  1. i take it they have added a new furnace in edgeville? Is it closer to bank than port phasmus and do you need to have completed any varrock diaries tasks in order to access it? This looks like the insentive to push smithing from 68 upwards a bit... G
  2. A couple of thoughts - brothers - can be real brothers, or more likely band of brothers style, ie all white knights are brothers. Remember shield of arrav quests, where you have to team with other players? imagine a quest where you needed 8 players playing at same time, fighting a group of enemies(or one powerful one), with the last two men standing then fighting off for the spoils..... Also, remember that future visions are notoriously unreliable and could be wrong.... G
  3. death of the UNID? this, to me, is the most significant (confirmed details) update - no more guessing what is for sale. This will have massive impact on gaming - guys killing druids may drop 'lesser' unids, concentrating on rannars, snaps etc. People buying will be forced to pay more for unids, as the seller will know the value of them - no more 1k-2k mass unid buys for sure. Lots of people i see on slayer tasks drop all herbs, which i hoover up, often getting very good herbs - i cant see this happening when everything is more transparent. Should be interesting Also, looking forward to rc update, just in time for my 'push from 62 to 70' as part of all skills 70+. I just hope that it is not 'too' dissapointing - everyone always hopes for a complete rewrite of rcing rules - multiple runes per ess, at easier levels, and easier runes, and more exp. Where would the satisfaction of high RC levels be if it was soooo easy? G
  4. There used to be a nice guide on here about mining, smithing and crafting gold. It came originally from main rs forum. I cant seem to find it with search, does anyone have a linl to it? Alternatively, can anyone recommend the correct gold mining technique (all locations opened) - i beleive it was the karamja jungle C shaped spot, over the keldagrim ines option, but what was the banking route? G
  5. I see you have the fisher realm whistle thingy - what is the procedure for mining banking at that place and how does it compare to dwarfs mine? G
  6. It seems obvious (although not popular) that if they cannot increase hit points level, they could REDUCE the strength of ALL weapons and armour proportionally - so you could not longer hit 40s but 30s with the best kit for instance. Everyone can shout nerf or whatever, but if you wanted to prolong fights, this would be relatively easy, and allow more headroom for improving equipment in the future. But i would think that the number of people that this effects is relatively small compared to the player base, so dont expect to see such major changes to the game world. After all, its just for fun... G
  7. Wow - finally started a decent topic! I also skill to target levels, like all 60+, then 85 fletching etc, but as I said, at this point i am constantly chasing bank space. Money is not really an issue, as i have more than i need for skilling at the moment. I never want to spend more than 5 mill at a time on a skill otherwise you end up with like 3000+ hides or magic logs or whatever, and i like to pace myself with different skills so no one gets too boring. BTW - Currently making 500+ anti fires and loving 'make all' potion option. G
  8. What motivates you to skill in RS - for me, consistently, its BANK SPACE! No matter how many lines they add, i never seem to have enough, and I am always chasing ways to get more space while skilling, for instance:- I tried to get rid of all my herbs i had from miscallania, so was continually trying to id them all and make them all into potions, then sell them. So recently i was left with 500 lants, to make anti fire pots. So i needed blue dragon scales, but only had lvl 61 agility. This meant i had to walk all the way around the dungeon to collect them. SO i decided to get agility to lvl 70. So i did as many quests as possible to get agility bonus (including mounrings end 1 + 2, QP now 222). I then sat at wilderness for a week getting from low 60s to lvl 70. By this time, miscellania had accrued 4 weeks of herbs, or over 2000 of the things. Then i thought if i could raise my construction a bit, i could get rid of more clothes/armour etc in the costume room. Then i found the ballooning quest was great for logs to planks, so did that. Then i needed to get 75 firemaking to unlock the route, so burned like 15000 maples (also from miscelania) All my other skills are similarly driven, trying to get rid of raw materials and trying to make room for quest materials. Farming is so frustrating as even after i drop all the dross, i still have like 3 full rows of seeds. Are anyone else driven the same way? G
  9. just did this yesterday and took hours to get past gaurds. the trick is to enter the house at the back, via the trellis. Then go to the east bedroom and wait for the gaurds to go outside. Then go into second room on east and go down the ladder. Catch the rats in the kitchen and that shouldbe you (if you ahve done two rooms upstairs) I am surprised you were able to get down the stairs, if thats where you went. I did not have to do any part of the west downstairs. G
  10. i think swan song then monks is plan. cheers G
  11. which is quickest to get from lvl 62 to 76? And where do you fish? G
  12. sounds brilliant! so now we can 'complete' runescape! G
  13. i would like to see an extension to existing skill calculators, where the time taken to get exp is included. For instance, going from 79 to 80 wc needs X amount of yews, and the average time to cut a load maybe 8.2 minutes, so you would need Y amount of solid time to cut the yews for the level. I remember seeing someone doing a comparison of rune against dragon axes, listing all the average times taken to get full loads and bank, so if a few people did that, at various levels, we could extrapolate how long woodcutting takes at each skill level. I would like to see this repeated for all the other material gathering skills, like fishing and mining. G
  14. withces house - as Will said above, its the first place i got to. G
  15. not much boost, but saves a load (literally) over 1000 yews cut
  16. adamskii, what, if any, is the wc 'bonus' with full outfit? G
  17. well isnt there a breed of lizard that steals eggs from birds nests, then leaves its own in the nest? And a dragon is just a large lizard.
  18. I have used law crafting to get from 55 to 60. Biggest (speed) problem is you cant use pouches so are limited to 27 ess each time. Not much difference tho. So say you can do 2 trades per min, should be 27*2*60 per hour = 3240 per hour you need 592402 laws from 60-91 so 182 hours! from your hours you can do 50 hours per week, so 3-4 weeks..... If its that easy you get a cookie btw, would also cost 60mill ish... G
  19. good luck with this, and dont get dis-heartened. Try going for all 60s after this and you will see you had it pretty easy to 50.... G
  20. I haven't checked the maths, but a good post. As you say, we on this forum actively follow the game, and are not 'casual' users. Therefore we are probably not representative of the user base in total. At the end of the day, they are a business and will add to the game where it will affect the most users, and not neccesarily those on this type of site. G
  21. I think it is important to differentiate between auto'ers (or bots etc) and 'gold farmers'. Autoers are pc controlled players, where there is software controling the characters movements. There are also gold farmers, where there are, for instance, a far east player sitting at a PC, playing the game 24/7 for a tiny wage. The company then sell the GP earned in game to make their real life money. Both are against the rules (marcoing, real life trading) so either could be what we were seeing. If the auto'er script was too hard, it is much easier to show someone how to control the character to kill dragons, and run away when challenged. Perhaps the green dragon killers were just poorly trained people, who did not know what to do when challenged, and most likely did not speak english, so the game interface would have to be learned by hand. Either way, if they go, it will hopefully make the place a bit safer for ordinary players. I certainly dont go there anymore based ont he number of pkers looking for easy pickings. G
  22. ok - thats the solution for the bookcase - take books there and they are 'returned to case' when use on case. What about costumes etc? I have loads of mime, lederhosen etc - what is the deal with them? (just got crystal saw but still a bit off from making costume room) G
