Well they use their player base as testers in every update and so far, the game is still beeing played and profitable, so no reason to change it really. There's slight chaos after every update when the players adjust, if the game can't adjust to the new behavior, Jagex tweaks what is not done through natural gameplay.

I feel old... When did you guys start playing?
langer replied to addy--cady's topic in Questionnaires
february 2004, I had the "chance" to play that dinosaur game called classic. -
Nice. Thank god I'm not the only one that refuses to buy fish to get cooking 99. Did the same thing while studying business management and got around 92 fish and enough for 95 cooking when I got my degree. Never bought a single fish to get my cooking up and I'm 1,2k monks short of 99 cooking at the moment. Skills I train these days: WC, Farming and magic.

Those two statements contradict each other. I'm with Mike on this one, this is a contradiction even after your clarification. A pure is the opposite of a well rounded character. This is not flaming, just arguying.

I'm pretty confusef at this moment, because aside from the first day when some monsters were hard to click (like gargoyles used to be), I haven't experienced anything all you guys seem to get. I dreaded HD because when it first came it was lagguy and I couldn't play in a small window, but this update has no major fault from my perspective, the shops are a slight set-back but I'm pretty sure Jagex will fix some items in the near future (shards being the obvious one).

Not for all players, but it will surely be an incentive for those incline to make a batter profit while skilling.

I don't get how it relates to adapting... You mean doing these spells because mind runes are more available? You must not be trying hard enough... I just bought 10 law runes 4 GP under mid price. Sure it took me half a day to get all I needed, but it that so bad? If you can't buy something at max price, then there is not enough supply. Suppliers in many cases are players: skillers and monster hunters. When demand is higher, prices wil raise, the suppliers will have an incentive to gather these items. Buying from stores to sell to the G.E. is a way to make money, but probably not something the game creators wanted their players to focus on. When an item is released, there a re two ways to get it, buy it through inflated price via junk-trade or... not be lazy and get it yourself. I get the feeling that you want to have what you want the moment the need emerges in your mind. You seem to think that pre-G.E., the moment you wanted something, a trader would magically appear to trade you in a matter of minutes. There were lots of things that could be obtained quickly, but there were also lots of items that would require hours to gather via forums and world 2. At the moment, unless the item is being bought out or supply is ridiculously low, you can get many items instantly at max price. Prior G.E., have you ever witness an item being rightly prced upon its release? Jagex might not be the best at pricing items, but players are definitely not better at this. When you can't get an item via trade, you simply get it through another avenue (just like the people that kill the corporeal beast to get sigils). Sure it's frustrating, you have to adapt and not be lazy, change is often hard to accept. I have no idea why would someone go out their way to sell an itam for less... Going through all the rune store is really a last resort option... that means no one is selling, no one is RCing, you don't want to RC and you absolutely need these runes in a matter of seconds... Plan ahead and you won't lack what you need. And the run update is pretty good for Runecrafting, try it someday, I hear it gives you RUNES.

I guess I'll have to adapt to the situation, which is not that bad from my perspective. It's tedious to DIY if you don't like it and getting items slowly through the G.E. just means you have to plan in advance what you wanna skill. I don't mind planning in advance. It's a great thing that junk is not stable, it was never meant to be used this way. Pre-trade restrictions was much harder to buy. You needed to have the right seller online, the right price and the quantity. I usually have the right item the other player wants, it's called GP.

Yeah I know, I wish there had been more content while training those skills. But also better training methods. The most efficient training methids are mostly mid level ones... teaks cuttings, barbarian fishing, granite mining...

I super pot on all tasks even though some don't require super def. I use all my specials with either SGS or DDS when fighting dragons. All prayer tasks are done with zammy brews and super str with pray pots and holy wrench. All non-prayer tasks are done with the 5% str prayer when I have enough pray points left. After a task is over, I use up all remaining prayer points and specials, then tele lumbridge for fast pray recharge and head over to shilo.

I agree with skills having huge gaps and Jagex not filling them fast enough for my taste.

I don't have the same opinion on the matter and like you said, you should stop playing a game when it's not fun anymore, but there are 2 points of your post that require adjustments. In 2007 when the peak players was at 200K, there were countless bots and goldfarmers. That number was inflated because of that fact. The simple mention that GP is made worthless is very thin and short-sighted. Some items have been given a weird fix with the latest update, but nothing ground breaking worth saying GP are now worthless.

No hostility in there, it's just my usual way to reply to kiddies.

Summoning is at the moment a unique skill that requires both money and time investment to level. If you take out time investment, you get another generic skill. Charms are fine the way they are and it would be a pretty bad move to put them on the market. I wouldn't mind other ways to get charms, but trading is not an option from my perspective.

It's probably pretty useful for new players and it's a nice change to the standard arrow. Oh and by the way, looking back at your opening post, I think it's a good thing that Jagex babysits you.

People have every right to rant and blame all they want. Your analogy to parents giving me life is pretty thin. Let's say my parents beat me up during my childhood, I can't blame them for having mental problems because " hey they gave me life!". I might not share Me_Hates_Libs point of view on a lots of things and certainly hate it when he just rants for ranting, but whenever he rants with facts and arguments, I don't mind because he's got a lot of good points and some of Jagex moves are worth ranting against. Lastly, it looks like the OP is pretty young judging from his argumentation, wrting style and use of smilies , if that is the case, sorry if I hurt your feelings, if that's not the case... you really should bag on your parents!

A tie between cooking and fletching for me, but strenght is up there, too many to be "admirable". Top capes from my perspective : Rc, mining and agility. I can't stand training those skills for long periods of time so I "admire" players who have achieve 99 in those skills. I'm tearsing and circusing my way to 99 Agi slowly, Lamping and penguining RC to 99 and dark beasts rune mining my way to 99, I expect to never reach those levels!

I prefer geting rune scimmy as a drop as I can get more cash from them. Never used either of them in the last 4 years though...

I got 99 attack at about the same time I got 85 slayer back in 2006. I probably got it on an abyssal demon camping there the first week or so. I ended up getting all melees and hp at 99 quickly after that. Took me 3 years to get my other 99, slayer during the 2008 december holidays, 99 ranged while slaying/cannoning in february and magic during the last month after getting a couple of brawlers from PVP. My next 99s are probably farming (when the prices will drop a bit), cooking (I need about 3k more monks from fishing to get that awesome cape) and fletching (made 200k addy bolts from smithing and training in lvl 1 wildy is very rewarding). Grats on your lvl by the way, the first 99 is always special.

I used to cut eucalyptus, but I'll have to check the prices next time, as yews can be better depending on the market.

they are not awesome xp, they have pretty high def.

What Determines Your First Impression on Others?
langer replied to Technologic's topic in Questionnaires
Grammar and date the poster joined are two big factors. Their name also, whenever I see pure or pker, I know I'm not gonna be on the same side of the fence as them as I don't pk at all. Whenever I see leet speak, netspeak, lots of smilies, I usually know I'm not arguying with someone my age. If their are being way too confident about their poor arguments, I'll start to be condescending, if not, I'll try to make them understand. -
While I love my slayer rings, they cost a ton! Getting one ring from the slayer rewards is the equivalent of paying around 10K GP per tele (opportunity cost of runes). While getting the ability to craft them makes up for it in the long run, you have to support the opportunity cost of around 850K when getting that ability. Every ring cost after that around 200 gps for the gold bar. Using 1000 rings = 1.05Mil cash spent and opportunity cost for 8000 teleports. An average teleport will cost 131 gps if you use 1K rings. For the average player that will probably use only 100 rings, every teleport will cost on average 1.088K gps... For the player that plans on getting the ability to "complete" the game and will use only 10 rings, the averaged cost of a teleport will be : 10.65K gps... I find it worth it, but so far I've already used 80+ rings... I will only be satisfied at 150+ rings used.

34Mil xp HP and I have never gotten a left half. I don't care about the price, I just want one as it is a rare and probably one of the hardest to get as a drop is very impredictable. All those 20K+ numbers I believe, the 250-300 number is probably the result of a brain bubble.

getting a 3rd pouch and a dose of summoning potion can be useful too.
