So you would do two tasks that net you 20k and 10k slayer exp instead of one task that nets you 40k slayer exp? The update lives up to it's name. It IS Social Slayer. It's good for people who need or want to slay with others. I will however stick to normal slayer where the exp rates are better and I can talk to people through pm or friend/clan chat. It all comes down to how good the benefits of the reward shop will be. Can the extra points you gain through more tasks be used to make up for the loss of experience. That depends on your ratio of good to bad tasks. If every individual task, on average you finish twice as fast, then the xp/hr stays the same if you had that task 100% of the time. Assuming that you have an equal ratio (per unit time) of good to bad tasks (remember that longer tasks doesn't mean a bonus) then you'll get the same value out. However, faster tasks also means more slayer regular points (assuming you still get those!) and doubling speed of a task has a larger impact if you get more "subpar" tasks. Not everyone efficiently blocks and skips tasks that are bad. Not everyone even knows which tasks are good or bad. Overall, I believe this will have roughly equivalent speed, favoring bonus towards people who are already more casual, (that is it should increase xp/hr for semi-casual, but leave xp rate of pros to be about the same) Actually determining whether it's better is much more difficult. (Requires more information than I have)

I love the idea that if both players have no assignment, they can ask for a duo assignment. This way you can effectively always duo slay. I don't know about you but I would much prefer that, I've found slayer to be difficult sometimes because you have to be "lucky" to get on task together. Also you tend to finish at different paces. I like the idea of rewards for it and I wonder what it will be. Beyond that, there is too much celebration, and what appears to be a mediocre level quest (though it could be incredibly enjoyable to play through!) I'm sure I'll have fun at all the events but they just aren't that compelling.

Stuns are incredibly powerful, even with Freedom. Especially if Ice can keep stunning you despite freedom..

Duo slayer! That sounds amazing. Assuming two players are equal skill, that should mean on average half the time to complete tasks, so it shouldn't have impact on xp/hr if you want to duo, but it does mean you can continually get slayer tasks with buddies. Too bad the slayer reward points sound like new duo points with new rewards, instead of using the current reward points.

Account Creation and Servers down
I believe it increases at a set rate by contacting the Jagex servers using AJAX. So if your web goes down the page can't use AJAX to update. However I don't believe the number on the server end is necessarily life time, I think it filters through all account creations and it does take time. We can't be sure exactly how fast bots/others create new accounts, but I imagine bots can create a lot of accounts very fast.. The server end probably can't keep updated that fast. So they've throttled the numbers, and when the game server went down it was catching up? That or they've used AJAX for some reason but the counter is fake anyways...

They did mention in one of the FAQs, that if you are 6 levels or less below a potion it will work.. but only during the beta... I can't find it then tbough.

I agree. I would much rather have areas where multi-combat works for our stuff, but where its not as easy to kill-steal. I'd rather have it based on who does the most damage and not who did the first hit. I'd want the places like kuradel's dungeon to be like glacors so that you can only attack one at once. (But still use steel titan) Testing in PvP is not PvM. I want to be able to use abilities at half the rate, so that my fingers don't get tired.

I hope they know what they're getting into. And understand the feedback we have this time. A lot of their ideas have promise if they work. Multi-combat everywhere is excellent since it means unicorns/cannon and AOE abilities work everywhere. However, it has to be balanced against the fact that many monsters can do damage. Considering that prayer isn't 100% negation at the moment that makes it even worse. They have a lot to do with the interfaces, stat bonuses, and clarity of what weapons actually do.. before I think a lot of us will be happy. I really hope they tone down the ability rate. Its hard to focus on it all...

They shouldn't hit that much through prayer. Also, they should make weaknesses into tiers. So, if its weak to bolts, it should be semi-weak to ranged...

Old player returning, seeking advice.
Barrows can be ok/fun money, but not the greatest. I really suggest making sure you're caught up in quests, and definitely find the dailies that you enjoy. Try out dungeoneering if you haven't yet, but be aware that it is vastly different from standard skills.

Way to go :) Herb runs for sure. Shattered heart rocks are a very nice way to break monotony of skilling. You can do it!

Technical question
Can you open the command prompt / terminal app and run the command "java --version"? Also have you tried other browsers?
