  1. Also in response to the problem with blue + red being purple: well that's when you're talking about painting/reflection.. Those are the opposite colours from the lighting colours: The three basic colours are: red, green and blue! oposites are (in order): cyan, magenta and yellow. (often also called "blue red and yellow" - but this is wrong). Combining red and blue brings you at magenta. Adding more blue makes it indeed "purple": however in equal proportions: green blue and red make yellow light.. (RGB = light palette) (CMYK = "reflection" palette). Also the 2nd godwars "zaros" didn't attend: guthix and zaros never met! (YES that's said during your ghostly robes: "+Even more powerfull than guthix? -Guthix wasn't around back then so we can't say")
  2. Do you pick up green? Because that's two already who have said they pick up green but not gold, while their exp is similar but the costs for green is comparable to crimson (from what I've found at my level at least). gold "stops" at lv 64 though... So at higher levels gold becomes more useless than greens I myself will always pick up alchable/stackable goods: Don't really care about maximizing the xp ratio... And titans are for example worth it: and if you can do titans the unicorn is close.. And if you can do unicorns the abyssal titans starts to come close after that the packjack is definately worth the xp.. And if you're that far the steel titan isn't too hard to get! So as you can see summoning - after lv 52- becomes better and better!
  3. Been testing a bit more... My current adviced method is not to melee it: but range it instead! The method I use is even faster than when I go meleeing (all my combat stats are around 85-89) with both a scimitar or black dagger poisoned. Also it won't use prayer potions. Instead I use black knives: I loose around 10-15/kill so that's: 15*65 = 975 gp/kill. The black drops only pay off for the knifes normally! (if you high alch them). Here is how my setup (atm) is: black med helm glory (fury is better) avas device black chainbody black kite shield black knives black platelegs barrow gloves jennica's ring snakeskin boots (ranger boots are better) in inventory: 2 prayer pots, 2 baskets of strawberries, lots of high alchemies. how to get there There are a few ways to get there: 1) if you're on ancients dareeyak teleport will bring you north west of the black warrior castle: it's a quick run then. Don't advice you to do this though, the wraith drops lots of alchable goodies so missing on high alchemy quickly halves your profits 2) trollheim teleport + trollheim wilderness route. This is the second shortest route, however requires decent agility (64). 3) Game necklace to the bounty hunter area: Also a very good option, slightly longer than trollheim though 4) edgevile: definately worse than the above 3 options: but still only a short walk. + you can make a pitstop at the monastry. How to kill it Well this is the most important part of course... There are 2 "ways" to kill it, which you both need. The first method is just using pray + standard luring so it's lined up at the boxes (refer to any halberd guide to know how this works, it's similar to sidestepping at barrows). This does require some prayer though. You will need to use this method on the very first kill, or when you're getting 'crashed'. The second method you should try to use in all other cases: it doesn't require prayer AT ALL. However it only works in these circumstances: You're the only one there it's aggressive against, AND you stand "in position" before it spawns already. So generally it works only after the first kill on a world. What you do is open the door and stand directly outside of it. If the wraith spawns it will be aggressive and head towards you: now quickly close the door before it reaches you. It will stay aggressive! (if the door is closed before it spawns it won't become aggressive at all). Now do 2 steps south (or north). The wraith will also move 1 step south/north resp. Then move back to the door and open the door. Now the wraith will stay at it's spot and it should be southwest/northwest of you. Open the door and it still won't come closer to you, yet you can range it :). Now it's time to range him: good luck! a small vid I made (sorry for the bad quality, don't have time to edit it) - I was 85 ranged, unpotted not praying at that moment: Ad5400VtNRU drop list Well it's incomplete yet: and tipit is probably better as a reference but some things it can drop and that I really liked: -spirit shield (2 times in 300 kills) -80 oak planks -5-10 various high level runes -12 mithril darts (p) -LOTS of black armor (alch this) -3 unnoted addy abars -LOTS of blue (and gold/crimson) charms Haven't seen sigils/elixers from it though.. So I doubt it actually drops them. evaluation Is this usefull? Yes on quiet times/when the initial crowd dies down. Untill that is the case you're better of with going with like 2-3 people to kill it. In case you go with 2 or more people you can of course still use this technique: just let the other stay at the final spot without wielding full black: once you aligned up everything the others should take their stuff and start pelting knifes too! Is there a faster way! - Yes of course there is: what you could do is leave the door open, and quickly run 1 step north (north, south won't work in this case) while it's approaching you. In that case the wraith will move north too. However thanks to "rounding"/"how the paths work" you need to do this while the wraith is at least 2 spaces away from the door (and 3 from you): else it might (if it's between 2 and 1 spaces) or will (if it's between 1 and 0) move "around" the door. In which case you're better off praying everything. Closing the door is a quick way instead.
  4. that last sentence extactly describes it: it reduces the KO effect from a lot of places. And I guess we all know where koing was the most valuable "thing": When pking.. The whole idea of "pures" came from the fact of being able to ko somebody. So this shield will have even more uses in the upcoming (and current) pvp situations.. Negating the advantage pures have by reducing the KO ability. I can foresee the most common sentence now already: divine noob!
  5. I have yet to see a picture from an elixer drop.. Our clan recorded over 500 kills now: no elixer yet (though 2 shields). So if it drops elixers it's as common as a dragon spear from a skelleton!
  6. You can't switch weaponry during the fight.. ...Can't? As in, your not allowed to, or it will stop being attackable if you switch, I'm guessing that you mean the second one, but whatever. no the first 1: it says something that the spirit makes you can't remove any armor you're wielding while you're "under attack".. (till like 2-3 seconds after the last hit) So you really can't.. And yes you have to use a black weapon, and yes black armor, and yes that's terrible so yes it's not that easy, and yes you need thus to be a fairly high level to defeat it! If only they followed the path of the gwd: where skills are also important for combat related areas..
  7. No: it's just there, I mean the altar in the middle of the wilderness, just south of bh/cw..
  8. You can't switch weaponry during the fight..
  9. nah, hat, chest, legs and both arms need to be "filled" by black stuff: so you can either take a 2handed weapon or a 1 handed weapon + shield.. Since you're prayer (or using safe spots) 90% of the time anyways I don't think defense from a black kite (or black square) is actually usefull: and hence a black halberd might replace it... Currently these are the weapons I'm considering: black long + black kite black dagger (p++) + kite (poison does a lot of damage then) black spear (kp) (kp poison is better than normal poisen isn't it? - and a spear does on overall more damage than a dagger isn't it?) black halberd - safe spotting/camping?
  10. well it's in the spirit world: there aren't revenants there anyways.. And the way revenants work is like: "if it's busy revenants will come": so if you move a lot you hardly notice revenants.. While if you stay at a spot you meet more revenants! (tested this as I often hunt revenants). It wasn't too difficult to discover, the ghost itself talks about the dark warriors, and that he would want to fight them: and when you tried to fight it you can't get yourself to attack him. And it gives a few more hints... At first I thought you had to use a black chain, med and normal sword: luckily you don't have to! You can even wield a black 2h weapon (halberd?)! It's really hard to find a world suddenly lol.. When I got below pic -which was 6 hours ago- it was completely empty in every world. Now I wanted to return to test soloing: and literary every world (yes literary, went twice through the entire list) has at least 1 person of lv 120+.. This is what I hate most about boss hunting :(, well back to the chaos elemental I guess... (that's the only boss that's not constantly populated in most worlds).
  11. *cough* Mourning's End Part 3 */cough* At the end you are rewarded with prism (was it a prism?) to enter the back door of the Temple of LIGHT. I personally have no idea where it is, as it is useless to me. For people who haven't done the quest: The temple of light was excavated by the Mourner elves to find a greater power, which I think was the Death Altar, with which they plan to resurrect Zamorak and take over Ardougne. The start of the tail taken away could be Juna... but do snakes really have tails? Also, it was said... somewhere... that if a second Godwars starts, then Guthix will destroy RuneScape :| That indeed is a good idea: especially since you have to combine lights there, and they are red, blue and green! - And you have to "pass" through a wall containing white light.. @lifemage: no what I mean is that in the past, even before guthix woke up. At least some zamorak followers (or are it people who wanted to overthrow him: The light got weaker so lamreg lit a candle of his own) and maybe some saradomin followers (since "One said right, one said left. The paths crossed and there was middle." looks like instead of only following right or left (zamorak or saradomin) they chose to go following the "middle", "combination route". Notice this is different from what he says about what guthix is/did: guthix "blocked" the route: everybody walks against a wall.
  12. Made me wonder: the sigils aren't coinshared! (o.O)
  13. That's the black warrior castle that you mean :P
  14. Well I didn't find a thread for this already, strangely... Anyways I think we should make a list of (invisible) portals, and it's uses/specialities: my list: chaos altar, visible, 5k pray xp, there's a ghost that explain a story about the godwars/guthix edicts f2p ruins at lv 47 eastern wilderness, visible, ??? (found some strange mark on the wall: but no examine or anything option there) black warrior castle centre (2 steps directly east from the southern door), invisible, a lv 129 spirit you can fight there in full black: supposed to give quite a good number of drops unverified (I really can't find it, am searching for it for 2 hours already): rogues castle..... (any hints on really where it is would be kind). possible: altar in western wilderness, pirate place, lava maze, red dragon isle..?
  15. Anyone also notices it's little weight? - From the normal shield (and assume also the better ones) it's only 2kg! - new skiller's choice instead of a saradomin book?
  16. Divine and Elysian are like the best pieces of equipment out there Divine will kill your prayer too quickly to be useful in many situations. In PvP, you'll be smited out fairly easily. In PvM, if you don't watch your prayer zealously, you will have it drop and you'll probably be KOed if you are at GWD. Still, I foresee them dropping to 15m for the Arcane, 10m for the Spectral, 50m for Elysian, and 40m for Divine. People in RS are stupid and only care about damage, and since the shields have no strength bonus, many will overlook them. For a good bandos tank divine is best: the person can actually watch his prayer pretty good and the damage reduction is really usefull! - Though also the elysian is usefull if you're not tanking since it's more "safe". Bassically these shields are real 'tank' shields: hence they overpower the dfs in most cases! (if you don't need high defense you're better off with a rune defender anyways).
  17. Nah green is obviously guthix: easy to make out from the text + green is "always' the colour of guthix (look at castle wars, it's red, blue and... green!)
  18. Well after finishing summer's end you can go to the chaos altar and enter the spirit world there. There you will find a spirit/ghost.. Who's talking mostly rubbish but I believe he has a great story to be told, here is my converstation (+ things "I" said/chose, bolded things are my personal thinkings about that) Well what do you guys think about this, maybe a big hint for the upcomming (epic) quest? Anybody heard a name which can be made from lemal or Dnagru (or both) before? Anybody knows what they mean by the "wall"/"light"part? Something like a "time line" which has been stopped? Also the 2nd before last line is a pretty big riddle for me: what's meant by prism and the "the start of the tail taken away" - what would that mean? Anybody gets something more out of this?
  19. Well like the title says: where is that dang cave? - I only find a big entrance/block in the spirit world: but I can't enter it! :wall:
  20. Don't spent money unless you have a reliable source of income already! First make sure you get some decent money maker (ranged-aviansees-, melee combat-bosses-, runecrafting -91+-, fishing -sharks-, wc -cursed magics-) before going to spent money on drains like magic, construction summoning etc.. But if you really insist: the only "good" ways to train magic are actually non combat magic: other monsters are much easier to fight and in the speed gain you get you can get more xp by high alching!
  21. ok, but what you have to do with it then?
  22. Don't think so: You get another hint during the quest: "the places are marked by colours too: maybe you can use that".. Those colours are: yellow(gold?) - old use of spirit wolf green - desert wyrm red(crimson?) - spirit scorpion.. So I think the idea is to use a green/crimson/gold based monster there. But which?
  23. such as? Other than farming herbs, which really isn't a big investment, only 20k/seed.. There isn't anything that really "needs money to make money" in runescape I can think of.
  24. Hi everybody.. Started the new quest and I'm wondering: has anyone already discovered which summons to use? - Tried honey badger, crap and the beaver: but all were too "known".
