This year around, not a whole lot massive has changed, though many minor things add up. Sometimes you won't notice that its changed until you come back and people start telling you about little things. But, the big one is evolution of combat which is probably a few months out.

Pyrelord familiar costs very little more than bonfire regardless of logtype. It costs more gp/hr but that's because the xp/hr increases a lot, so its the same gp/xp (give or take the cost of pyrelord pouches and the bonfire bonus) But Jadinko lair is the best method.

Chaotic Rapier is greater than maul even though its stab, because of the high accuracy bonus and its a lot faster.

I believe a lot of the special effects on items haven't yet been added, but will be (void, slayer helm) Spec weapons won't be as good.

Yes, it requires a lot more thought and effort, but it would be far more balanced out, I think.

My opinion: They should make attack = accuracy and apply like defense to every skill.

The combat article didn't really discuss the issues with the system. Yes, the new combat formula is not good, but the old one was horrible. Levels were impossible to calculate by hand, Magic/Ranged didn't give the same bonuses, defense added a huge part to the combat level without being worth it. Prayer and Summoning both added to combat, and yet you couldn't even always use them.

As far as I can tell, the economy went bonkers for a lot more than 4 weeks usually. (about the time we'd recover from the first one it would start messing up for the next one, because people would horde things almost from the minute the last bxpw finshed)

I'm not sure how you'd do that, I suppose just with proper investing?

Prayer never worked on bonus weekends. F2P players don't have access to bonus weekends, and prayer alters/ectofunctus didn't work on bonus weekends. So unless you were going to bury bones on a member server the old fashioned way...? </ontopic> What?! A skill that I have 99 and Meredith doesn't?! Honestly, I did herblore via free xp, torstol farming (cleaning the herbs) and while I did spend a fair amount of money.. I did it over such a long time that I don't really feel like I spent that much on it. (Except at the end where I made overloads)

I respect a lot of their employers, but I don't respect their current upper management who is seemingly intent on continuing to move the game in the wrong direction despite development continually moving in the right one. (The real updates are actually quite good, but I could do with fewer SoF stuff)

I am a noob because I have 99 summoning, prayer, and HP before getting 99 attack, ranged, or strength. I'm a noob because I have been playing since before membership, and over 3/4 of my xp are from the last year.

I like the falador, varrock area a lot. I like the idea of the elf-lands but feel that it was poorly executed. I like morytania but it needs a few more direct teleports to places like canfis (easier access than from the house portal or swapping to ancients)

Hope we get more polar bears or penguins to hunt each week!!

Hopefully this means that ability spamming is slowed down a little... And thank god for finally fixing the dreadnips! That targeting system really needs to be worked into summoning too (switch targets, click attack, switch back)

They should introduce new ways to train herblore, rather than a twice a year weekend where it is easier.

Quality over quantity. Too much information can be a bad thing, as sorting out what's useful from what's not can be difficult.

Weekend doesn't start until midnight GMT on saturday, which is in.. 8 hours.

The bonus weekends really were pretty volatile in their impact on the economy and ability of players. You could get a lot done on the weekends, and it really wasn't balanced. While fair, and helpful to those who don't have billions of gp, i hope they replace them with something similar to the Hati paws instead of the bonus on the weekend.
