  1. What the [bleep] Cornell. Assuming Wisconsin loses (24 point comeback in 6 minutes?), I'm officially screwed.
  2. LMAO KANSAS. Or should I say lmao UNI? I think Kansas was the most picked on ESPN.com to win the whole thing. Haha. Good thing I didn't pick them. (Obama did though?) I had them in my Final Four though. I was kind of surprised that Cornell actually won yesterday. My whole East bracket was completely intact, but looks like Washington will kill it. I knew I should've picked Wash, my dad was there for 9 months...

Pretty sweet day today. I had 2.5 free blocks (Latin cancelled, chem half-free since I finished a lab quickly, regular free), and we went outside last block to play Ultimate for PE. (my school doesn't have a field since they're constructing a new building on it, so it's a pretty rare thing to go outside) The weather is really nice - very Taiwan-esque, especially since we had that massive rainstorm last week. I also need a haircut. I don't think I've had one in 2010 yet. Oh and loooooooooool Cornell won.
  4. Hegemony is one of my vocab words for English. I laughed. People stared. I laughed some more. That is all. (the staring might also have been due to me yelling "PETER WIGGINNNNNN," and coincidentally, I'm reading Shadow of the Hegemon now...)

I laughed so hard at the blanked out person. She bought a dog... :-o ! Lookout 4chan That was awesome. So was the explanation of LOL.
  6. Actually Chile isn't pronounced like chili, it is chill-leh. Only if you're a hipster. Or if you're Canadian.

MANIA. Militarism, alliances, nationalism, imperialism, assassination. Basically what Lent said, but with a cool acronym. (I had my WWI test on Thursday...)
  8. Ah, thanks. I feel like I should've known that. <_< Still a huge difference. :)
  9. Depends on how you define major. Wikipedia lists 55 earthquakes in Taiwan of >6.0 magnitude between 1900 and 2006. And earthquake documentation is improving - 100 years ago, a 6.4 in the middle of Taiwan might not have been noted down. It was part of the mysterious Japanese empire, 12 people were injured, and there was no obvious fault line (I don't think). But today, I'm sure there's some computer or something that documented it. A seismograph. I don't know. And 1.3 ms or whatever is huge, guys. It takes me like 60 ms to load a website. At least I think that ms is referring to microseconds.
  10. I'm Taiwanese (as if I don't broadcast that enough) and I thought about posting it, but I suppose Saru is right. I think 12 people were injured. And a 6.4 is like 1/6th the power of the Haiti quake. I'll just keep talking though since it was brought up...although Taiwan is one of the densest countries in Asia, the epicenter was in the mountains. Taiwan is also pretty prepared for earthquakes though - two 7.0's hit around the same time a few years back and only like 2 people died. Though there was also a 6.5 earthquake near Indonesia. I'd think that'd be more serious since Indonesia is a much poorer country, but apparently not. Note: Don't bring up Taiwan or else I'll just keep going off on tangents. :-P
  11. [bleep] YEAH That is all. (I can't wait)
  12. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. And I don't give a [cabbage] about the Midwest. So I dunno.
  13. I can't be bothered to read everything since the forums went back up...I hear that something good is going on with Africa? +.4% GDP or something? Cool. 30% of all EGG-ians are powered by natural resources. I really don't have any other projects. Though watch for a PM sometime in the next few days, Archi or Sere. I might decide to do something interesting for once.
  14. My friend found this a week or two ago:
  15. I've always loved the city of Moron. EGG begins to save more money than before.
  16. Wow, haha. I'm tempted to switch to Taiwan just so I can get in on the action. Speaking of which...I'm pretty sure Retech never took Taiwan, so it should still be blank on the map. Just don't want someone to assume it's part of Japan and obliterate it. It's a mighty fine piece of land. And Sere: Cameroon - yea or nay? If yea, improvements are being built. I don't feel like getting more specific. Schools. Hospitals. Military bases. loljapan
  17. Heavy is probably closest to your typical FPS, which you may or may not be used to - just aim and fire. Other classes tend to be a bit...different. I used Medic to learn maps, then switched to Pyro to get the hang of fighting. Didn't work too well for me...I still suck. Getting better at Engie/Sniper/Soldier though.
  18. In every city/territory/province based game I've played (Civ4, HoI, R:TW, etc.), there's always a chance of revolt, especially if the area in question doesn't have that strong of a tie to the rest of your empire. That kind of seems like the case here. Revolts should definitely happen. But maybe not to the extent that a territory completely breaks off. Create a mod (or anyone else) controlled faction of rebels, and allow the former ruler/nation (Retech/Japan, in this case) a chance to crush the rebellion. If it fails to do so, the territory breaks off. If the former owner wins, the territory stays his.
  19. I posted about my invasion of Cameroon over a week ago, before we established the war mod...Do I still need to post attack plans, or can we just assume that I won? Military of Cameroon: About 30,000 soldiers Military of EGG: About 300,000 soldiers I know it's very possible to lose a battle despite outnumbering the enemy by so much, but really...? Either way, troops have been sent to the Angola border, simply for patrol. No attacks, unless Angolan troops show hostility first, as they did in the east.
  20. I have no clue, lol. What I did was find the blank map on Google, then I copied and pasted parts of it over the former Abyssinian Empire. I don't think I hit any transparency settings...
  21. It's neither revolutionary nor amazing, and it has the lowest Metacritic rating out of all the games I have on Steam (except an expansion pack that I got for basically free), but I got it for like $3 when it was on sale. And it's pretty fun telling my HQs or whatever to head for Paris and Amsterdam, do something else for 5 minutes, and come back to find the Netherlands and half of France completely in my control. It's also pretty good for a war/history/geography buff. EGG prods Nigeria.
  22. My version: [hide][/hide] And HoI3 came out a while ago, I just started playing recently. It just hates Steam and Vista and whatever else I have though. <_<
  23. I can try some graphical trickery later, though I can't guarantee it'll work. It's also been 20 real life days since EGG first started researching and developing various methods of green energy, so now 15% of the empire is fueled by them. Otherwise, people continue being happy. (and why does Hearts of Iron III keep crashing on me when France tries to surrender...it's supposed to be fixed >_>)
  24. "A virus has been found on a Polish mans computer, so the SR has assumed control of the country"? "Hey Poland, you suck!" Dusty, you can take over now.

My whole school would be gone if they got all the users. Except for maybe like 20 people. Rich white suburban city kids have nothing better to do. A few weeks ago some kid hit a teacher who was searching him for drugs (which he did have). I'm pretty sure he got in more trouble for the violence though. Vacation is drawing to an end. Screw you all with spring breaks in March. Not a single day off for the entire month...(minus weekends)
