flash client for it, then yes, it works mostly everywhere now. Last time I checked runescript uses the trident (IE) engine as underlying engine to parse the information.. I would really like it if it goes to gecko, or basically any other that doesn't support activeX.
  24. I take the easy route with an weak follower: that way you get most enemies, but it's still easy.. Evade everything you can: and it netted me 1 nail beast event every 4 runs!
  25. Are you finally going to make runescript independant from the IE browser? It's a real pain for those who have partially uninstalled/disabled it.
