  1. Farming is an easy skill to train. Buy your highest tree seed, and it grows without you even working on the skill. Five yew trees is 35k+ exp, and it takes 5 minutes of your time. Agillity is brutal. No way to powertrain it. You cannot buy Agility levels. RC is brutal. Takes soooo long for xp. Even with runners and companies, its sloooow. For me, Herblore and smithing are on the harder side, because of the low exp given for each click. Especially if you're not buying the levels, they're brutal. Anyway.... Just wanted to post for rebuttal on the farming being hard. With tree seeds, its arguably the easiest, since no time is required.
  2. Yes, very common team scam. I don't see how anyone falls for it, but they sure do try. You see someone in the whip area spamming "Buying Warrior ring 4 mil" over and over. This is an attempt to make you think a warrior ring is worth 4 mil. His friend is spamming "buying whip 3.5 mil", and trys to buy a whip for a warrior ring, hoping you'll think "Wow, I can sell this ring for 4 mil to this guy over there" But everyone knows that a warrior ring is 400-500k on world 2, anyway. Lame scam attempt, and you can't report it because its a team attempt.
  3. Looks like you'll have that cape way before I do. Don't give up, champ. Good luck. Enjoy the cape.
  4. They break? lol. Well, considering that there are falcon hides laying around the training area by the hundreds, the only thing thats gonna mess up is my "2 of everything" bank.... Hmmmm..... :-k 222 thieving gloves ftw!
  5. Lol. I don't wanna bore you all COMPLETELY now. Hehe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hunting Blog Day 6 Stood in a spot and caught the same butterfly over and over again, releasing as I catch. Got a level. Fell asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \
  6. Actually, bring extra sets. One Evil Bob random, and you lose your boxes. And you can use hunter potion to boost your hunting level if you wanna try something a level early.
  7. Salamanders would be faster xp. But you wont' be able to find an empty spot with 4 traps open. Its not my dislike for crowds, its just you can't share net traps. If they're taken, you are out of luck. And they're all taken right now. And even if you do find a spot, some rude, frustrated trainer will come and steal your spot, and you'll just be frustrated also. Technically, salamanders are faster xp. Realistically, chompies will GIVE you better xp.
  8. I get that request alot. Lots of RS things going on right now, hunting obsession, bank obsession, slave auction, weddings... its crazy. After everything settles down, I'll do another "Dag Kings for Newbies" event. Keep an eye out.
  9. And the regular 53+ chompies are great too. Much better than lizards because of the availability issue. And they are great to keep too. Gotta include chompies in this.
  10. This thread says they drop 1-9 now. I assume they're noted now. Could someone confirm this?
  11. Actually, salamanders is the easiest one of the bunch. You can kill a slayer monster found in lumbridge caves ( I think its cave slime) that drops 1-9 tar everytime. Let me check another thread real quick. EDIT: Yep, cave slime is the key. Easy to kill, just need 17 slayer level, a lantern, and antipoison. Getting 1-9 on every drop will add up very fast, and beats running around picking them up from spawns.
  12. I forgot about that. I gotta get me a couple of those. Don't know, haven't tried it. But I would bet against it. Jagex only mentioned the benefit of one extra inventory spot.
  13. All potted up, I was hitting 20's. Didn't use the prayer, but thats just a hair under Karils. Ammo is hard to get, though.
  14. Just train on birds until you get to 15. You don't have to fight for a training spot, and you can get the "bird hunting" phase out of the way. hehe. 15 will come soon enough.
  15. Sign me up! I will take out my slaving frustrations out on thou! Muhahaha! Actually, I'll make it fun for you. I have a few ideas. :D
  16. When this skill came out, I was like... bleah. Lame. And then I got to the rewards. And I'm very impressed. Here's what I think. How about you, are you as impressed as I am? 1) The bow with long [bleep]ed bolts rocks. Its nearly as good as Karils in damage, and has much better features. You can use it one handed, so you get to use a shield. And you can pick up the bolts. Its very fast, also. 2) The chinchompies rock. They throw almost as fast as knives, and hit serious damage. I haven't tried it on everything, so there might even be more benefits (Do they work well against high levels, like metal dragons?) But even from what limited I know now, they are fantastic. 3) The black salamander is simply the best weapon in the game. Wow. With its versatility and power, you can hardly argue this. It uses all three attacks, and hits hard on all of them, and has a fast speed. The only drawbacks to these weapons is that the ammo is hard to get. Takes a long time to collect them yourselves. You have to track razorbacks for the bow bolts, and you only get 6 bolts per [bleep]e. You have to catch the chompies, and it takes hours to get enough for miinutes of fun. And harlander and swamp tar is needed for the salamander. The good thing is that you get the ammo while leveling the skill. 4) The butterflies are as good as a super potion. Drawback is you have to use it on a friend, not yourself. I have a feeling the quest will give you a way to use it on yourself. Just a hunch. 5) Thieving gloves seem to be effective. I tested them on heros and saw a significant difference, but not overwhemling. I'd like them to be more effective. 6) Capes. Well, okay, for me, this is in the "big deal" category. But I haven't gotten the level needed for the best cape yet, so maybe I'm just naive. And more importantly, when you figure out how do to the training efficiently, its really a fun, easy-to-level skill! Go figure. :P If you've tried it and got frustrated, read on. Tips on training efficiently - It can be a frustrating skill with the crowds, but heres some ways to make it fun no matter how many people are training. 1) Butterflies - You can really powertrain with these guys. The trick is finding a spawn on ONE spot. Just stand where it spawns and catch the same one over and over. You barely have enough time to catch and release before the next one comes. Its like a 3 second respawn. Its quite fun, and the time goes by fast, and the experience racks up fast. 2) Chompies - Chinchomps are great exp, and more than one person can effectively train in an area. Again, the trick is to set up your boxes right where the dudes respawn. Use as many traps as your level allows, and you will barely be able to keep up. And save them! They are stackable. 3) Falcon training - This is really cool. Finding an empty spawn is a challenge, but once you find one, stand one square away from the spawn, attack him as soon as he spawns, drop the fur, bury the bone, and put your mouse on the respawn spot. Its only about a 4 second respawn. You can really crank up the xp. When you stand right next to them, you rarely miss. 4) Lizard training - Only bother this before you can do chompies. They are super hard to find a respawn thats not being used, and its very frustrating. But for low levels, swamp lizards are great experience if you can find as many trees to use as your level allows. But just skip these. 5) Forget the bait - Don't waste your time. You don't need them. You'll be so busy setting up traps and collecting critters without bait, it won't take you long to realize its a waste of time baiting, and smoking too. Things not to train - Birds, Deadfalls, Pitfalls, and Tracking are things you can try to have fun, but not good for power levelling. Although tracking the razorbacks gives you the ammo you need for the bow, and the exp is not horrible. One tip on tracking... just use the same burrow over and over again, so you can predict the different paths that come up after some practice. Makes it much faster when you know which bush to search. I don't believe I like this skill as much as I do. You?
  17. Wow, I've done more level 3 clues than I can count. I've NEVER got that. Wonder why its so rare?
  18. Everything should be fairly easy. But 4 words are gonna be a chore. Dragon Chain Santa hats.
  19. 2490 Yew bows. Thats alot of alching. So I stand outside of Edge bank clicking away, and this level 70 comes up to me and types "Hhahahahhahahahha". I'm like, :-s . Okaaaayy... And this continues. He just stands there, doing bird flapping emotes and typing "Hahahahahhaha" over and over and over. Usually silly things like this are easily ignored... but it just went on for too long. Long enough for me to actually move to the other side of the bank. Of course, he followed me, and continued this. It went on so long, that it became a weirdish staring contest. How long could I endure it. How long could he continue it. He won. I tellied to Draynor to finish my alching. I had 1350 bows left when I tellied. Very odd.
  20. Whats the level to make the clue items Level 3. I don't have access to main site or knowledge base, so I'm flying blind. Can someone please look up what level it takes to build the Level 3 clue chest? I'm having a feeling I'm gonna need to buy a flatpack. :P
  21. Hey cool. I got the left side of the skull from those Ankou dudes on a slayer task. Now I know how to get the rest of them. Thanks for doing this. :) If you expanded this to cover the entire Stronghold, it would qualify for the Archive of Wisdom. It would need locations of the emotes, maps of the floors (indicating where each monster is, which one drops the sceptre pieces, where the ladders and portals are, and where the emote rewards are) Hope you do it, the Archive needs a guide on the Security Stronghold.
  22. I'm dead broke, guys. I have no money to buy anything yet. Give me some time, and I'll make some money. Toast, my bank looks ordinary now. Ordinary with no cash, no santas, and no duplicates. Just an average bank again, with one little party hat. *cries* I'll add you, (forgets f2p's name) if you're gonna be on in 90 minutes. I'm at work right now. Need to get QueenValerie and me together for slave auction picture.
