  1. Seems to me that this means you won't be able to separate the helmet without paying some fee, since its joined now by adding all the items. It has to be such a system where it costs money to create or it can't be separated (else the person could separate it and then rejoin it to get full again)
  2. 5 more skills to go!
  3. Yes, that's what I was referring to. But only as long as the 4 other members never gain xp.
  4. I don't feel that the current content system is that horrible at the high end. I certainly never felt like I had to read kindle or stream netflix during combat. (Honestly never been able to scape and read at the same time... Netflix is easy enough though) I happen to enjoy many parts of the game without resorting to half-playing while watching TV. You may feel that way about the game, but not *everyone* does.
  5. I really hope the hotkey bar stays for items too.
  6. If you plan on doing dg a lot, I would get the ring as that helps. If you were planning on not doing more dungeons, I would get chaotic. The surgebox doesn't do much though if you do get it, you will be refunded when they are removed after the combat beta, so wouldn't hurt. Get the scroll of life, and scroll of cleansing. The scroll of efficiency doesn't help much because you probably won't train smithing using bars that way (don't believe it works for ingots at the workshop) I suggest chaotic, since you'll have points for the rings if you do decide to keep doing dungeoneering.
  7. Sharing the spot actually helps, as long as you are willing to keep clicking attack every so often. More people means that more skeletons spawn (because you can kill them faster before the respawn moment), that means you are more likely to have the 9 targets to hit every time (instead of the sometimes 9, sometimes 5)
  8. Are you specifically wanting to melee him, or do you just want a firecape? If you have dungeoneering shield that soaks damage, just get maximum mage soak, and pray ranged while maging Jad. (No need to prayer swap). But if you are specifically wanting to pray swap him while doing melee... keep practicing :)
  9. OSX doesn't support ping. It needs privileged access which the client doesn't request for good reason (windows doesn't have this same problem because its not considered privileged to perform a ping). A work around if you are technical enough and can open the console/terminal is to use the ping command "ping worldX.runescape.com" should give you some data about latency time. Interpreting it all is not as simple, and I don't have an offhand set of options to just give you latency connection times.
  10. Summoning needs a rework already, this just makes it more obvious.
  11. Also, they appear to only be attacking the same monster.. Instead of spreading out a little and attacking more. Curious how that will work. (Same as I am curious how blocking will work, and curious how slayer points and duo points will work). The video mentioned that slayer points are tied to how well you do in the task (so you can't just sit back) Not to mention that the BTS said xp only counts for stuff you kill.
  12. I'm of the differing opinion that there have been more good updates than bad ones. However I can see that the experience has changed for you, so we have different opinions about what makes an update good. The game is vastly superior technically speaking, and has more content that I enjoy. But enjoyment is subjective. Besides, updates are an interesting balance. Without any updates, the game dies, because it grows stagnant fast. But with updates always comes the alienation of whoever doesn't like those updates. More things means that more is required to be "high-end" and the more high-end stuff there is, the easier it becomes to anger them by making something else high-end that invalidates all the work spent on being high-end before. It becomes increasingly easier to make players mad at you no matter what choice you make as a devleoper. (Don't make updates, everyone quits because the game stops evolving. Make any update and players complain/quit because the game isn't the one they remember)
  13. Shift-N should move to hotbar N, and you can change the modifier key by right clicking the numbers and selecting change modifier.
  14. If this showed the old teleports menu, I would be happy with this. (Small icons)
  15. 10yrs ago was *after* the release of rune essence? I think not. You need to wait another 2 years before its been 10 yrs since RS2. RS2 launched in 2004, (courtesy of rs wiki). Still, definitely a lot of nostalgia that attaches people to the way they want to remember things. I started before there was a members game. Was a very different and significantly less fun game then.
  16. This. Degrading isn't high enough cost to matter, and all it really does is annoy people when they forget.
  17. I think he means that someone using dual-wield rapier or rapier+shield has to spend 400k, vs the 2h maul is only 200k for what is *supposed* to be a balanced setup.
  18. I feel like mutli-way combat can be adjusted properly by taking it into account for monsters in areas. I would prefer multiway combat + cannon support in more areas. I want my familiars to be useful. I agree that bolts should either allow us to apply the enchanted tips to multiple bolts (so that more crossbows can use more effects) but I like that higher bolts require higher ranged. It shouldn't be only the top chaotic crossbow though! I want prayers to be balanced so that they aren't the only way to protect damage. I think that it should scale meaningfully though. That is, they shoudln't block all damage, but they should be at least notice-able.
  19. What bugs me is how inconsistent it is tbh. Barrows degrades, bandos and such doesn't, yet in the new system Bandos and such is better? Then there's PVP gear which will degrade into dust but is worse then Nex armour? Also, I'm thinking a maul might be best choice for new combat system. As you said, only one item to recharge instead of 2, and you only pay 200k. Especially true with magic - dual casting apparently goes through runes really fast, staffs are 2h and slower but hit higher to compensate. I don't think it's bad if higher level armour degrades, but it needs to be consistent. I don't think consistency is important at all, as long as everything remains balanced. I want balance and consistency.
  20. Vanstrom never used the darkness special against me.

    Gratz on the firecape!!
  22. My favorite spot is just north of the vine to cross the water, in a little alcove. Though there really is no good location. That spot has between 2 and 3 jadinkos depending on how they move after spawning. If someone has a better method I am all ears.
  23. Ah, that's what you meant :)
  24. I think its not the summon rework. Though I would love for that to be sooner not later :)
  25. Degrading armor is supposed to be a balance to help increase power. I would personally rather have all armor degrade, as it makes sense to degrade. This combined with a unified central repair system would be appreciated. I don't like how everything that degrades does so differently and repairs or replaces at a different place.
