Huzzah! patches have worked!! Now...anyone have a copy of those guides that Bubsa talked about a few pages back? :lol: Also...what should I look for in a server? Last time I played I just went with whatever they recommended (let it be noted I'm a pansy non-pvp player) - is that ok to do still? Now just to choose a race and class...hmmm....

Such is Modship unfortunately - whatever the forum, big or small it will always attract idiots, flamers and the odd troll. Just adhere to the written rules of the forum (if there aren't any, get someone to write some!) and then when anyone breaks them, slap them in the face with the terms and conditions that THEY signed up for and agreed to. Just watch you don't become arbitrary - check with the other mods/admins about your conduct and make sure you are all working together with similar standards and aims, then you should have no issue.

oops :oops: back again, just noticed those patches are from the US site - will they work with the UK version (I know I should have mentioned that was the version I would be using - if there's any difference that is) Again, thank you whoever helps - there won't be many more questions I promise! :lol:

Isn't the NONE -> 2.0.0 the whole game client? Surely thats what I have on the disc no? Or does it mean NONE as in no patches? If I need that 3 gig one I'm screwed, I dont have a USB that big :lol:

Question oh wise dispensers of WoW related knowledge. Seeing how RS is now broken beyond repair I'm looking at starting WoW again - now the only thing stopping me is the patches, let me explain a little. My net connection is something awful, playing the game is fine, no issues there but when it comes to straight file downloads it takes a sodding age (last summer to update WoW from the disc version to playable took about 3 nights of downloads, I kid not). basically, is there somewhere I can download the patches on another PC (with a decent connection) and then USB them over to my PC to install? Thanks in advance.

Another thing lost :( The few solutions there are still won't make it the same, the great thing about the MSSWs was the rush of running through the wild, never knowing when the enemy would loom out of the distance and clash with you. Using the new features would make it too clinical, over organised and dull, it just wouldn't be the same. Use old features like fight pits and well...cheating was bad enough when it was limited to f2p - p2p cheating with no loss would be ancients, whips and god knows what else. If the organisers can find a way to make it work then I'll be ecstatic - if not then let it be known your work was brilliant and truly appreciated by all.

No, I'm tired of everyone bashing for Jagex for things they can't control. "JAGEX GET BETTER SENSORS" "OMFG BANN ALL MACROS" All people want Jagex to do is make everything better for themselves. They don't even bother to report bots because they say "It's impossible" but don't you think it's impossible for Jagex either? And how come it's only Jagex's fault and not the people who run Gold Farming businesses and such. I've only seen people bash Jagex but not once mention how it's really the selfish,goldfarming gluttons who created the macros in the first place. And to be honest, I want Jagex to change back to the old Runescape. Not because I like it better that way, but so that when they have to inevitably close down Runescape I can laugh at how all those who're going to be crying on the forums. Please don't make straw man arguments, you have failed to address any of my points and have repeated your (flawed) argument verbatim with little or no reference to the issue at hand. The issue is not who is to blame, or the reporting habits of members (which I have to say is the most horrific generalisation I have ever seen) the issue is that the changes Jagex have made has effected the game in a detrimental way that could never have been achieved on the back of RWT and Macro's alone.

Now if Jagex didn't do anything, more and more bots would be appearing which meant an increase in RWT'ing which means Jagex loses more and more money also. Now when you're in a business, losing money isn't a good thing. So Jagex starts losing money, so much money that they have to pull the plug soon so that they won't go broke. RWT != money loss and destruction of company. EVERY other MMORPG has to cope with RWT, I've yet to hear of a single company go under because of it and I've certainly never heard of a denial of service from credit card companies - of course if you'd like to provide some precedent then that would be great. Go broke? Go read their fiscal reports, they aren't even coming close.

It really isn't worth it - I don't know about your finances but the seeds at low level are so cheap the time you spend watching them could be so much better spent (and indeed with more money earning potential) Payment is also kind of pointless at low levels (I only pay for trees myself). Can you get online now, I feel in a generous mood and may give out some free low level seeds (although I have no potatoes =()

Firstly, dont just use one patch at once, it takes ages and watching your crops grow is NOT an option (if you want to stay sane). In terms of gathering seeds, most low level ones can be bought from the seed stall in draynor (provided you haven't stolen from it recently) Another route is thieving from master farmers but with your level I wouldn't advise that. The main farming patches I use for allotments are falador, ardougne and the one near the ectofuntus (if you have access) - all the patches can be found in the tip.it guide. Use the highest level seed you can (obviously) for faster experience or lower as your finances allow and once you get to level 15 growing oak trees will be your fastest exp.
