  1. The difference between 69 prayer and 70 prayer in combat levels is about 0.125, but the ability to use piety over chivalry gives a larger boost than indicated by the slight combat level gained or not.
  2. I just did an Iron Dragons task with extreme attack and strenght along with super anti fire while wearing my zammy book. I noticed a big difference as the task flew by quite fast. One task is not a sample though and so far, these new potions are pretty awesome for slayers.
  3. I sure can. Granted it's not on the same level in comparison, but it's the same principle.
  4. From a pker's point of view, I'm not surprised. These potions gives a pretty interesting bonus for combat training and slaying. Not pointless at all.
  5. Thank you for showing us the I.Q. of a typical pker. I have nothing more to say as you kinda prove my point. You want to have fun, sure, but as long as no one has an advantage over you because you are lazy to get that advantage yourself.
  6. By that attitude, cooking fish helps you in Pvp to stay alive. We MUST add cooking levels to PVP. People who fletch their own bows must have their combat levels incrased. People who craft their own dragonhide armour MUST have their combat levels incrased. ETC. Jagex really need to completely rework how combat works in Runescape, making it much less random and having it actually represent what levels you have in your combat skills. Armour needs to reduce the max hit of someone attacking you. I fail to see how someone can hit a 75 on me when i'm wearing no armour, and still do the same when i'm in full Statius? In this case, Herblore gives you a clear advantage that others do not have, and therefore should add to your Combat Level. The ability of cooking Monks doesn't give you an advantage: a player with a lower cooking level could just buy the cooked Monks off the GE. I think removing the pots from PvP is a good thing, however, removing them from Minigames as well was a stretch too far. Void is untradeable so that should be allowed in PvP? As is anchor. Unradeable doesn't mean they can't be used in PvP thats just a poor, poor excuse which people are using because they don't like having a disavantage in PvP. If they made supers untradeable would it be unfair? Nope its all part of player development, when I started pre-GE and trade limits the only real way to get potions was to make them yourself. You either brought in bulk, had to repeatedly go to world 2 or make them yourself. Don't you lose imbued rings upon death? Don't you lose void upon death? Seems you two either missed my point or don't understand the concept of risk vs. reward. Edit: Oh and sure, the potions are lost upon death, but what is that compared to void or imbued rings? You don't lose the time you've spent on leveling your herblore up. Same thing for imbued rings.... you can get another enchanted as long as you have the rank and the credits. If you compare two players with the same stats and gear but one has the ability to get an imbued ring vs the other one with a plain ring... Should the one with the MA rank get a higher combat level base on the "possibility" to have that ring? You also don't lose the time you spent getting your MA rank when you die.

Cooked fish, bows and dragonhide armour are all tradeable, just sayin'. And about the full Statius thing, you lose the items upon death. It's a risk vs. reward system. You don't lose Herblore levels upon death. Anyways, I'm not trying to get into an argument here really, I'm just stating facts. I'm neutral with this update, and don't really care, since I don't PK much these days anyway. Getting the best rank in Mobilizing Armies gives access to the best combat rings... Should Jagex give combat levels to thoses with the maximum rank in MA? This is exactly the same thing. I don't mind that people with dedication get better rewards. This move by Jagex is the result of giving in to the typical lazily built pker. This is a slap in the face to all mains out there. I still think the potions are nice and the update a good thing, but that removal leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
  8. This is so short sighted. Extreme potions will give a significant boosts to any form of combat training. Slayer, which is the slowest skill to level, has just received a slight nudge upwards. Anyone with the level to make them and not using them is by definition, a noob. If you were only talking about overload potions, you might be right, but you lack the ability to make yourself clear. Try school for a couple days, it helps.
  9. Right you are. However, I was talking about PKing, not PVP. Full drops would be a return to pre-07 PKing, where it WAS a good source of income. PVP back in the day was a money sink... It was not a money making process like PVP is now. Every fight, there were people wasting/using pots ans food that were largely left on the ground when someone died. Only pkers that succeeded in gaining more cash through kills than supplies and death would agree that it was a good source of income. Your idea is very sound, but it's probably too complicated to have the right implementation and the player understanding to work. The best idea to have full drops in PVP would be to get a duel arena type of world where you get to fight a random player and the winner gets the loot plus some untradeable gear. That would be a fight to the death without rules, teleing and running. Only one world available to reduce the chance of RWT. Once you accept to get in a fight, there's no turning back, you win or you die.
  10. My record is 156 with 251 QP and I suck badly at tears. My friend just recorded 203 tears last week with maximum QP.
  11. Very nicely balanced character! All skills 75+ is a goal I expect to achieve in the next months. Only 4 skills and 6 levels to go. Grats and good luck in further goals.
  12. This wouldn't be a bad idea, much like treasure trails.
  13. This is not the first time that we have skilling requirements for combat, not by a long shot. The best combat gloves in the game were released with Recipe for Disaster a while back. Getting the 175 QP to be able to get the best gloves required a combination of several skills to be trained from mid to semi high levels. When the dragon scimitar was the ultimate strenght training weapon, you needed also a couple skills to be trained just to be able to weild that weapon. Skilling requirements for combat is NOTHING NEW! What is different is that this update is a reward to the dedicated top players. The elite. Not the players who train for 2 months on spiders to own in PVP. I don't have the levels for most of the new potions, but it drives me to raise my herblore just to get acces to them. Jagex succeeded in making players interested in herblore again, not just for their total levels, but for the rewards. The only thing that they need to do now is add at least one new farm patch to balance the need for more herbs. Farming is gonna get updated, Jagex are currently filling up the gaps and I wouldn't be surprised if in 2-3 years we get the removal of the 99 cap (alo hoping for it in a way).
  14. Someone with those levels deserves to own. I have no problem with that.
  15. It will get you to 125 from 99. Anything giving a boost to slaying should be done IMO. But only upgrade the potions you need on the spot as not to clutter your bank. I have a feeling overload is mainly for pkers, or slayers ans campers with SGS, bunyip, unicorn or excalibur E
  16. Looks like the upgrade year is indeed the best high level year so far. I had predicted extreme potions a while back (even the name!), but never thought they would be that high level or even untradeable, I don't mind. anyone willing to invest that much on a skill should get rewards accordingly. This game is getting better and better. Early grats on the next upgraded skill!
  17. You have it slightly wrong... 7 % revenue does not equal 7% profit. It just means that 7% of all money Jagex receives comes from ads. unkn0wnwarrior says F2Pers far greatly outnumber P2Pers, for comparison's sake, let's say there are 2 out of 3 players that are F2P. That would mean 1/3 of all players contribute to 93% of Jagex revenues; while 2/3 players contribute to 7%. That would mean a single P2P player would contribute about 25 times more than a single F2P player. I would say that it justifies pretty much why members get more updates.
  18. Don't forget to get it repaired first!

  20. You should make money with slayer. It's not the best way to make money, but if you get tasks from zanaris and up, slayer should be profitable. Seeing as you haven't unlocked some mid level slayer monster, it's no wonder you find slayer to be not profitable as your slayer master probably gives you normal monsters to fight (which should still give youa profit). The only way to not make money via slayer is to powerlevel it with pray pots, cannon and not pick up drops.

  22. if you enjoy it, it's worth it. If you enjoy slayer more sand would only do dust devils for a d chain...then it's not worth it.
