There aren't really important skills, but if i had to choose i'd say Runecrafting, Mining and Slayer, mainly because THOSE are the hardest to level (Runecrafting being the most profitable one).

If i have to go for the best looking, Verac. If i have to go for the best one combat/trainingwise, Guthan. If i have to go for the best one pkingwise, Dharok.

Yeah they're a waste, often people make a pure only to quit with it over 6 months, if they reach the 6 month period offcourse, pures are a waste, stick with your main.
