  1. Fighter torso for the +4 strength for if I ever feel like training again. I'd like the running stuff too, since I like minimizing my weight. I'd also like to maximize myself in one category to be as useful as possible for a team. But I have no idea how long any of that takes, so I might not end up getting any of it. By the way, are the items tradable?
  2. No such thing. Myself, I'm 17, turning 18 next month.
  3. Wow. I guess my highschool is just more understanding, but there are absolutely zero pressures like that. People wear what they feel like wearing and nobody says anything about it. I'd come into school tomorrow wearing pajama scrubs and a white t shirt and nobody would really say anything. I've never heard the word 'neek' before, but I'd imagine people only call you that because you get offended by it in the first place. People like you are the reason there are social pressures at your school. You actually care about what they think. You get offended. Well you don't need to. I guess that's too hard a thing to do because most teens are easily influenced by peer pressure, but come on. Just do what you feel like, wear what you want, and don't get so pressured and offended by what people say. I know you'll love it when you get out of highschool because those things don't matter anymore to anyone, but they shouldn't even matter now. The only time brands really mattered in my area were in middle school for like a year. Then people just stopped caring. People wear brands and all, and people are still judged by what they wear to an extent - but that's how life is. The only difference is I don't hear people being insulted like you have to deal with. The one thing I've learned about insults, however, is that if you ignore who's insulting you, they just give up. People insult each other because they love reactions. They'll continue to insult you because you react. They made fun of your ribbons so you took them off. Instead you should have ignored them and not cared about what they thought. You would really enjoy yourself a lot more if you just changed your mentality, which it sounds like you're beginning to.
  4. The Wii just launched. How can you already expect all of those kinds of games? Just know that when that star wars game finally comes out, you'll have the most fun on the wii, swinging your wiimote around with the sounds coming out of its speaker. And LOTR battles, using a bow and arrow wiimote aiming, shooting orcs and swordfighting with the wiimote. To Zelda - I think you would enjoy it. You don't need to know any previous storyline to love the game. It's just a really fun game without that deep a storyline to follow. Most people who like a challenge will love this game. If not just for the old gamecube games, get it for the future of what the wii has to offer. You can play star wars or lotr with a regular controller, or in a few months you can play it like you're really there. :)
  5. I wish you good luck. While I don't get why your first post was your leaving post, I really do wish you success with this. You sound like you've got the determination for it. Just don't ever lose focus on your goal.
  6. The name cold war implies there's no blood... Overall this month seems just a tad above the usual mediocrity. Of course they hype everyone up like usual, but I'm not expecting much. I've learned to lower my expectations a long time ago so I don't end up disappointed like I always did. When they say a high level melee, they mean things along the line of the 130+ melee 'high' melee requirement for the warriors guild. Or how one might need a high level to fight 3 consecutive 100+ monsters. I think it's funny how you guys are actually expecting an update catered to the small high level 100+cbt percentage of rs. It's not going to happen. :)
  7. If anyone knew how to make money without working, the world would be a different place. Nothing in life is free. Just get a job.
  8. If you like having money play runescape If you like having no money play WoW Yeah, because inevitably all WoW subscribers go bankrupt from the huge financial setback of buying the game and those hefty membership fees.
  9. To be honest, I would be okay with dieing tomorrow. Maybe I fulfilled my purpose in life, so it's time for me to go. You really believe you've done all you wanted to at such a young age? Don't you have any dreams and aspirations for what you want to accomplish as an adult? Maybe I'm more alone than I thought I was. I want to make a difference in the world. I want to go into medicine and cure diseases, create new treatments, treat patients. That's just my field of interest though. I find it hard to believe you have no aspirations for whatever your interest is, that you feel you've hit your peak now and there's nothing left for you to accomplish that you haven't already. What is this purpose you think you've already fulfilled in life?
  10. If you enjoy life so much, wouldn't that be reason enough to fear death? At least in my case it is. I like life and just being conscious. Right now I fear it. I'd imagine when I'm old I'd be ready to go, but not now. It seems to me the more you enjoy life, the less willing you'd be to give it up. But given some of your guys' responses, it seems like you'd be completely at ease if you died tomorrow. :s
  11. Well they were around in rs1 just as a rare item, and jagex never bothered making spinach growable with farming in rs2. That'll go down as a good decision, for if it were made by people, you just know it'd get all e-coli'd.
  12. I think Ivandis looks better but a Lunar staff is a lot more useful. Wherever you're walking if you happen to be passing by a teleport spot, you can use it if you need to go somewhere on the fly. There have been a few occasions where I hadn't planned to use the teleport system but since I had the lunar staff equipped it was convenient.
  13. uhhh dude your stupid....you dont need any kinda equipment to make a game..well besides a computer anyways good luck Merc wasn't saying he couldn't make a game. He was saying he couldn't make a decent game that a corporation would be interested in investing in. The same goes with videos. Anyone can make a movie now, especially with youtube to promote it. But the ability to is only the first step. If you're really serious about it, you need real equipment.
  14. Not to crush his dreams or anything, but what professional company would actually buy a game from a 13 year old kid? I've heard of it happening once before. But the kid was a genius. Pomar, you need to realize that you're not even likely to finish the game. It's easy to have huge momentum before you start working, but your head's still in the stars. I highly doubt you'll finish this, let alone try to sell it to any company. I'd start smaller getting your name out by starting your own site with your own games. Keep building on that and you might get some decent ad revenue. If you do well enough, you might get noticed by a company. But I really think you're taking the wrong approach right now. I mean I can't tell you otherwise because you're naive and have a ton of spirit about it, but nothing's going to come of this. You'll learn a lot that could help later, but you're not going to sell this to Disney or Square Enix. Start with smaller goals and gradually move up. If you aim too high and immediately fail, you're just facing unnecessary disappointment.
  15. 0-1 on runescape nowadays. I honestly can't imagine ever pulling 10+. During my peak times I cranked out an occasional 7 and thought that was over the top.
  16. Have you taken anything with caffeine in it or anything for a cold like sudafed before your heart started racing?
  17. I pretty much hate every water temple in zelda games since OOT. Yeah, I really hated the water temple in TP. Dealing with all of the water levels was really frustrating. You have to have way too many things in sync with each other just to reach a certain area and have to keep running back and forth changing the water levels and direction floor tiles and things are facing. Not my idea of fun. I did like most of the other dungeons though.

    morality

    1. The question was not whether or not we SHOULD force our morals on other people, it is whether or not we personally think that our morals would help other people. And the answer is an obvious yes. 2. I never said morals should never be forced on anyone. I said "I never said that..." meaning I'm not giving me opinion on that subject. I don't think it would be safe for you to say we shouldn't ever force our morals on other people, because not everyone thinks murder is wrong. 1. Yes, everyone would think that. But again, so what? I just don't get where you're going with the idea that everyone believes their morals are right. 2. In an ideal world we shouldn't have to force morals upon each other. If everyone's mind worked normally we wouldn't need to is what I mean. But some people who have abnormal judgment just need society or the law to force morals on them. But the law can't have exceptions, so a wide blanket of morals a government deems right is swept over everyone, just because the minority can't be trusted to form their own set of normal normals.

    morality

If I believe my morals are right, then I think it would be helpful. You might not think it's helpful because you disagree with my morals - but I do since they are my morals. Let's say you think cussing is wrong but I don't. Would YOU think it's helpful if I didn't cuss even though I wouldn't? Of course you would! If you didn't, then you'd have to ask yourself why you think it's wrong. I'm not saying that I should force my morals on other people, I'm saying that everyone would naturally assume their morals are the best, otherwise, why would they even believe them instead of a different set? It wouldn't make sense to think your morals aren't the best and most helpful because then you would choose which ones are the best and most helpful. Yes, I agree that everyone thinks their own morals are the best possible set of morals to have. I just don't think that even if someone believes their morals are the best, they should 'help others' by trying to have them take on those additional morals. Teaching is one thing if they want to learn, but we both agree no morals should ever be forced upon anyone.

thats right, you cant help people that dont want to be helped. In other words, you cant force your morals on others. I don't know if you meant it that way, but are you implying that forcing morals on others helps them? Wouldn't it make sense to imply that? If I think my set of morality is correct, then I think that it would help you had to follow them. If I didn't think my views on morality were helpful, why would I even follow them? A person might believe it's immoral to, let's say, tie your shoes in public, for example. Now some people might agree. But if I completely disagree, I'm not being helped if I was tying my shoes and someone interrupted me and started preaching to me about how it was wrong and offensive to people around me. Just because one person believes their morals are right doesn't mean they're helping people if they're trying to force them upon people who disagree with their morals. Morals depend on the individual person. No matter how much someone believes something is wrong, if I believe it's right, that's my own set of morals. And I'm not being helped if someone tries to 'fix' me because they believe their morals are right and mine are wrong.

  22. 2/10. Unlike other rare items, you can't really match it with anything. The bobbles and scarves were nice accessories that you could, you know, wear. The reindeer hat is just obnoxiously stupid and I don't see any reason to ever wear it. It could have been worth wearing if it took over your whole face or had more matching clothes, but it just looks so pointless. I put it in my POH drawer to sit in for eternity.

no surprises really, i use utilitarian ethics in most cases, but i do look at all moral circumstances differently. I switched out the link with the one I meant to put in. Morality-wise, it's tougher to answer those.
  24. People don't necessarily want it removed from the game. It's a fun minigame. They just don't want the game to have such insane xp, entirely replacing the old ways of gaining maximum efficiency combat xp.

I think for a society as a whole, a basic set of morals should be enforced. The masses in general can't be trusted to define their own morals for themselves - or else they'd abuse it and have anarchy. However, to people who discover that they can set and decide their own morals over what has been pushed on them by religion and government, they should go by those as well as they can, without openly infringing on what's already set in place by society. Personally the one moral law I go by is not to steal. That sounds really simple, but it can apply to almost every situation. I just love this passage from the Kite Runner. It really impacted me and put in words how I always felt but couldn't sum up: Here's an interesting test (adult natured) on your own moralities: http://www.philosophersnet.com/games/taboo.htm In general, I anything someone does that doesn't negatively effect anyone else directly or indirectly is moral. That test really shook up my opinions though.
