  1. Well I dislike these rings completely: most tasks you get you'll hit enough anyways (making the warrior ring obsolete), and a +1 max hit means (in case you always hit) on average +0.5 more hitting. I rather have better drops and always wield a ring of wealth.. Especially for charms you will NOTICE the increased number of charms. (yes it's easily noticable if you compare 4-5 tasks of each at things like dust devils).. There's a pretty steady 10% increase in charm drops. Something I consider very important! Back to the verac vs bandos: well if you pray verac is more usefull. (prayer bonus is considered more worth than strength bonus). - However I often forget/don't want to slap on that pray the whole time, and in that case bandos is better. Verac is better if you're "hardcore" slaying and paying a lot of attention: bandos is better for the relaxed slayer style (I always attack an monster and then browse some forums untill I don't hear anything anymore). Also if melee praying: proselyte beats veracs there :P. However I have to say: I range 90% of my tasks.. And I'll always go "safespotting".. So I would strongly advice you to get void ranged (or armadyl).. And start pelting those broad bolts at the monsters.
  2. Well you need a nosepeg or slayer helmet so guthans is out of the question: bones to peaches I personally dislike a lot: so that leaves you with the "food" method: which (if going ct) isn't too bad..
  3. What about this: instead of going to the common "conversative" places go to new places: runescape is bigger than 1 dungeon! I for one slay greaters in the wilderness: only other people I ever find there are clue hunters.. (though I admit: it can be very annoying hearing "woooot I got a bat mask" when you're waiting for your first rune full helm drop).. Basically the whole wilderness is deserted! - At no risk at all (don't tell me you count revenants as a risk)
  4. I agree ... but old schoolers like me got sara when it was 2m 8-) 8-) Real old schoolers got it when it was 5-10M (or more)..
  5. I too get the feeling I'm that "unwanted but necessary minority": wherever I go people just seem not to be interested into some "deep" chatting, if I even say the word "molecule" 99% of the people call me nerd and no one wants a conversation. And if I say that 1 of my friends was found in bed with a stranger I'm about to get muted! Only biggest problem is those "micro-payments": I have a strict policy to evade those kind of payment methods with games completely. So I wonder if mechscape will have those: if they have I'll stick to runescape otherwise it's worth a look!
  6. Looks aren't that important for me: however I like the "what's that" feeling: so you'll often see me with strange things/outfits like the ivandis flail
  7. I for one loved to pk "old style" however currently it's a bit boring.. I pk because I'm in better control of what I get: so I don't have to gamble for some good loot.. I KNEW THAT IF I KILLED SOMEONE I WOULD GET HIS STUFF. Now you never know what you're gonna get: and that's bad! (heck that's the mean reason why I skill nowadays: I hate to depend on random/lottery, and monster hunting is just lottery for good drops).
  8. I can say I really miss the amount of updates: Currently I've done (almost) everything at least once and I hate doing things twice.... So updates were the only thing to keep me playing for the last year and a half..
  9. reading the kdb is surprisingly usefull: summoning extra features Also these articles might help you in the future!
  10. Absolute nonsense. In your example, the thieves deserve punishment because they are now in possession of the car that they obtained illegally. Just to refresh your memory -------------------- Theft Theft\, n. [OE. thefte, AS. [thorn]i['e]f[eth]e, [thorn][=y]f[eth]e, [thorn]e['o]f[eth]e. See Thief.] 1. (Law) The act of stealing; specifically, the felonious taking and removing of personal property, with an intent to deprive the rightful owner of the same; larceny. Note: To constitute theft there must be a taking without the owner's consent, and it must be unlawful or felonious; every part of the property stolen must be removed, however slightly, from its former position; and it must be, at least momentarily, in the complete possession of the thief. ------------------- N.B. a) depriving the owner of the property B) being in complete possession of property As we know, in RS, Jagex owns all the property, the owner was not deprived of it, the young lad never owned it, the "thief" was never in complete possession of it (even momentarily). As noted in earlier posts, the assault was enough to convict; this could not, however, be theft. Happy to discuss Teeg A so I can just come to your home and steal your passport/idcard?? - You're not the owner of your ID card/Passport: the goverment/EU is!
  11. well that's a pretty impressive list: especially the older 1's are pretty much "well known": theme park was one of the very first GAME simulations.. And dungeon keeper has been honoured a lot for it's originality/3d incoorporation. (mind you at 1997 3d wasn't common). Also syndicate wars and worms were pretty good titles. (Though I personally am stilll stuck at the 2000 quality games so I don't know about any of the newer titles). As for his current title "head of runescape": don't expect to much.. Pretty much any "head of XXXX" is just a job where loudmouthed creatures rest who get paid waaaaay too much...
  12. this may be true, cna anyone substantiate this claim? Weeeell, i can't back it up per say..., but i can use logic. For the without runes bit, i remember seeing that (probably in a postbag, or a god letters) "magic runs through their veins" referring to the mahjarrat. As for every mahjarrat using ancients, well, there were only about 100 or so mahjarrat that came to Runescape, so either they were the cream of the crop and could wtfpwn nearly every human which would prove ancients as being powerful (though, if a mere human could master it, i kinda doubt it's that special to a mahjarrat), or every mahjarrat can use ancients in some form which would explain why a human could learn it. Urgh, long run on sentence. Well, "magic running through their veins" could just mean they were very adept at mastering it with more basic runes. Well I don't have the facts to prove it right now, but take it from me, the Mahjarrat can perform Magic without needing runes. I'm sure I read it in various tomes as well as seeing it ingame, and besides that it is also stated on the Runescape Wiki. (Which counts as about 99% proof) As far as I know every Mahjarrat can use Magic without the aid of runes, they used Ancient Magicks (they probably were the first to use it), and they were the only ones to use it in Zaros's armies. It could of course be possible that they teached the Magicks to other, including human, mages, who followed Zaros, but there has been no proof found about that. ROFL: since when has wiki's been counting as "proof"? WIKI's are almost the opposite of "proof": they're only good at giving you hints so you start looking into the right direction. But as it's user inputted you can and should never trust a wiki for being the truth!
  13. Well easy question: what's the easiest way to suicide yourself in runescape? I heard zammy brews are good??? - How many would I need from 88 hp?
  14. still wondering what your stance is on "slayer being a money maker": you say, "use prayer if you do gwd a lot": that implies you actually loose money with slayer?? Maybe you should take into consideration with every monster not only speed of training, but also what's most profitable..
  15. Covered a lot, but left me with 1 question: do you actually consider slayer as a profitable skill or a money drain? From my own experience if I follow all those guides about cannoning I never ever get the money back I spent on cannonballs.. (literary 50% of my tasks have been cannonable ones).
  16. well I recommend strongly a rune defender and the figher torso. - Obby shield is a waste if you have a rune defender already! Also either guthans or lv 68+ summoning is a "must". (just sell dharocks, an maybe even karils for guthans). Finally if you're really serious later on you might want a cannon and a few (10k+) cannonballs..
  17. Please, please, read the thread. Winning a fight means you actually kill your opponent. Wasting 30k per trip a dozen times without ever getting close to killing someone doesn't appeal to the majority of PKers. If you want to play like that, fine. The point of this thread is that their should be a metagame made, so that people who agree to PK a certain way can do so with each other, with every side respecting one another. Hey: you ever saw that place near al kharid? You know where that emerald ring (enchanted) can take you towards to? That's the place I say you should go to if you want regulated fights with actual rules and these kind of things!
  18. please, please explain to me WHY I shouldn't eat? Really I'm lost at the "social" part: I'm not going in a PVP world to make friends or fight friends (those kind of fights I would do at teh DUEL arena): the PvP worlds are WAR: and everything is allowed in love and war (and PvP worlds).. Really I have my special tactic of eating very soon: and it makes me win 99% of the fights (I never fight near safe zones/only high lvl wilderness).. And using food early doesn't make runescape like russian roullette, it makes you can actually think about your moves instead of just hoping for the next shot to be miss. Really the reason to "knock out" is way overrated: being able to do well in a long (5 min -f2p- battles are normal for me) fight is much better in my books!
  19. wow why should I post some random number???? What crazy thing you've in mind? Anyways, while your on it: why don't just roll dice to see who wins? That's even faster. Nah: pking isn't about getting the kill, it's about the andrenaline rush you get DURING your kill: the longer it takes the more fun it is for me!
  20. Well my passport belongs to the dutch goverment too... Yet theft of id is considered 1 of the most heavy crimes. Stealing of "borrowed" goods is just as much stealing as stealing of "owned" goods...
  21. And what if I want to keep profit while doing slayer?
  22. Well I'm wondering: shall I melee black dragons or range them? I have lv 85 ranged and 85/86/86 att/str/def + 64 pray... And if I go kbd: what's better for soloing (melee or range?)
  23. did the 04:46 south thing: pokemama edit: thanks so much!! fixed and credited!
  24. Am doing 10 fish/5 mapples now: so in about 1-2 weeks I might see if the mistake is in the fishing (or mining) part.
  25. Of course I didn't put approval at 100% the whole time: but the 1/150 shouldn't "change" should it? (if it did that would be a complete new branch to the mtk formulas btw): if my approval drops I do get indeed less specials: but I get also less normal stuff.. (and the 1/50 & 1/150 should "stay").. Also for your reference: the flax, rare woods and woods are all very, very correct! only 1 of these is "off".. What might be happening is that I get a lot of "clues": which account for those 27 lost things.. Though that means mtk is a very good source for clues: 1 out of 12.7 specials on average yields a clue!
