  1. Draconic jadinkos aren't that fast at 80.. They get quite a bit faster as you level up. I would do red salamanders, mixed with anything else if you get bored. Falconry is interesting, though not as fast. Chins are horrible because of the bots.

    Seems meh.
  3. Seems to be that way.. I am excited for the impact of these changes.
  4. There are too many numbers which don't make any sense at the moment. Not enough clarity in the equipment screens.
  5. I agree. I hope that it changes towards more difficult to kill bosses, and requiring more efficient thought about how to stay alive longer, and away from a brew/rocktail eating frenzy. I think its a half step in the right direction (what we have now) but with 2 steps back.
  6. Can you clarify your point? Money only ever circulates the game regardless of inflation or deflation. The only ways it can leave the game are through things like dropping it or paying various NPC's. Oh, I was talking about virtual value, much like how in the real world only a small percentage of our money is backed up by cash. Most of it exists only in a computer. If you take say Bandos, of which there are many thousands of sets floating around, and drop the price of each set from say 45m to 20m, then the monetary value of all those bandos items is now less than half of what it used to be. For each thousand sets, 25 billion in gp value was just removed from the economy as a whole. If you look at those items as an investment, this is money people no longer have, since they spent x ammount purchasing the armour, but can only get a less ammount of y back, and in barter trades, the armour commands less value compared to what it used to get you. In effect, money is now gone, though I seem to have thoroughly confused myself on inflation vs deflation. Massive ammounts of money leaving the economy is deflation, since prices are going down. I think that makes more sense now at least... Essentially, people have less money value available to them, even if their assets are still quite liquid, but its okay because everything got cheeper (its nice when the cause corrects the problem). You're right. The excess wealth is soaked up by rares and other high-end gears and cash stacks. It doesn't "strictly" leave the game but it leaves circulation due to wealthy players not participating in the economy in the same way. I have a friend with over 1b of wealth who just sits on it, doing nothing. That's effectively 1b that left the economy.
  7. I really hope that multi-combat is just for testing. Multi-way combat everywhere has so many issues. (but at least my useless steel titan can help...)
  8. The abilities all have cooldowns plus a global cooldown after each ability is used. It feels like button mashing, but I think I just needed to get used to the proper abilities. In dungeons I found the best strategy seems to be using rejuvinate to eat up otherwise wasted potential, due to long stints of zero monsters. It tended to feel spam-like because the abilities lag a little after the initial button press. Also, I feel like if I miss any moment where I could be activating an ability that I am losing out on damage so I tend to want to spam-mash the abilities.
  9. A Beta is an almost but not entirely finished version of something. I've played Beta's in the past that have had giant chunks of content missing. The Beta is going to be running for a while so its to be expected that some things take priority over others. Mostly I wish they were more forthcoming with a list of things they already know are missing/wrong. They hyped it a lot to the point where I felt like it should've been more complete (though obviously with wrong numbers)
  10. It seems they are aware of a lot of things. It seems unprofessional to have so many things missing from beta (not wrong: missing). * Stat boosts on items * Prayer boost on items * Shields not working properly * Cluttered tabs I can get some of this due to time crunch or oversight but... Also, I would like a nice thread on the forums by a mod that is like a patchnotes for the beta. Keeping us informed in a single place of all the changes.
  11. I hope it does :( New system is annoying right now..
  12. Yes. I'm hoping that beta is multiway everywhere, but that is just for testing.
  13. There are. they just aren't visible as far as I can tell. But I definitely hit a lot less wearing melee armor trying to mage.
  14. Agreed, the differences between amount gained by lvl versus armor is stupid. I just don't want hidden values to matter. I tihnk I would like max hp to be around 2k.
  15. The more zeroes they ahve the more precision they have. Yes, I agree, dropping one zero would be fine. But two or three begins to cut into the ability be as precise. Plus human nature likes bigger numbers.
  16. More zeroes means they can change the relative proportions of dmg dealt to dmg taken so that it about the same. Right now we do a lot more damage than we can sustain.
  17. Good times. :) That was a long time ago. Grr beta anticipation... and I have to go to work in half an hour :(
  18. Wow... you can't purchase more membership... what if you want to, in order to be able to get vanity items?! It would be funny if the number of vanity items exceeded the number of months membership you could purchase at the moment so that its not possible to get all the vanity items at all... Wonder if/when that will happen?
  19. It is definitely going to be interesting to see people try to break the new formulas.
  20. While it is possible in the new system to be 99 attack, 1 strength, 99 defense, and be lv200, that isn't the same type of pure because reduction in strength in the *current* system is reduction in damage potential. Also, the abilities available could change everything. I have a feeling that most players will train strength and attack in a balanced fashion, and there is no reason for a pure to choose to be lower on purpose (They would only choose to max both strength and attack) The only type of player would be one who didn't choose to train both strength and attack to the same level, that is when they would be disadvantaged. The forms of pure possible have changed, and we have little/no idea of the impact of abilities yet.
  21. I expect around noon bst is the earliest you will be able to get on. The problem with technical writers, is that engineers who make a product are actually usually very poor technical writers. (And worse customer documentation writers) because they understand it from the development perspective. It is difficult to switch perspectives. I think that Jagex knows more about this update than we do, but we as players will be faster at finding the loopholes, as there are far far more of us than them, and we collaborate on the internet, with many bright minds working together. It is difficult for a company to outpace that without a lot of effort/work/very smart developers. I don't doubt they know a lot about the game, but many developers tend to know very little about the top end of the game. I am sure they have developers specifically targeted at that knowledge, but a vast majority of the developers have no idea. And the issue is that they can't have all content developed by a single person. Nor can they have all content appeal to a single style of player. Understanding the full impact of an update is very difficult for a development team to do.
  22. Technical writers in general are very difficult to come by. Most people capable of doing it well want to do more interesting/better paying things. Technical writers aren't payed well, and the assumption is that is is easy, when in fact it is very difficult to be precise and concise about something, especially when you are only paid to do the writing, and don't actually have a hand in the development.
  23. Did they claim they won't help as much or is that your conclusion? Summoning is pretty much confirmed, but the rest? Some of the ultimates do damage based on your opponent's health (40% max health damage etc.) so turmoil won't help there damage-wise but ss should, in principle, and perhaps accuracy will still matter. I imagine few attacks will be 100% accurate, so turmoil and potions should help a ton there with the increased defence. The thought is that prayer will stay the same power, but that other stuff will increase. I expect prayer to be incredibly useful still. I think the developers don't necessarily understand the impact of prayer. While I do think it should have found a way into the system, I can understand why they removed it from the formula. I assume that the bonuses given by turmoil are just as useful, but the difference is that the opponent without turmoil still has a lot of abliities at their disposal. It would give the advantage to the turmoil player but not as large an advantage as before.
  24. The argument against overloads and extremes was that you couldn't tell whether your opponent was using them unless you saw the overload damage. I think the new interface changes that as you will be able to see what buffs/debuffs are on your opponents. Hence they are being allowed into the combat. Also, They are claiming that abilities are a huge portion of combat now, so overloads, prayer, summoning help but don't have as big an impact as before.
  25. I agree. The difference is that a lot more people have bandos. I want barrows and bandos to both be "good enough". Some people would say that you simply don't know how to play if you can't figure out how to save for bandos. But I believe that people misunderstand that it takes money to make money. The more money you have access to, the faster you can train and discover how to make more of it.
