  1. There's so much wrong with this that for once I can't even be bothered writing about it. Just to mention that there's a brilliant follow-up article in the works by Ts_Stormrage.
  2. Lol.. We forgot to put in that anyone is invited.. This isn't just for TSA members
  3. This is looking alot better now You might want to check your facts though Dragon axe is more like 15%, although I don't have any xp/h comparisons atm Unless you actually play the minigame for fun, lumberjack clothing takes much longer to get than you save by having it. Does a beaver produce planks and logs while cutting ivy? Oh, and I think you mean 'tedious' in your introduction, not 'mischevious' Probably the most useful thing you could add to this is information on the benefits of each particular spot Here's my opinions, if it helps: North Varrock Provides a mix of gp and exp, if you cut the yews and chop ivy while waiting for respawns. South-East Varrock You can plant a magic tree in the farming patch for the same effect as north Varrock. North Falador No advantages here. South Falador Yew tree is also close by. Further from a bank than North Varrock though. South-East Taverley Similar to South-Varrock, but no bank and the tree patch is further away. Ardougne Church Large amount of ivy here, but spawns are fast enough that is largely irrelevant. North Yanille No advantages here. South Castle Wars No advantages here, unless you really like the atmosphere.
  4. You might want to add that if you don't have 83 farm (Brimhaven spirit tree), you'll need to charter a boat from the catherby dock instead (240gp)
  5. I can verify that the average is around 16.9 (I was 85 magic when I did this) Current GE Prices are: 16.9 Glass - 8650 13 Sand - 2470 13 Seaweed - 4082 2 Astrals - 506 6 Fires - 36 Profit Per cast - 1558gp at 350 casts, 545k profit/h at 550 casts, 857k profit/h It's also rather important to note that glass prices are really high right now. If you drop it back to 460, the same price as this time last month, your profit drops right down to 375k at 550 casts/h. However, I fail to see how you could possibly use mousekeys to open your bank, deposit the glass, withdraw two separate items, close your bank, cast, and repeat. Surely it'd have to be an external program.. And neither method changes the fact, that this is miserable xp - around 20k/h at best.
  6. Umm.. where are you getting the 4x SC tool info from? Nothing I've read comes close to implying that
  7. Sorry to be negative, but alot of this is completely pointless. All people need to know is where to go, and exp rates - which you did a terrible job of (measure the amount of xp gained in an hour, not the time taken to get 1k xp). I don't think you need to justify why they should be training wc, even though your reasons are completely irrelevant, and you have four pictures showing exactly the same thing.. This could be written alot better in the space of half a page, rather than the three you took here.
  8. Idk where you're getting that from, but it's waay too high
  9. Kinda.. SC gear works by making the game treat each action as two actions, so you'll get faster xp/h, but brawling gloves will only last half as long
  10. Oh. I'm an idiot. I don't need a function at all to go backwards.. if you know the exchange rate, you can use any base number of shards to find out what that shard is effectively worth.. So to find how many shards you need, it's simply the needed number divided by the effective value. 99 Summoning from 52 with terrorbirds? 2.2m shards 2.2m / 3 1/3 = 660k 660,000 shards. Done. Thanks for all the help tipit ^.^
  11. Are you f2p or p2p? You're asking somebody to do 250 runs for you, at about 1 run per minute, for 90k? If you're p2p, just use duel rings and do it yourself If you're f2p, go do air runes in varrock Either way, if you want someone to run with you, you're better off asking a friend to do it for a little while.
  12. Hey I've been trying to figure out how to work out how many shards you need, when you know the total amount you need, and are swapping your pouches for shards. My math has gotten a little fuzzy since I finished high school, so this is stumping me >.< To find how many shards from a total amount, first we find the equation for the total shards from a base amount, and then take the inverse of that. We know you get 70% of your shards back Lets assume you start with 100k shards, which we'll call 'a' so for the amount of shards you have at any time, the equation is y = a * 0.7 ^ x to find the total amount of shards, at first I tried integrating this: Wolfram Alpha Calculation That gives 280k shards. From using excel, I know that the answer is 333,333 shards. The difference between the two is that using excel calculates how many shards you have at each exchange and then adds them up, rather than doing it for every point on the line.. it's like taking the area under a bar graph, vs. under a curved line. The error margin is the area of the (roughly) triangular shapes between the bars and the curve. So I came up with this: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sum+100000+*+0.7+^+x+x%3D0+to+infinity So to find the inverse of this log10(y) = log10(a) + log10(0.7^x) log10(a) = log10(y) - x*log10(0.7) At this point it might be useful to clarify: a = starting number of shards x = number of times you have exchanged the shards (Assuming you used them all before exchanging) y = the number of shards you were given back after the exchange Aand that's as far as I can get on my own. I can't wrap my head around what method you would need to do this in reverse.. We know how many effective shards we need, but not how many to get there.
  13. I've slayed to 82, and I have ~720 blues banked I think I made a graahk once.. other than that I haven't used any

  15. [hide=] I am well intentioned. How about you tell us how it could be done better, then? I'd be glad to, buddy! 1) Stop tooting your own "look ma I know how to code" horn by yapping about writing your own forum software because this forum is run by a bunch of volunteers who get paid as much for their hard work as I do to tell you you're an idiot. The fact that they are volunteers (many of whom don't even play Runescape anymore and don't have that link to the forum) means that it is of course a great and feasible idea for them to simply use prewritten forum software. 2) Your nerd rage arguments about how self-written software is much more secure and better organized and blah blah I think I'm going into a coma, right here we go again are also irrelevant because of the nature of the situation- a bunch of volunteers, a not-for-profit forum, the fact that the forum software is prewritten, and the (i'm guessing) insane amount of work that would be required in creating your own board from scratch 3) I'm not normally one of those chumps who thinks that hypocrisy dilutes the strength of the message, but in your case, with a forum that is pretty much an exact clone of tip.it's (right down to the use of phpBB) stinks of "do as I say, not as I do." If your sorry [wagon] is "too lazy" to even create a website that doesn't break every time someone uses it, the idea of you telling everyone here to do the incredible amount of work in writing forum software is nearly funny enough to make me shatter a rib bone. How about instead of giving us your condescending opinion disguised as "constructive criticism" you go write your own strongly-typed forum software and prove us all morons? [/hide] Way to rewrite your first post at double the size with no more content. How about we all just keep quiet until someone has something constructive to say
  16. so yeah.. I got 82 thieving : 82 summoning \ and 99 fm 8-) (at the same time as Psi)
  17. I agree with deathmath on his WoW article - it's nice, but only in small quantities. As for jp's "Wake Up" article.. well, I hated it. In the last five months we've had 5 new quests, 4 pvp updates, MA and it's update, Two summoning upgrades, the run energy upgrade, and a change to the gravestone system that I love. Granted you might not yet have a shiny new skill to play with, but I this 'upgrade year' is doing alot for RS to bring the underlying gameplay up to a higher spec. He also pointed out that everything seems to be in the pipeline, but nothing comes out. I believe this is because new content these days has to be bigger, better, and more polished than it did in the last few years. Your expectations have gone up, and so has the corresponding development time. Perhaps I have a different perspective, because lately I've been kept busy trying to catch up to the levels of those in my clan, but perhaps those who are complaining should go and take a look at what they enjoy most about Runescape. If it's the first twenty minutes of trying out a new update, I think you'll continue to be sorely disappointed.
  18. May I be added to the P2P List? Rsn: Lorexvath
