  1. Oh yes, it existed. It wasn't all that fascinating, though. It was just you standing in the middle of a completely black screen, but I'll try to find a pic. Some player-made fansites have that kind of thing. Sadly, back then I didn't see the wisdom of taking pictures of that kind of thing
  2. Ok, I finally got #4 after about two days. Anything that requires repasting into PHOTOSHOP I find somewhat irritating... Now, I'm on to six. I don't suppose anyone has a good hint for this one?
  3. I agree with what Jagex has to say (how often do I get to say that?). Sadly too many people take this game far too seriously. Everyone should always remember that this is just a game, and it is created for the sole purpose of having fun. When the game isn't fun, it shouldn't be played. On another note, I like how Jagex subtley slipped in pyschological counselling
  4. Hey

Yea, Jagex doesn't really care how long you've been playing. They treat us all the same, down to the last scamming noob. Well, obviously some get banned, but besides that it's all a level playing field. The only advantage old-timers have is their game knowledge. Which is kinda not helpful considering how much the game has changed.
  5. Cool, a cabbage-themed marathon! I have nothing to do... so... Might as well show up : P I seriously doubt I'll pick much cabbage, but I want to see the masses sprinting around.
  6. Maybe they could do that with small offenses, like the first few times of offensive language usage. Make sure they can't talk, trade, duel, etc. and that they have to stay in the game for a few hours/minutes. However... for serious things, like macroing, I think a permanent and complete ban would be good. And yea, that's what the black hole was. Just to clarify, it was the people who went in that used the disk to get back out. The banned people stayed banned forever. As for the death penalty... there ARE gallows in Khazard : P
  7. Hmph. I've entered about a hundred possible combinations of stuff... I still can't find it. If anyone at all has a hint, either post or pm us. My brain clearly isn't firing righ
  8. Hm... made it up to four now. This is tricky... even with the View Source it's hard : P Anyone have any hints?
  9. No, no kind of macroer is allowed. If someone is using an autotyper, they're still cheating and getting an unfair advantage.
  10. Awesome, a riddle! I'm bored while smelting, so I might as well give this a try... :D
  11. Oops... missed it. Man, I gotta start writing these dates down : P
  12. Um... I'm guessing it was an ad on runescape.com? If so... well, companies have hit a new low when it comes to ad campaigns.
  13. Ah, so it's possible to get new ones? Sorry, I wasn't around RS when they were dropped or given out. In that case, they'd probably stay to the 50k or 60k range. Even if they could be replaced, the people who didn't have them would probably still pay a good bit. Then, over time, they'd probably drop quite low as they saturated the market.
  14. Because I have an otherwise unvented anger towards letting people just say stuff unresputedly. That happened too long during the United States election in 2004, and so people started to believe it. I won't get into political specifics here, but I believe now that when someone says something you disagree with you should say otherwise.
  15. They might go up to a couple K, but I doubt they'd go too far up. Maybe hovering in the 50-60k range, give or take a few K. Over time though... who knows. After two more years they might go up to 500k or even a mil.
  16. But the experience gained is the same, and the overall hitting really evens out. I personally favour the scimmy. I just like using swords : P
  17. Um... why exactly do they defeat the point of the game? Last time I checked, the point of Runescape was to have fun. Rares are just in the game to have fun and to spice it up a bit. If you didn't happen to be around when they were dropped... well, I don't see that as terribly bad. Why delete them? Some people enjoy them and enjoy trading them. The only reason that is even a reason at all to get rid of them is because, by definition, not everyone has a rare... And that's hardly a reason. If people want to have rares, let them. But those of us who don't might as well keep on having a good time or save up to buy rares if we feel the need. There's no need to encroach on other people's fun for no reason.
  18. I've been playing on this character for months, and still the only randoms I've gotten have been three smoking rocks and a zombie :?
  19. As one who's seen the whole thing, I'll vouch for that. Back when it was the first 100 players to now... Things have changed, and for the better :D Well, mostly the better. And with more people brings more pressure to make RS even better.
  20. The fact that such a massive game is considered "never heard about' I find funny. I guess that within the gaming community not many people have heard about it. With any luck that'll change with this article. Just imagine how many people Runescape will have then  Just imagine if they came up with a massive update like the RS2 one where they made their graphics comparable to all the other "big name games". But that would probably take so much money that F2P would no longer exist... Ah well. Runescape is still a great game, and whether or not the masses of the world see that isn't really something I'm concerned about.
  21. Because F2p doesn't pay anything (no, really?) we don't really 'deserve' anything. Jagex works on updates and making a better game for their paying customers, which any business has a right to do. If you ran a donut shop (I was hungry), how many free donuts would you give out? Would you give out your best donuts for free, or to the people who payed for them? ^I know that's one of the randomest examples ever, but the point is the same. F2Pers should enjoy the game, enjoy the updates they get, and hope that Jagex doesn't decide to become like every single other major MMORPG and charge cash for everything.
  22. I think that the vast majority of bannings made by Jagex are probably good. I also think that a good bit of the people who did get fairly banned don't like to admit it and come back and cause trouble. There are a lot of unsavory people who break the rules in Runescape, and I'm sure they enjoy causing a little extra trouble. That being said, I have heard of friends getting banned for stupid reasons. Two rl friends of mine were talking to each other and gave each other their msn names. A few days later, they both got banned. :? I think that Jagex needs to relax a bit about giving out screen names in other places. How else are you supposed to contact people if you always miss them in-game? How are you supposed to run a clan website? Or even hold one together? As for the IP issues posted above me, they really need to make sure they have concrete evidence of something before they make assumptions. Overall Jagex is doing a really good job, but they need to be careful and make sure they don't get sloppy.
  23. Saradomin owns them all. He just does.
  24. I always wear full armour, a cape, amulet, gloves, boots, shields, and some kind of weapon. I like to go around prepared :D
  25. I think they should simply add the option to click the top of the "Experience" column, and then it would sort by that for highscores. I don't know how much more effort it might take, but it would be nice to see. It would be a simple button, the same way you can sort most chart things by different categories.
