Argh, this may seem like alot but... it probably isn't: - It looks like you are using filters. If you aren't i'm sorry. If you are using brushes, this is a good first step. But, there isn't a lot of contrast. Either add some more brush layers or up the contrast. - The backgrounds are fairly sharp from any result, don't use smooth texts with them. Use some sharper or pixel fonts. Also, usually keep your texts either white or black. - Use a basic border. 1px black looks fine with anything. Just go to Select -> All then use Edit -> Fill and set 1px, inside and black. - Colours, at the moment they look very flat. This is probably because you are using a hue/saturation layer or adjustment. Instead, get two colours (from render if you use them to help blend), one of which is light the other is dark. Then use the clouds filter (Filter -> Render -> Clouds) on a new layer above all others (except text and border), blur in anyway if you wish and set to overlay. - Render blending. It's not very hard, use colours which are appropriate (see above tip) and learn to feather-&-blur. Duplicate the render once or twice, the bottom render to blur (gaussion by about 4 px) the top to feather (about 4px, usually equal to blurred) and set to hard light or something. (I'll do a proper tut on this some time.) Some good first signatures anyway, move away from filter piles ASAP. Also, before improving the signature itself, learn to blend well. A good signature can be ruined by bad blending. (That is, if you are going to have one)

So you learnt how to use the chrome filter and the layer mask tool? - Border is nasty. Just a plain 1px black would've been fine. - Text doesn't fit atall. It's a sharp text on a smooth (if you can call it that) background. - Colours look far too random of a place and amount. - Background is just... random... Get some brushes.

Some DaVinci ones that came with the computer; Basic but make a nice change.

Well, i see a fight coming on.... Oh that made me chuckle, good one. Anyway, it's nothing special. Some RS cuttings, woopdeedoo. Anyway, what does the objects you put in it have to do with fishing? As for the image itself: - Horrible quality. Never save as a JPG in Paint. It kills it. - Typical RS related signature. "I wan dis lvl i r dis lvl atm plz suport me. oh an chek out mi faked stufz". - No border. - Using the RS font is ok, but make the level you want and currently have bigger, just to distinguish it easier. RS related signatures are boring and easy.

If you want i'll make some sigs with you. But if I do, i'd need you to add the custom texts, I can't install them. I wouldn't be available 100% of the time, but I might aswell help someone else since my shop flopped. If not, nevermind.

umm...i am stupid :-$ ...what? :mrgreen: Mm, nevermind. A PSD is a format (like PNG, GIF or JPG) but stores all information for the different layers. So rather than flattening it, you can freely edit any layer after saving and closing it. I was wondering if GIMP could read it, but I doubt it now... I've never used it.

Urg, you're not blending the render enough and relying on a flat hue/saturation layer again. :| Here, I did a quick example of what i'dve done. Taken one of your backgrounds aswell. I would host the PSD, but I don't know whether GIMP can read that format. If they can, give me the word and I'll PM or post it here. Anyway, - Used your background. - One "blast/flash" white brush and 1 smooth black brush. White brush on soft light 80%, black brush on soft light 50%. - One gradient. Radial set to overlay. - One brightness/contrast layer. +15 brightness, +45 contrast. - Two colour cloud layers. Blue clouds set to colour and yellow/blonde set to saturation 20%. - One white render layer (de-saturate + 100 brightness to overlay). - One 2x render blurred + 30% opacity. - Three render layers. One blurred set to screen 100%, One to normal 50% with 5px feather and One set to hard light 60% and 5+1px feather. - 1px border with 1px white stroke set to soft light with 50% outer glow white set to overlay. - Two text layers, Cad and Metroid. Hope some of this made sense. :anxious: Very risque render ^^;

The moon just looks cut, not shrowded by clouds or darkness. :? Try and make a softer fade to the moon. Dither the ground and add more to it. Something like rocks or dead trees. (Assuming this is the wildy). Lightning looks weird, perhaps a flash/glow of light from it? It looks like a yellow twig at the moment. Sign looks very weird, the stake points one direction and the actual sign the opposite. I think it should just all lean to the left. Instead of having the "Respect it's all in the Look" over the moon, move the chars (and possibly the sign) to the left slightly and have it over the ground. You have nothing over the ground and you cover up the very good moon. (Speaking of the text; It should be "Respect, it's all in the look". You have a random capital L and it needs a comma or semi-colon) Text on the sign looks distorted. His arms. They're floating off of his body. Looks very weird. Sorry if that sounds a lot, I just like to be precise. :-$ One question though; why is the moon and chars really detailed, and then the ground and clouds... not? A signature looks better if it is consisted through and through.

VGA is about 0.6 MGPX. :P

Some songs have introductions that are just so awesome. What's your favourite? Mine would have to be Assassin by Muse. It starts off almost like Nightrider. But then goes into some awesome guitar and drumming. What about you?

It's hard to tell. Probably a 3/10 So many people use that signature and avatar.

Reminds me of this time I went to a PC Arena in my town. It's basically an internet cafe but for LAN games. First time customers get a free 30 mins. I went in for my first time, said i'd like an FPS. They give me Quake (3 I think), about 8 other people playing. (Note; I have never played this, I have played Unreal and games like that, but never Quake.) I go in, grab a gun. BANG. I was killed on my first shot. So, I remembered his name and randomly chased him, with any gun I could grab. Killed him, then I realised the gun was pretty good, so I went on a rampage. Got a 10 kill combo going as the round ended. I started half-way through a game and ended up winning. :P

Because they're rendered. Rendered in 3D programs. 'Renders', such as this is not a render; it's just a cut out of a 2D image, and isn't rendered, however the name Render stuck to it, and so it's generally known as a render. That's my understanding of it anyway. Yarr, that be correct. A rendered image as used in signatures are really just cropped. But i'm not sure why it's referred to as a render.

I love the awards and such in 'Splitters. :D CHIMPICIDE! My favourite FPS ever.
