  1. It would have to be one hell of a quest to smoothly remove the runes from the culture of man in this Age as well as their dependency on them - and then whatever miraculous change that is would have to be a world-wide event that would suddenly allow the human race to work magic without runes. I personally don't think it can be done, or will be done, within our "play-lifetimes." There's no real point. Such a revolutionary change would be the start of a new Age, and we're already lining up one to start with the climax of re-emerged Elder Gods etc. We can already infuse staves with the power of runes, and we can already infuse items with runes, why not infuse staves with spells? I know we're off-topic here, but I can see it feasible and not game-breaking at all to restructure RCing into an enchanting skill, then incorporate staff-imbuing into it. Extra spells not covered by the staff could be covered by tablets instead. That is a pretty big refactor, especially since I'd want to see every imbuing that is done in magic be moved into runecrafting.
  2. They are set by jagex, but your account name is not, so you could presumably make a 12 character account name that was the advertisement... not that easy thb.
  3. By the time they finish, the stuff they can do is better so they restart early. Also, they tend to focus more on places that lots of people go, rather than on places that are outdated. So they've redone falador, varrock, alkharid (soon) and other F2P places a lot more than the obscure P2P places.
  4. Yess! Along with the recolor options from the squeel spin rewards. :) I would love to be able to show those tiems ontop of what I am actually wearing without having to not wear any.
  5. I wish you could recolor dragon ceremonial without the whole set, and I wish you could color each piece individually..
  6. That's annoying, as i have been saving runecoins from larger purchase packages.. since I didn't want a lot of the items, but don't want to end up paying more per coin...
  7. Why not do this with the extra ring bonus? Should easily have enough points for it, and it would xp over the 30k a day limit? Slightly more... so it shoudl be closer to like 215-220k?
  8. Ok that's good enough evidence for me that spins don't carry over. I just wanted to confirm what you meant exactly.
  9. I like patch notes. I would prefer if the Squeel/Solomon didn't act like whole updates though, but I like that it causes more patch notes to occur.
  10. Missed a day as in chose not to spin? or missed a day as in missed the entire 24hr block? (0:00 GMT to 23:59 GMT, or maybe it's BST?)
  11. I think you do have to log in to claim them though, they don't accumulate unless you do log in that day. (and *most* people who log in will spin the wheel immediately, hence they don't accumulate like people want, that is accumulate whether you log in or not)
  12. Why not make it a % activity over the whole dungeon? That might be harder to track but you could track real time like... you need to be active for more than 80% of the dungeon time. That would mean that for really short floors AFK would be bad, but for longer floors you could afk for a little bit without trouble. (And active means gathering resources or attacking monsters or something like that?)
  13. It's not just that. The actual problem, "determining whether a user is human or robot" is non trivial to solve. There are people dedicated to solving all kinds of AI problems that make it more and more difficult to detect when a user is a machine or a person. And you're right with every advance in bot detection/prevention, there is an advance in the bot developers working against those detections..
  14. Most of the rs economy is fed by bots, without them many items we have always had on the cheap rise sharply as most normal players don't want to work on those. Eventually cost rises and players work on those items because it has become valuable to do so. But the actual GP entering the game causing inflation comes from alching, along with SoF, drops occasionally, and possibly coinshare and similar or stupid design like the 76k trick.
  15. I'm tired of people claiming jagex does nothing when they have absolutely no idea how complex of a problem it is to solve. There is no magic solution.
  16. i thought daily spins cleared out if you didn't use them within a day? Edit: Thanks Hedgehog
  17. The situation is still pretty bad. It's not quite as bad maybe, but there are still locations totally swarmed by bots.
  18. Hedgehog is right. The data provided is invalid because it is conjecture. Without actual recorded values it means nothing, due to the way our brains tend to bias memory towards data that matches with what we're expecting. Obviously, she could do data herself, but it is a big task and so asking for help, and getting an answer that implies having data, she is right to ignore invalid data.
  19. Due to the way highscores purges work it is possible that Jagex bans bots faster, but we don't see them purged from highscores until they do a regular purge, hence the purges could be lost members + bots. There is no real way to tell.
  20. Use piety, it won't cost and you can finish the task a lot faster. Spend slayer pts to get the rings? If you don't have the quest done, skip terror dogs, do the "smoking kills" quest, and get slayer rings. Terror dogs are not worth the time to do them if you can't get there using slayer ring.
  21. It could be interesting. Wonder how much the avatar can boost?
  22. Unless you're morality incarnate, you doing the same just makes it an appealing option. On a basic level I'd imagine that they feel it's immoral because in the terms of service everyone agrees to abide by it says you aren't allowed to sell in-game items. So by turning around and selling them you're being dishonest aka immoral. Morality at it's core however is a man made concept, so different people will find different things immoral. And many people have a scale for morality. Just because action A is not 100% moral, it can be more or less moral than action B. (unpredicated murder is less moral than punching someone in the face, for a simple example)
  23. I hope jagex is smart and new skills will not allow any bonus xp until at least one player has reached 99. (That way the race to 99 stays completely "fair")
