  1. Age: 18 Answer: 1) to remove the Taliban - an extremist Islamic government from power part of George Bush's "axis of evil" 2) their reason - to prevent the use of WMD supposedly hidden by Saddam Hussein's regime (again extremist Islam). Many believe it to be for oil however. 3) Fundamentalists and insurgents who want the UN forces out of their country 4)The head of Al-Queda a Islamic fundamentalist group bent on the destruction of the Jewish and Christian faiths as well as the Western world through an Islamic Jihad (lit. Holy war) Do you watch a lot of news: yes
  2. What if it's pear cider or even made of something else :P Then its not proper cider and should be shunned at all costs. Also @ ginger, mind if I ask why you don't drink? Can't help but be curious.
  3. Option C) Cider - its made of apples and therefore good for you  ooohhh arrr where my tractor *insert similar south west comment here*
  4. I wonder how Americans would do on an English counties test  I got 64% mostly because I'm capable at jigsaws rather through knowledge of America.
  5. That was either an intentional jab or one hell of a Freudian slip
  6. Well, I do kinda believe that, we can't exactly be helping the environment right now, can we? No, I suppose not. I'd much rather be on nuclear power than oil. I'm just very irritated that politicians are trying to use global warming as an excuse to tax everyone. Yea, because it worked out so well on Three Mile Island and Chernobyl... To be honest, I'd rather have global warming than a nuclear meltdown. Both mortgage our souls, but nuclear plants have a higher interest rate. Because nuclear technology hasn't advanced at all in the past 20 years - plenty of countries get a large percentage of their energy from nuclear sources safely. I wonder how many fossil fuel plants have exploded over the years.....
  7. Trapical will win this thread *waits*
  8. I'm confused, does this technique work or not? Replies have confused me no end - is it still possible to get the 650 on his own? Btw any suggestions on level requirements?
  9. Baron, come to the dark side! It's your only hope! :P (obviosuly you shouldn't take my advice seriously) *as Skywalker* I'll never join you! do you cut my hand off now or later? Man you made me feel better about existential doubt
  10. You know I'm not sure If I know myself anymore.
  11. Brilliant, exactly what I needed, thanks everyone who replied
  12. Hi all - recently bought myself a new phone with mp3 ringtones for a change. I haven't bought myself a memory card for it yet so I'm limited memory wise so I wanted to cut some of my favourite mp3 tracks down to 30 secondish samples so I can put more on there. I tried a google search and most were either professional (and thus expensive) or free and flagged red by siteadvisor. So I was hoping someone can provide me a safe and free piece of software to use. As simple as possible please! Thanks in advance.
  13. 1) don't be cheap, pay for one of the best fps of its time 2) stop playing games at school - silly person
  14. Man I wish I could, but I'm a southerner and scared of your scary north-lands. Bristol isn't too bad for clubs, it makes a nice change from cider and the wurzels at least! Probably my worst experience of clubbing was at a packed place, had to push n shove to get anywhere, someone pushed me and silly tipsy me pushed back a little, turning round to a man mountain of bouncer staring down at me. Hasty HASTY apologies worked luckily - only the very stupid argue with a sober, paid to hurt people bouncer when they are much smaller and drunk  . I've always found the taxi queue to get home fun to watch as well.
  15. hmmm, this seems to be a new happening...we could formulate lots of these together and call them "news". We could record these on some kind of material and sell them to the public....paper. Yes a paper of news! A "Newspaper"! By Jove I think we've got it!
  16. So anyone who voices an unorthodox opinion is assumed a terrorist or potential murderer? The kid was a bit of a nut, granted, but he probably wasn't a murderer, and come to think of it, wouldn't there be some kind of security checks before you went into one of those things? I'm not sure how it works in America but a metal detector might not be too far-fetched. That view (MPC) would have more relevance had the police tazered him when he was actually in a position to physically pull a gun - from what I saw the guy was face down on the floor completely pinned but just wriggly enough to prevent the handcuffs being put on. There was no way that kid was able to pull a gun in that position and had plenty of opportunity to do so before he was restrained. Anyone know whats going to happen to the police who did this? If anything?
  17. *approves* A thumbs up to you sir.
  18. Quick! Everyone become terrible actors! Its the only way to fight these things!
  19. *sigh* fine then
  20. And what evidence and rational reasoning have you used to attain that judgement? Or did The News of the World tell you that its true? You got any better idea? From everything that I've heard from the news, it points to the parents. They're also already suspects if not charged. I haven't seen the story in a while. Yes, its called innocent until PROVEN guilty, not innocent until conjecture and circumstance may possibly in some way indicate some person may slightly have been involved. The DNA evidence and sniffer dog evidence the Portuguese attempted to get admitted in court has been questioned already so NO everything does NOT point at them being guilty. FYI parents are always considered as suspect in child disappearances. Try reading past the headline in whatever rag you call a newspaper or listening past the first few seconds of a news soundbite. It REALLY worries me that you can come to such a certain conclusion whilst knowing little to nothing about a case - god forbid you ever get picked for jury duty.
  21. And what evidence and rational reasoning have you used to attain that judgement? Or did The News of the World tell you that its true? Freddie Starr ate my Hamster!
  22. Madeleine Mccaan (for the unknowning) is a girl who was abducted about a month ago from her bed whilst on holiday with her family in Portugal - this has triggered a massive media campaign to find her which still continues to this day although it has been stalling recently with the accusation that her parents (who pushed the media so much) did it. This is a pretty basic jist Personally I think the whole sorry media circus needs to end. I can understand the parents wanting to find their child but the attention the media has given them is ludicrous - had the child not been white, blond, cute and British I doubt the papers would have cared at all. As for who did it? I think if the police who have access to all the evidence have yet to come to a conclusion then I doubt any of us can make a rational judgement.
  23. Psh, this kind of thing isn't new - think of Salman Rushdie - he had a fatwa declared against him and has survived an assassination attempt I believe. Good old religious fundamentalism.
  24. So, you complain about the decline of the forum and whilst you do that break two of the rules put in place by the admins to prevent such decline. The irony and overall fail of this topic is too much to bear P.S. your little squabbles with paperclips - don't you realise this is exactly what he wants? You just helped him win.
