  1. Great article with Excl (I believe he deserved to win, his video was very entertaining - the irish dancing was very impressive, though pretty boring). Great article Master_Smither. Was the fuss worth it? Being on the side of the fence that applauded the changes, I am not in a position to judge much. But if I take Jagex word about it, then the fuss was not worth it.

Yeah, I wouldn't do it, but someone desperate for easy cash over the net... I wouldn't bet against it. I see where you're coming from now. As a girl, whenever I need cash and I think of the internet, I always think how much I could make just flashing my boobs around. Stuff like that never occurs to me. :P Lol that made my day!
  3. Some F2Pers like to dream of a better game, some of us P2Pers like to remind them it's already out there.

It's short-sighted in the sense that allowing it for personnal accounts would also open the door to RWTers. As for following the rules that you or I agree with, I can't really be that hypocrit to deny that. I agree with you on that point, so does Bill Maher! Oh well, I was only specifically adressing the idea of sharing between account, not the RWTers. Also, it might open it up a little, but then you'd still have to have people create the accounts and then complete all those quests to do the trading, which given the time involved, I don't think they'd be too inclined to do it. My point is there are tons of retired accounts with lots of QPs that would be "up for grabs" by malicious RWTers. I agree it's not a realistic claim, but it's still a possibility. I'm also biased as I only have one account and don't see the point much in having multiple accounts, but eh...that's just me.

  7. Very interesting. What would be interesting with about 2-3 months worth of datas: -peak and bottom times during the day (using whatever time you're on, we can always translate to our own time zone) -peak and bottom during the week. If you don't keep this thread updated, at least come back when you have enough datas to determine those!
  8. On the RS frontpage. Yeah I concluded as much, but is it automatic like every 5 minutes or he just randomly looks at the front page once or twice a day and input the numbers himself in a spreadsheet? Just wanna know what's his method...
  9. yeah very interesting, how are you getting the datas?

That's to prevent players to transfert easily to their own accounts. Or multiple loggins. The biggest flaw though is that 10 000 player could trade their limit to a single user. Welcome back RWTers! Yes well I never really cared much for the rules of trading stuff to your own accounts. To be honest, I'm not surprised at all. That would not be the first short-sighted statement I read from you.

That's a pretty naive way to view why people join the police forces... Status and privileges are very dominant with this type of job. Very true but they are added bonuses, not incentives to join. Aren't bonuses the same as incentives? I mean having privileges and status if that's your goal is an incentive to join... And I meant status as "public authority", not as ranks and hierarchy in the force. Privileges are kinda obvious, no speeding tickets especially in small towns.
  13. The Great Orb Project activity bar. Wasn't that introduced to prevent freeloaders? I'm not familiar with GOP.

  16. There are way better training methods, most of them reauiring membership though.
  17. All skills getting better training methods in the next couple kills : likely. All skills being as fast as cooking and firemaking are these days in a couple years : highly unlikely. Look at slayer, in 4 years it went from a 12-13k per hour max to 18-25K per hour max on average with the new equipment. That's doubling previous standards, but nowhere near the rates you can get with the fastest skills.
  18. grats, 99 ranged is very impressive for a 3 years old. Good luck with pre-school!
  19. One more factor if we look at gertjaars' XP, his summoning right now is deflated because of the fact he hasn't used any of his charms from slayer, magic or ranged training. I'm pretty sure there's a 20-30 mil XP sleeping somewhere that could be had within a week only with blue charms. I predict he will break 2 bil XP before the next skill is released.

I also don't know how botting works, all I know is there is/was evidence of them affecting the economy. As for quest, I have no idea, your guess is as good as mine.

We are on agreement on that point, slightly. Not so much here though, half the skills are money sink, while the other half are at the opposite side of the fence. The pinciple of quests is to get rewards, the principle of getting xp...well it's to get better levels. Non questers are just doing that, getting better levels, that is their reward (higher combat level, skill capes and better position on the highscore). I agree, then why is it so important for you then? If only high levels can trade more and these are the players than mainly don't need an additional 100K, why would changing the mechanics be so important? Are you talking about extended trade limits or absolute free trades for high levels? I don't mind that much higher trade limits for higher levels but absolute free trades for high levels is a no go from my perspective. There are too many high level accounts out there (both active and retired) that could hand up into RWTers hands and macroers and goldfarmers would once again roam the planes of RS.
  22. I understood the first time around, you seemed to have missed my point though. Why would I sign a petition to something I DISAGREE? You asked us to sign even if we disagree, I don't see the common sense with that. So far though, you have not suggested reasons as to why Jagex should do this, except to catter to old school pkers. You blindly rejects the reasons why these changes were introduced in the first place. You even go as low as to suggest only intelligent game makers would have kept the old school pking while making sure RWT was impossible. So far, I have seem no valid suggestions from you, only some kid's wishful thinking that "the past will come back if we wish it very hard!". My prediction is that your petition will fail like the hundreds we have witnessed in the last 20 months.

Someone would probably bot to gain money to later sell to someone else, that's what macroers and goldfarmers were all about. A lvl 99 wc bot might have more experience and levels than a quester, is that bot more experienced? You only seem to view that problem from the side of the gold buyers... there are plenty of them in the game but they have been made silent due to the impossibility of getting substantial money from sellers. If you make the trade limits respond to xp and levels, you will yourself surrounded once more by goldfarmers stealing your trees or combat spot. Unless you meant keep the trade limits but make them evolve with xp and level only. For my part, I think questers don't have enough rewards for doing all those quests, changing this would be a slap in the face to these players.
  24. langer replied to Gerbil's topic in Rants
Pures and skillers choose to limit themselves... I find xp to be unfair because it doesn't "show" how long a someone has played. I wouldn't mind if it was a formulas based on QP, XP and Total level, but with the QP giving a higher % of the trade limit. I didn't say skilling was not earning it. I meant getting cash from someone else is not earning your own cash. You mean someone already cheating would not cheat with another mean if he had the opportunity? RWTers used to do both at one time when playing RS was a chore having to compete with bots and goldfarmers...
