I'll drop my 2 cents before leaving; No matter what, nobody can decide that you are a terrible person and deserve to die. Even if keeping them in a prison is seemingly horrific and worse than capital punishment. That said, I think prisoners should have the right to end their lives on their own accord, on condition that their bodies be donated to hospitals and research purposes. As an aside, I just looked at a full-scale replica of the cell described in the article above... its not that bad. My bedroom is only twice its size, and the only thing extra I own is a computer. If you're an introvert, the place looks really decent.

St patties has yet again bestowed brain damage on me.
-
A university friend asked me today: "remember that girl in our intro class...?" and I suddenly realized - there's a boatload of people that I was friends with / had a crush on / wanted to bone and now we aren't nearly as many. In my program of course, and some that have complementary classes. I wonder what happen to the people who drop out after their first year... :???:

Quote of the day: "[bleep] man, my profanity sensor turned into a jailbait sensor"

Really? Are they the ones posting their problems and stupid stuff about other people on a public social network? Just wanna slap people sometimes, I swear. I used to feel like that, then I deleted my facebook. Now I feel better. Same here, except I just deleted them. After taking out 7-8 people, my news feed average increased a whole 10 points. Then I upvoted all the posts by smart kids at university and now I feel like a freaking scholar

It blew/blows chunks thats for sure. Habs go from Eastern playoff finals material to a team in reconstruction in only 2 seasons? What garbage.

Who would've thought that driving alone with the soundtrack to the movie Drive blasting away was freaking amazing? God, I feel like such a badass... time to go grab a big ol' pair of - nevermind.

I took protein shakes when I first began but I don't think I really needed them. I gave up bench goals... in fact I set a limit of 200 that I don't want to go over. I can do 185, but I train with the default 135 and don't plan on increasing that. Thanks for posting!

he's been permabanned like 5 times lol, but this time is PERMA permabanned. Its what we get for calling people out on their stupidity/lack of logic. Can't be too direct unless its positive, so the morons reign free. I've had a pretty good day but any day is good when you can drink outside with a light coat on and bbq some burgers. Have a super wonderful day everyone, you're all fantastic in your own way so just keep being yourself

You're equating education to money. Don't you see how it would be a problem if it was up to governments to decide what students can or cannot study by way of differentiating tuition fees?
-
Quebec has the lowers tuition fees in Canada, and Canada has the lowest tuition fees in NA. #firstworldproblems Bolded in case you missed it. Well, I doubt they're going to enforce the picket lines so I'll still go to class... when less than 10% of the total student body votes and it PASSES, well, there's the other 90% who's gonna go to class
-
Soooo, it seems students are against raising tuition fees... hmmmm *does one year analysis* yep, they definitely do not want to pay more for education. I will admit, putting the burden of a recession on students is a REALLY slimy thing to do. But we have the lowest tuition fees in north america... and charging into an alcohol store near the university won`t change the trend. Maybe if the students were less petty acted less predictably I could get behind this one-week strike. I`m in the sciences, so maybe my tuition costs less than it should, but I still have to deal with seeing art students walking around in their lensless glasses and listen to humanities kids talk about first world problems.

Its so awesome when that happens! I remember I was 1 minute away from accepting my entrance scholarship and in doing so committing to the university by e-mailing them when I get an e-mail saying they're offering me more money cause they thought the initial amount wasn't enticing enough

For me, being reminded of this basic fact is actually a nice thing.

Less problems>More problems. A friend put it nicely to me the other day - some people just don't like confrontations. We know a guy who's PhD supervisor is essentially a bad person with bad ethics and participates in scientific fraud. He took this guy's thesis paper, changed the orders of the names so that he's no longer first and then invented data, submitted the paper without his permission and then made the guy do post-hoc experiments for the data he invented. What did he do? Well, he's doing the experiments now... his 7th year trying to get a PhD. I would've flipped my [bleep]ing shit, nobody messes with my hard earned work, especially when it involves roping me into fraud. The fact that your parents do this to you, I'm surprised you aren't rippin heads off.

There's no way Habs aren't finishing 15th. Grigorenko here you come!

Yeah, I assumed most high schools help you make your CV. In fact, one of the only good things I've learned from high school was how to make one... my religion and ethics teacher took the course material, trashed it, and just made us make and polish CVs until they were presentable. I googled some examples and they're all pretty sub-par.

Speaking of which, I wish they didn't [bleep] up and let Kirk Muller go right before switching up coaches. He would've been so awesome  .

Mini Clippers used to be so annoying >_> Today I am reading 100+ pages of scientific papers/reviews and my brain is fried.

I stopped after the first Hunger Games book. Felt like I needed my brain scanned after putting it down, geeeeez.

The thing most men don't realize is that you probably don't even want to be with women like that in the first place. They cray cray, yo. Something that annoys the HELL out of me is people on Youtube on their laptops in my goddamn library spot. Even worse, people on Express computers (set up for students in a rush) watching Youtube. I feel like taking off my backpack, filling it with every book that would fit, swing it above my head and crash it down onto these morons like a warhammer.

I took 4-5 months off. The hardest part of coming back was the mental force it took to actually go to the gym - my body was fine picking up my routine again EXCEPT for my abdominals. Sometimes I'd wake up in pain I'd worked them too much  I'm hovering around 160 lbs right now. I'm still going up, but at a lesser pace. Needless to say my old goal of benching double my weight has changed  My last max was ~180 lbs, I don't intend on going higher than 200 so that's my goal. Right now I do 155 for exercises, can max probably 170-175.

God no. If you need them, sure, but if not go to hell. If you want to look sharper at those conferences, wear a nice, well fitting blazer with chinos and a cool shirt. You'll get many of these "go to hell" comments if you don't need glasses. It is the most annoying way to make people who have to wear glasses not like you anymore. Why pay >100$ (I don't actually know how much glasses cost) for something that sits on your face uncomfortably and pinches your nose/hurts your ears?? I can hardly stand wearing protective lab glasses and I work with phenol sometimes, that's how much I hate glasses. Side note: I'm noticing more and more chest hairs as the years go by. Why are men doing this?

Mix scotch with more scotch, in a nice sturdy glass. Only way to go. Today I was "that one guy" who got that one question right out of a class of >100 on an exam. Funny how I had just joked to my friend about how much that guy must be a huge douchebagnerd when my prof announced the results; before giving back our midterms. I also got caught staring at a girls buttcrack and she seemed put-off until I told her, seriously, that crack kills and got the hell out of there.

Alright, so I've read (skimmed) through the posts and have compiled a nice little list of new things I will now do when home alone : Blast MJ instead of The Darkness sometimes Hey, we do what we do when we're alone because its a more basic thing that you love doing lots, it's not like I'm gonna simply change that EVEN THOUGH talking to cats does sounds fun to do. And I can't stand getting high alone, I lose track of time way too easily. This thread has also made me realize I wish I lived on my own, or with a really cool roomate.
